    I really dig the contrast of the rails against the ballast. But it all looks really great! Inspiring.

      Thank you! That contrast is part of the reason I go with such a bright orange rust color for the rails.

    The scene came out exceptional - also love the weathering on the ballast cars. The whole thing captures the gritty Conrail network.

    I really like the Penn Central bleed through on the 7686. The new connection looks good.

    The new cutoff into the yd looks awesome Steve. To me, that 1 section where the straight track connects to the switch (close to front edge) looks to be a bit of a dip & rocky . I like the road surface you put down, looks worn like leading into a maintenance yd. area. Again very well done Steve.

      Thank you Ted! I did test the track before I paint it and added ballast but somehow missed that low joint near the turnout 🤦‍♂️ Its always something on the O&WV!

    Great weathering & scenery. Rails are too red for my taste but overall great work.

      Thank you! The rails tend to look a little bright depending on how the camera picks them up at times.

    I’m new here…..What’s the backstory to the abandoned diamond and the connection? Is there one, or did you make just to “look cool”? Because it is!

      I made it just to look cool lol. It was a combination of different ideas from different places all put together.

    Does this layout have passenger trains as well?

    • @ConrailSteve
      @ConrailSteve  7 місяців тому

      Not as of right now but I do have some passenger equipment to run on a future version of the layout. Right now the curves are too sharp to hand the cars in a passenger train.

    I think why I am so drawn to your stuff is you don't go to perfection, it makes it ultra realistic........That road bed from turn out to turn out rolls some as it would in real life, most guys would level it to prefection which it should not be, then the low joint at the turn out is SUPER realistic, the engines go over it rocking and rolling just like real life. Most modelers would take it to the extreme and you would have had zero movement of the equipment going over it. You not only achieve the look, but the other touches of realism is awesome.

      Thank you!! I do try to get track work perfect but tend to miss somethings and I really like that view that it makes it more realistic!
