Cat is still working, good.
I bought myself a pair of these Edifier S3000 Pro's last week. After 7 days of intensive listening to them I can only say that every word Zeos has said about these is true. Probably even more than true. You can not convey in a 24 minute video what these speakers really sound like and what they are really capable of. I spent 2 months reading reviews and watching comparison video's and specs on the internet. Looked at all candidates in the price range of up to $2000 but in the end these Edifier S3000 Pro were my choice. I'll be using them for personal music listening enjoyment as well as mixing and mastering audio recordings. Thank you ZEOS for the amazing work you do. I am very grateful to you.
@@user85937 I wish I could think of a way to convince you that I wrote what I wrote out of enthusiasm. Nobody asked me to write this reply, nobody pays me to write anything (I wish they did!). I'd invite you to my home to come, see and listen to the speakers at my place. It is however my guess that you live in the United States, and I live in The Netherlands (Europe). But don't take my word for it, just buy them from Amazon and if you don't like what you hear, just return them and buy something else. But if you do like them as much as I do, please come back here and let me know! Best wishes, Jan.
@@John_van_Kleef As someone in the Netherlands, if it wasn't for this damn pandemic I'd probably take you up on this. Although I'm eyeing the S2000's as I don't need the wireless connection and could use the savings made from that choice, I imagine they're somewhat similar.
@@Vayshen The S3000's are not just about bluetooth wireless connection. As a matter of fact, I don't use that feature at all. it's about the ribbon tweeter and the DSP controlled cross-overs. The S3000 is the only monitor this size that does NOT require a subwoofer. Officially specified as going down as low as 38 Hz, it is my experience that they go a hell of a lot lower. Soundstage and imaging are sublime too. Much better than on the S200's. I mix and master on them for professional productions. You should really come and listen to them before you make a definite decision on the S2000's.
@@Vayshen The S2000mkiii's are essentially the S3000 pros not so little brother. I splurged and purchased both the see what they were about and compared/contrasted them to swans mk200s, Klipsch, some jbls and Kali's Ive owned and the Edifiers are truly phenomenal. I ended up returning the S3000pros because I didnt feel the performance to cost ratio to the S2000mkiiis was justified. Unless you really need wireless of course. As far as bass performance is concerned they are quite surprising for a 5 1/2 driver, alarmingly so much so that I ended up putting away my beloved B&W 608 sub. I honestly feel as tho adding a sub with these just does the speakers a disservice. These have some of if not the the best articulated, fast and extended low end(dipping ever so slightly into the 20's even) Ive heard for the 400$ dollar point, even compared to some other higher end passive loud speakers nearing the 1k mark. I would even consider these over a dedicated amp/dac system, in fact I just may consider selling some of my gear because of these.
Im gushing at this point but these are truly remarkable speakers, to which I was not expecting. I know people swear by a scalable/modular system, but these could be all you need, for listening and possibly monitoring. Many shun powered speakers, but Edifier is doing something incredible with these, considering they use what looks like high end quality drivers and their electronics aswell. Especially the DSP, which I feel just blows even high quality passive crossovers away. You will not regret the S2000mkiii's if you get them, needless to say
After a ton of research and watching reviews on here and Reddit, i watched your review and bit the bullet on these. I tried them in 3 different room settings (Study - on my desk, Lounge - alongside the TV on their dedicated S3000 Stands, and finally in my bedroom where I think they sound unbelievable. Once they are properly positioned and on stands and have enough room to breathe, these are arguably the best sounding speakers I've ever heard. I wholeheartedly agree with your feelings about these speakers, they truly are phenomenal and punch way above their price. The timing, depth and soundstage and not to mention the high end of those Planar tweeters are fantastic. I'm loving every minute of them.
How they compare to the vanatoo transparent one encore?
Upgraded from the JBL 305p mkii's and oh my god the S3000pro's have so much power im scared to push them in my apartment for fear of getting booted out due to a noise complaint, ha. Worth every cent of the $700 I paid in Australia.
Hey mate I know this is a old comment but where did you pick yours up from?
