Good morning Rats!
Morrnin' sir!!!!
@@JanelleVocate-Ames Good morning Janelle! 😊
It is a great morning.
"I'll try not to weld anything!" Lol Grandma!
Ah Hunter is my adorable grandson. Bless ye all.
Wow, Paul, every video you surprise me. You work as a telephone lineman, you fabricate stuff, you build engines and automobiles, you recover stuck vehicles and now you also repair roads.
Roadside recovery - road repair - this ole phone guy can do-it-all!
LOL , you still have not recovered a "motor" home as the camper trailer has no motor! 7:42
My weekend mornings are all about Fab Rats. I absolutely love this channel. I want to be like Paul when I grow up.
Don't you love it when a plan comes together?!! Great recovery. I know that the owners of the camper were very grateful and much happy when you got their baby out of that spot!!! I managed to pull our camper out of mountain road all by myself!!! Ok, so I got the truck covered in mud, and when I felt the camper slip into the mud hole I could have a mule skinner blush, but I did get the camper out and on the road!!! Talk about a confidence builder!!
Hey Paul it's not a motorhome it's why I've never done one like that. Camper trailer.😁😊.🤙🏾.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽🤙🏾🙋🏽♂️✍✍.
Smoothing out the road when the job was done was a classy touch. Loved the drone shots of the scenery at the end of the rescue. That country is gorgeous.
Agreed, that was actually the highlight of the video for me. Makes me think, the new offroad towtruck should have a blade attachment to smooth some roads out after recoveries to so those spots don't become traps for the next bunch of people who come along 😄
Man the colour of your skies makes my heart sing. Don’t suppose anyone wants to sponsor a Paramedic, sound engineer, mechanical tinkerer to go live there ? You have a beautiful country.
I like that Paul broke up the hard pack around the hole first, just filling in the hole would not really last long. Restoring the are back to something close to the way it was is a class move. Love this channel.
Paul and Ben make such a great team. Ben's experience and chill is a fun balance of Paul's demo derby 'if it don't work, use a hammer'. This is one of my favorite channels on YT!
Could you ever imagine having such a popular UA-cam. I look forward to each and every episode. I hate Sunday because then it is an extra day(3) between episodes.
Hate speech
@@dr.floridaman4805 Ha ha ha LOL
I really can not get enough fab rats, eveything they do is awesome and they’re all such incredible people! Absolutely lovely family.
Fabrats,matts,robbies.. casey ladell on sundatys sometimes too
Yep, me too my friend and I've got the fab rat fever so bad I'm dreaming about going to Utah now and have never been nor wanted too but now I do and I caught myself last night looking on Google Earth how to find fab rats , I love these people , they are good down to earth people and never no drama and it seems that the whole state is like this , I have quite a few favorite you tube channels that are all people from Utah. , I think 5 or six channels
FabRats to 1,000,000
Had not seen this episode when it came out a year ago. Is crazy to see how much has changed in a years time. Tell Ben we miss seeing him on the show.
Use wheel chocks on the trailer when loading the mini. My buddy learned the hard way on a slope. Picked up the truck rear wheels so no more parking break and went for a ride. Totaled his truck and dump trailer.
Good point. Also, those little jack thingies on the back of the trailer are there for a reason. Helps prevent bending the trailer frame also while loading.
Leave the truck in 4 low.
@@oldeskool65 some of the newer electric shift versions don't reliably stay in 4wd when turned off, plus why mess with shifting into low range each time when it's not hard to just put the legs down.
Plus if it's on a slope, the tongue/back of the pickup can still swing downhill when lifted. My brother did the same thing before with a mini ex and almost died.
@@scubasteve7946 I ran a landscape business, it only took once of going for a ride, those little jacks aren’t rated for a 12k machine. I ALWAYS used 4 low to make sure things didn’t go crazy. Loaded equipment thousands of times and never had an issue locking in the 4 wheel. By far best option.
