Anyone that owned this from the past 2-5 years, do they still work great up to this time? Considering all the good reviews with this all in one active speaker system I am wondering the lifespan of this active bookshelf speakers. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the review. Does the remote control turn the mains power off on BOTH speakers, or only the main speaker? I see that both speakers have separate, mechanical on/off power switches.
The remote turns off each speaker (essentially into a sleep state) however the on/off switch on each of the speakers is for their individual power supplies. Thanks for watching, consider subscribing if you'd like to see more!
I have a question, maybe someone knows, I have had them for a few weeks, does anyone else have a problem with bass reflex, and more specifically with gurgling / wheezing when they are set louder. Less in some songs, more in others. When it happens, such a bassless moment without treble is very audible. Is this a problem for this series or I have a faulty copy, the music sounds good, mainly via BT from the phone, but only high quality 44Hz 320kbps rips. I still have an edifier s730 and no problem there. I checked it on one track is on CYBERPUNK 2077 SOUNDTRACK - RUN by Steven Richard Davis & Kings of Collapse ”you can hear very strongly from the beginning.
Great review Richard! I’m really keen to get these and mainly want to use them on my MacBook Pro via Bluetooth. How do you find the latency with Bluetooth when using Aptx? I’ll mainly use them for watching UA-cam videos and Netflix 😊
Thanks, I'm glad you liked the review! The speakers were sent out on a temporary basis so I will have to recall from memory. I do think that there was a little bit of latency which seems to be typical of Bluetooth, but I have no devices that support Bluetooth 5.0 yet so I was testing on Bluetooth 4.2 and primarily tested with music listening. I imagine it may be better if you have a device that supports Bluetooth 5.0. I hope this helps, thanks for watching!
Wow you nailed your presenting of this slick and no rubbish... I put these to Darko Audio in the comments of his latest review which is coincidentally and helpfull for being on topic, of a pair of SVS Prime Wireless Pros... He pointed out that the Edifier S3000 Pros do not have HDMI arc connection or a streaming board. But I pointed out I don't care and that there's no umbilical connector which is the big issue I have with my room. No reply to that!... But are the EDIFIER S3000s still the only system with no umbilical or what? Edit I Have subbed you young man!
@Richard Tech Is sound quality good via usb port ? Should I buy audio interface like scarlett 2i2 ? My motherboard has 4 audio ports and supports 7.1 channel speaker. Can I connect this speaker via rca cable ?
Yes I would say so, I mainly tested the speakers using the USB connection and I was very happy with how it sounded, it does indeed also support RCA, I show all of the inputs at 1:44.
Thank you for the review. I am considering the S3000 at the moment as I will be moving to a much smaller space. With regards to the wireless connection between the two speaker, may i know if there is an amplifier in the second speaker too? Wouldn’t that makes it like a mono block system? Just curious. Thanks again.

Quick question! When I have the speakers set to the lowest possible volume, they're still quite loud and I cannot figure out how to adjust this. Has anyone else had this issue? The lowest sound setting almost sounds like it's already up 5 or 6 notches. Is there a way to calibrate this? Thanks
Yes you can, the speakers can get quiet if you need them to be. Thanks for watching the review, if you found the video useful please consider subscribing!
@@RichardTech do you think you could even tell the difference in sound quality on low-ish volume between the S2000mkiii and the S3000pro? I plan on using them as computer speakers. Just not sure the extra money is worth it, since I probably won’t be bumping them very often
This is from memory but I don't think there would be a substantial difference when using them as computer speakers. I believe the S3000Pro have larger woofers which may give slightly better bass performance, but if you're planning to listen at moderate and quiet volumes the S2000Mk3 should do just fine - they're still a very capable set of speakers.
Hi Richard, thanks for informative n great video! Btw, may I get your subjective opinion, is s3000 pro clear enough for listening tv show of movies from netflix?

I'm not really an audiophile but I just want really good sound. I'm thinking of getting a Denon PMA-800 amp and a set of speakers to go with it, but after seeing this Edifier, do you think it's worth getting the amp? Could these Edifiers alone do it for me? I just want something I can play music on using Bluetooth and perhaps a CD player next time and also connect to the TV.
Hey there - unless you are planning to use the AMP for mixing audio sources I can’t imagine there’s a substantial benefit as the speakers are self-powered so they should be able to provide what you’re looking for out of the box. However, you can always get an amp if you feel like you need it further down the line versus getting both in one go. Hope this helps - thanks for watching the video, consider subscribing to see more!
I didn’t specifically test with rock, but I did listen to some indie tracks and the speakers did a good job. Thanks for watching the review, if you’d like to see more videos please consider subscribing!
I think these are awesome for that. I like to listen to paramore for example. You can adjust the tuning to your liking with the presets and dials for bass and treble. I dont understand how this guy doesnt hear a difference between presets because they do actualy make a noticable difference with monitor being the flattest, classic has more treble sparkle, vocal brings the mids forward slightly(great for guitars and female vocals) and dynamic has more bass and treble which i use for low volume listening. You will find the right tuning for your liking with these but beware everytime you turn them off or switch inputs it will go back to classic(default).
I do agree with your point here, there are some workarounds but they are... workarounds. Thanks for watching the review, if you found the video useful please consider subscribing!
Agreed. No way small bookshelfs can fill out the sound properly. Asking too much from the woofer/midrange and something sadly has to give. I wouldnt buy these or any other active speakers without a sub out. Maybe at desktop or in bedroom, but that’s it

If you can’t hear the difference between the modes, you’re in the wrong business friend
he probably does not understand how dsp works, so just ran through presets and didn't wait for dsp to kick in.