@@Owen-np3wf I picked mine up on sale from Amazon Austrlia for around $850. Don't get them from anywhere else. Other places seem to gouge the hell out of the price, like PC Case Gear, I think they're listed for $1000, used be $1100-$1200
@@bones3594 yeah I had a look on there and on ebay, both seem to go on sale for around 850 direct from edifier which is pretty solid over the other retailers. Cheers for that!
Just received these today. They sound absolutely wonderful. Thanks for this video which made up my mind to buy them 👍
Recently bought these but read something that concerns me. Since the left speaker connects wirelessly via Kleernet, and Kleernet can stream up to 16/44.1, does that mean these speakers cannot produce audio in any higher quality than CD? I.E. streaming from Qobuz at 24/192 for example. Would love a solid answer on this but can't seem to find one.
I saw this review last year and was engaged by how you talked about these speakes, pulled the plug about 6 months ago and couldn't be happier. The video doesnt do it justice of how clear and good these sound. Thank you so much!
How has the wireless connection held up -- have you ever had any problems with it?
@@CinemaDemocratica This is what worries me. I'd rather have wire.
@@karlos543 On other platforms I've gotten quite a few responses from people who've never had a problem, but still it makes me a *little* nervous. I've got the s2000mkiii's in my home office but I can snag a pair of these, new in the box, for $399, so I'm kinda wondering how big the mistake can possibly be, here. :D
Just bit the bullet and got myself a pair after seeing this review and couldn't be any happier. These are replacing my old pair of b&w dm12 speakers. Few days after I also gave in and bought the flirc which makes my listening experience tons easier and more relaxing than needing the get up to my keyboard all the time.
Its been 12 months since this review. You've reviewed a lot of speakers in this time. Is this still the best sound you can get for the money?
ua-cam.com/video/P2Syr7gDcJs/v-deo.html I think this sums it up.
Yes!
How much bass can I expect from these? I don't expect them to shake my small apartment, but is there any "feeling" to the bass? Is it possible to hookup a sub without a lot of additional equipment? Currently I'm looking to upgrade a soundbar which has a good amount of bass, but it also has some weird compressor/limiter "feature" which makes listening to music less enjoyable. Thanks.
They do shake walls
KEF Q350 + NAD C 338 at 661 euro or Edifier s3000pro?
Question for you.
Are these edifers better than the klipsch fives paired with a klipsch sub?
Hey Zeos! I love the reviews. I bought an edifier s760d 5.1 system before seeing this. They cost the same as the S3000 pros. Would you recommend these over the S760d? It's on my pc desk for gaming, music, and sometimes movies. Thanks!
How're the tweeters and imaging in these compared to the Adam T5v's? I'd love to save up more and get a more feature rich pair of speakers, but would I be losing anything when using them for music production at a desk (generally)? Are these just as good if they're mostly used close up?
syst3m08 I do hope Z shares his views on this one!
They’re stellar close by. All the Edifiers do well at low volumes.
That anime you said was good deserves a full length review, from you!
This company shot into my view out of no where. I finally bought my first pair of actual speakers, the 1280DBs, and I love them. The build materials and input features at the price points for this company is unreal.
Do some eq adjustments and play with the sliders. Since I've received them from my dad, I stayed with then on neutral but a couple of days ago I played with the eq and they sound more spacious so give it a try
Yes, same here. I bought the 1280DBs and added the T5 sub from day 1 on the strength of all the reviews we've heard and hasn't regretted it in the 2 weeks since. It doesn't et as loud as my 5.1.2 Atmos system in the hall but my God it has changed the way we listen to and appreciate music, TV and movies. Thank you Edifier for pricing it so affordably. It has no reason to be this good but it is. I'm even thinking of selling my Monitor Audio/Onkyo system which cost more than 10x as much. Thanks Z for the always wonderful, detailed and entertaining reviews that helped me decide. Now, I am really intrigued by the S2000 and S3000 - they sound like phenomenal speakers. Too bad, the pro audio shops are shunning Edifier and we can't get to listen to them before buying in Singapore!
So... Edifier S3000Pro or Klipsch RP600M??????????????? (Yes, I know the Klipsch is not a powered speaker, just asking about the SOUND comparison.)
so at the end of the day would you go for the Edifier1850's with a sub or S3000Pro's with out a sub used for TV SPEAKERS for movie / sports / and music....thx.....cheers from Canada
What does everyone think of upgrading from the R1850db to this model? I love my 1850s but they've got a bit of the usual glare in the upper mid and low treble. I'm looking to upgrade the sound, but preserve the functionality, versatility, value and build quality. The M4's don't offer nearly as much on the rear apron, but what about these as a good candidate?