@@matjaquier7243 4 low doesn't keep the rear end from going sideways when in the air. If your jacks bend, sounds like you need heavier duty equipment 🤷.
Guessing Paul used equipment in his former job? Too smooth for a new guy
I watch Matt, Paul, Rory, Robby and Eric and marvel at the predicaments people can get their rigs into and then can't get them out. Then one or more rescue teams show up and make short work of getting them out as Ed would say. Nice work on this one Paul and Ben without damaging the trailer.
He's Like a Wizard on that Mini-X !!!!
Ben's ingenuity is impressive.
Paul is quite the equipment operator. I'm impressed!
he could not even back someone up in a truck..
@@timmykelly4508 where’s you’re UA-cam channel?
I like back blading 😎😎
He worked for the phone company for 20 years burying cable so yeah he's running many excavator
I bet he borrowed that mini excavator from the crew he used to work with or rented it one of the other! Probably not much that man can’t do!!
Glad Jase got at least half a haircut. Very Well Done Sirs.
Paul, you guys are men of many talents, hats off to you!
In your defense, your first trailer recovery had to be an Airstream! That probably upped the stress factor a bit. Great job!
That was amazing that your pickup knows how to automatically elevate its rear end to make it easier for you to get something on the trailer !
That's what it was, I thought it was in heat...
“I’ll try not to weld anything!”…… Grandma! I chuckled all the way through the video🙃
Paul: "I never rescued a motorhome before" . You still haven't, it has to have a motor to be a motorhome 🤣🤣🤣
The drone shot going to the job site was amazing.with the mountains in the background 👍👍
Between Paul's mini ex operating skills and Ben in the Dodge walking that thing out of the hole y'all made that look easy.
Fabrats to the rescue. Well done gang...well done.
That l'il CAT is amazing & that AirStream is the best looking/functional Motorhome yet.
Excellent Recovery Guys.
😀🙂
my friend has just about the same trailer and they really are well designed.
@@georgevinson612 and they hold their value quite well.
From what I've learned from Trail Mater: the tow truck with multiple winches will give you the ability to lift up on the tongue with the boom and pull forward with the low winch simultaneously. It's definitely going to provide more options.
Boy that Ben at time is a Life saver....is Ben your Brother...Because U 2 get along Great....Love watching
I love the boy scout ingenuity with the screwdriver pin, whatever works!
A very entertaining rescue but the camera work was so good and Michelle you did a terrific job editing and your family should be worried the Dicovery or History Channel don't make you an offer you can't refuse. Stay safe Fab Rats and thanks for sharing. 👍
Honestly cannot wait to see you guys hit a million subscribers
Loved the video. Really enjoyed the family Derbing together! Really liked the couching for Grayden and he did Awesome! Congrats to you all on a Great evening.
Great recovery guy's.....can't wait till the wrecker gets finished as well....we all know how Paul likes to find the limits of his machines....."LET HER EAT" !!..... LOL
Two years ago my brother-in-law was loading his skid steer, on a steep slope on their new property. The back end of his dually raised up, and everything took off down the mountain side. When he unloaded it worked fine. His truck hit a tree and a big rock, while the trailer flipped on its side. Unfortunately the previous owner had removed the seatbelt, and he was slammed around inside the skid steer. He found out last winter that he had broken his neck, and a couple of vertebra. He already had neck issues from his mechanic shop work, that he could no longer get treatments for. Be safe first guys.
That little tracked Cat looks brand new!
Nice touch on cleaning that road up fellas, looks like your pretty familiar with that mini-excavator! 👍🏻
This definitely gets filed in the what were they thinking category. I cannot imagine the thought process that went into putting the camper in that situation.
Maybe at night.... miscommunication... stranger things have happened.
Operation barbarossa
Mockingbird
Mkultra
Covid
Mrna
School shootings
Governmental ideas
My thoughts exactly. But I'm wondering if good ol' GPS didn't strike again, that thing can be a bad influence. Judging from the places they could have turned around and did turn around it probably was dark. Bet whoever owns that road is happy with Paul's repair.... leave it better than you found it 👍
I'm betting they were trying to turn around.
