Lizzy yelling at me "Sean come back the're only kids" while everyone else laughed there heads off. Fixing that guy's exhaust at the end demonstrates the commitment to customer service, plenty of others would have blown them off.

I really appreciate you guys showing your mistakes and mishaps. Stuff like this happens all the time (just happened to me for the first time the other day). You could've easily left out the part about the XJ running out of gas but you left it in. Recognizing mistakes is a tough thing to do but very admirable.

I was up hunting in the Colorado mountains. Some other hunters across the way couldn't get their truck to move. It would start, but would shut off every time they put it in drive. Tow company comes way up into the mountains to tow his truck out. Tow driver gets in and realizes the parking break is on, truck didn't need a tow at all. The owner of the truck was so pissed at himself. I bet that was expensive to have someone come up and turn off his parking break.
Similar thing happened to my mom when I was a kid, we were in the Kmart parking lot and when we went to leave, our truck just wouldn't move. Called a tow, but he knew right away what was wrong - the transfer case was in neutral. One of us kids must've kicked it out of gear getting out. Still charged us for the call...

Hey Matt.....I learned long ago not to trust any gas gauge! I always keep the tank topped up when it gets to half on the gauge and you know what.....I haven't run out of gas in 30 years.
when you think you brought too much for the job here is a saying that will make you feel better, lol: "better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it" hugs and God bless.
I said that to a former supervisor, one time, and he cocked his head like a confused dog. LOL. Then he decided I was making sense, with that statement. Because I went to the parts store earlier and got a large box of multiple types and sizes of automotive fuses.

If you know what you're doing a FWD car is fairly capable (To a degree...). The key is knowing what you're doing and having years driving in those conditions.

I was fixing a woman's car window, broken in a robbery. I got some plastic and tape to patch it up. Next thing I know she's got a hold of one side of the plastic. I asked "You grew up on a farm, didn't you?" She looked at me in amazement - "How did you know?" "Because you chipped in to help without being asked."
Matt, I have a couple of old (40 years Plus) with unreliable gas gauges. All I do is just eyeball the fuel level and then prior to going out to the job, I top off the tank every time! This works for me.

Matt, I know you know that modern in-tank pumps cool themselves by sitting in that fuel. Shortens their life to run out too. Can you just have Tucker edit that out?

I believe the issue with your gauge might be due to difference in resistance. The gause and sender should be matched to the same resistance to read correctly, and if the gauge has a differing resistance ito the sender it could be reading either hight or low. Though, I am not there, nor do I claim to be an expert. TLDR: make sure the sender and gauge have matched resistance.
Love the channel. Always waiting for a new video to come out. Curious on when you decide or how you decide when something is on you to fix or if it is just part of the recovery and the customer will have to pay for it to get fixed. You guys are awesome. From Omaha Nebraska
i’m guessing based on Matt’s consistent customer service that he let’s the customer know what happened. The options, and If the customer says sure you can fix it for me I think it becomes part of a video. Seeing some of the cars stuck in some knarly places I think most people are welcoming his generosity. It seems from all the car channels that most people drive a vehicle literally into the ground with little thought to maintenance or service. The percentage of vehicle caretakers and nuts is probably a lot less than we think.

Matt, you need to have the tow truck follow you on all your recoveries. That way you never have to worry about running out of gas.

i’m guessing based on Matt’s consistent customer service that he let’s the customer know what happened. The options, and If the customer says sure you can fix it for me I think it becomes part of a video. Seeing some of the cars stuck in some knarly places I think most people are welcoming his generosity. It seems from all the car channels that most people drive a vehicle literally into the ground with little thought to maintenance or service. The percentage of vehicle caretakers and nuts is probably a lot less than we think.

State Farm used to have a commercial jingle that popped into my head as I'm watching Matt fix this guys exhaust system....after pulling him out twice. I don't know if I'll get in trouble for changing the words but ..... "Like a good neighbor.....Matt's Crew is there!"