@@aliceevans3357 - "leave it better than you found it " OMG! Well said Alice. So well said. To use the jargon "you're a keeper".But you're here watching Paul n the fab Fab Rats....that says a lot.
You left fewer ripples with the damn mini ex than most road crews leave on a finished highway 🤦♂️
Right tool for the right job. Another professional job
Fab Rat Certified ! That is a new sticker.
Just doing what Paul does best..winging it..definitely came loaded for a recovery..
Seeing the rear end of that travel trailer, it would seem this is not the first time it's been a tight spot. Great job. God bless and stay well.
Thinking the same thing.
If they want a rig to practice on, they might start out with something older and cheaper -- those Airstreams are spendy for no more than you get. The shape really compromises storage (up high *and* down low) -- totally *not* suitable for living fulltime and offgrid as we do. For $300, they could also have the axles moved *under* the springs -- raises the whole trailer up 5 or 6" = much more suitable for dirt roads. :)
We also air up our trailer tires to maximum rated PSI -- gives a little more clearance *and* minimizes sidewall flex to let the tires run cooler.
@@sail4free1 only problem is you'll wear out the center rib of the tire before the rest of the tread.
@@rodneymartin6154 -- In 6 years and 10 months of living fulltime and offgrid and rolling about 11,000 miles a year (about 1/3rd of that actual towing miles), we have never noticed that to be an issue on any of our tires. :) Our trailer tires are carrying about 2,500# per tire so it's not like there is no load on them. We've had bigger issues with trailer axle alignment thrown off by not replacing both leaf spring packs on a given axle at the same time. That can scrub tires to ruin in record time. :(
Aww what a cute little baby shovel 🥰
Hey Paul, In order to be a MOTORHOME, it has to have a MOTOR!
What you have here is called a Travel Trailer! 😁😁😁
Yes more off-road tow truck vid’s please…can’t wait to see the tow truck Olympic’s🇨🇦🏴☠️
Great video. Keep a long shank padlock in your trucks. More handy than you'd expect. I use em as lock pins. And have used em to hold my exhaust with a short length of chain.
How convenient having the perfect machine to fix the road afterwards. Haha
GOOD JOB! Loved the screwdriver, electrical tape, lock pin Ben fabricated. Liked the fact you even repaired the damage to the road. Thanks for the videos.
"When you have the right equipment" and know how to use it is usually always the key. Of course, being able to improvise like Ben did helps. It looks like the MINI would be a big help on some of your way off-road recoveries, so you could just smooth out the road as you went. Good video work and editing as always.
Paul: We need a Pin... Ben I'll rig one up FabRats style!
I don't think the BLM would like Paul grading the trails down to make a recovery 🤔. That would take out all the skills needed to drive the trails.
@@michaelmcclure8673 looked more like a dirt road than a trail.
@@williamd1891
The other comment was about way off road recovery, which I'd bet is Blm land.
@@michaelmcclure8673 Of course, and then those without the necessary skills can get stuck and create a booming business for the "off-road recovery" companies in the state. Brilliant plan! As well as the restaurants, motels and repair shops.
The mini ex is a nice addition to your growing fleet. Grandpa Sherm would have loved playing with it as it's a big improvement over the one he built (not to take anything away from the amazing job he did on his homebuilt contraption). Always enjoy your channel and the variety of vids. Keep them coming!
Yes he would have
Fab Rat Certified…..I’ve got a couple of those tools in my shop!
Nice job getting the fancy folks with the Airstream outta there.
Love all the things Fabrats gets to do !!! love watching your videos !!! keep up the good work my frien Laul and Ben
Sand burrs aren't fun, especially when one is barefoot. Goat heads are worse. We had both when I lived in New Mexico.
Don't forget to bill the county (or the Forest Service) for road repairs! Lol!
(J/K!)
Mini cat excavator $$$$ love it !
Everyone should have a mini X . Hopefully you can get some time to fit in and start working on the Jeepster really looking forward to that build. good job on the recovery.
Awesome recovery Paul and Crew! The rear "bumper" could have been used to lift the back end up to block your wheels. When I had a camper (Not Airstream) I had dolly wheels mounted on that bumper to help on inclines like gas station drives
Good work. More funk please.
I have been watching, I think, even before it was fab rats, and have enjoyed everything that you put on. Since you added Ben, I feel your episodes have got even better, it seems to me, Ben is the real deal !!
In the thumbnail, that mini excavator didn't look so mini. I wondered how you got it out there. If I had a truck and trailer to schlep it around on, that mini ex looks like a pretty cool tool!
Another great video love the way you fix the road and where the trailer was stuck went the extra mile.
And they fixed the road. Good dudes!
FABRATS certified right there!! 🤣🔥😎👏
You guys are great .looking forward for more recoveries. The future is limitless
With that being said you guy’s definitely deserve it what a great group of people God Bless all of you
#2 Phillips was the first thing that crossed my mind! Good job!
Those harbor freight tree savers are very robust and versatile.
That is a pretty nice looking mini excavator, Paul's operating skills are way above beginner he must have some seat time in one of those. Great video guys. Is it just me or has Hunter brought some different camera skills?
That was literally his job for like 12 years before yt,. so yeah I'd say he has some experience.
Basic operating skills.
Once you get your eye in it's easy. 👍🏻
@@mikeworkman3593 He worked for that company for more than 20 years, he's qualified. lol
@@johnpyle8027 12 or 20, it was a long time
That was a cool job !! y’all did a good job
Now I have to add "mini excavator" right below "fork lift" on things to get myself for Christmas.
"We dont have a pin"...... "Well that aint goin nowhere." Y'all crack me up!🤣🤣
GOOD job guys ,no damage easy in easy out. Paul you and Ben have things figure out, great videos, great job
How the heck did the trailer end up in that location?
You're living the dream, such beautiful territory!
Paul, technically, the Airstream is not a motor home as it doesn't have its own driving motor (generator not included). Good recovery, and nice Cat toy, or is that a toy Cat?😁
As an Airstream owner I cringed several times during that rescue, but you did a fabulous job of getting it out!
When the rear end of the truck when airborne when you were loading the mini excavator I was laughing hysterically!! Definitely not normal FabRats behavior and that's why it made it extra funny!!
That cracked me up when cute grandma said, "I'll try not to weld anything", like it's just an urge that comes on her to weld sometimes and she has to try to not do it:)
It’s not fair. You guys have way to many fun toys to play with.
"Well, that ain't goin' nowhere!" LOL
Who knew Paul had those kinds of skills in a mini ex?? Nice work!
Great recovery guys. God bless you all.
It bogels the mind trying to figure out what the driver of that camper was thinking when he backed that trailer into that ditch when there was a flat spot any 100 ft away to turn around. Great job fab rats.
I like the Hillbilly reference! “That ain’t going nowhere”
that Plant Vehcle being that Heavy needed to be X strapped Down, Ratchet on the front, secured to the Trailer to the Rear and Reverse when Ratcheted at the Rear
Which side of the family has gorgeous red hair on that handsome son of yours? I love your family. Thanks for sharing them with us.
Great video. Just can’t get enough of their videos. What awesome people they are. God bless. ❤️❤️👍👍🙏🙏❤️❤️
Watching this on my laptop rather than phone. Sure love the country you live in. And the blue sky with clouds is super!!
I love your channel as well as Matt’s, Robby’s, Rory’s but I can only take so many recovery’s. Your fabs are the best. In this case the Airstream recovery was especially enjoyable. Great job!
Fab Rat Certified pin, Love it.
Thanks,I’ve won everything!!!
I saw it with a “messege “ from somewhere
Stay safe
Awesome man you are fixing the road for him that is going above beyond
You guys are awesome. You guys are just bad asses at everything you do. My wife is jealous because of how much I love you guys Lol