Hey Zeos - great review. A quick question - do you reckon these would work as a part of a desktop setup (a little gift to myself), set up either side of a 160cm desk, circa 1m away from me? The idea would be to run them with both the laptop & the mobile via bluetooth. Appreciate the advice!
Ohhh how I have been waiting for this review
Been following your channel for a while and was debating between the S2000 Pro and S3000 Pro, then finally deciding on the latter. Got them for around $420 in my country and I'm amazed with them.
are the s3000 good at low volume near a pc for background music?
@@yuriythebest Absolutely. I believe these were made to fill a small/medium living room, let alone at your own desk.
@@PokemonBakuganFreak thanks! Yup I meant if they were "too powerful" for comfort on a desk or if it's me just being paranoid?
@@yuriythebest You'll be fine.
@@PokemonBakuganFreak thanks!
do you recommend to get these instead of the swans m200mkiii? i am considering between these 2 sets. will be using the speaker for my PC, 70% music listening, 20% movie, 10% for gaming
Tell the guys at work your good at pegging
Don't forget to dock!
my girlfriend is good at pegging which is why she's my girlfriend.
I tell them everyday. They are very impressed and ask for demonstrations
So I am looking for speakers, which will mainly be attached to my laptop/PC, and I am looking fro something that has good base and it's loud enough. Should I be better off with a 2.1? I could get a decent 5.1/7.1 for less than half of the price of these Edifiers but I love being tidy and keep minimal things in my room so I'd love to not have all those cables laying around. Any suggestions?
I had no idea the speakers could talk to eachother wirelessly, thanks for pointing that out! Even when knowing this, it’s difficult to find this in the specs on the websites of the retailers that sell them. Clearly an underappreciated feature. I now get why the Dynaudio Xeos were stopped 😀👍
I inherited two Bang & O Beolab 4000 bookshelf I am using for fronts with two subs. Can I run two edifier s3000 together for a center channel or two Micca rb2 or HSU CCB-8? Sitting area is 13’ away from front speakers.
Do these speakers have a DSP crossover, active analogue crossover or passive crossover?
Quick question if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it. I want these speakers for my living Room 2.0 set up but I need the master speaker (R) on the left and vise versa as I have a fire place in the way and don't want to run cables all frond the front, so same set up as Z in the video. How is this done and will I lose any audio quality or anything by doing this? Master speaker will be plugged into the TV via optical and I'm looking to get a cheap streaming DAC like Chromecast Audio or Yamaha WXAD10 so I can stream my Spotify connect and Tidal, what would be the best way to connect it to the speaker.
Thanks
JB
He does it by switching the left and right cables from the Dac to right and left on the speakers. It shouldn't reduce audio quality at all.
@@ZachBZera thanks for the reply, would it affect the sound from the TV through optical cable like how would the TV no to switch the L/R sound to the opposite speakers . Or can you do that it TV settings
Thanks

Should we move from S350DB to S3000? On the S3000, how are the basses? Are they comparable to the S350?
Adam audio T5V/T7V or Edifier S3000 Pro for music and gaming on a desktop?
Having the exact same doubt rn, also with the KEF Q350, which did you go with?
I have the Edifier S2000MKIII and I love them ! Best speakers I ever had , even better than my Meridian LG 7.1 home theater system ! My next upgrade will be the S3000pro for sure !
I know these pair of speakers sound great without a subwoofer, but can you connect one with it and how? like do you need a separate amplifier to hook them up with a sub? or can you do it through the xlr ports in the back?
Hello, thank you very much for the video. How is the quality of the built-in DAC for use with USB?
Can you review the new S3000MKII ? :)
I have a set of these but they don't sound great...What equipment are you using them with
And how is it connected....
Magic. That is exactly what I felt after a few hours of auditioning these speakers. I got them as desktop speakers (overkill) but after moving them back and sitting away. Oh my goodness. It's so so so clear and precise. Especially on tamil music like "Vaan" by A.R Rahman. The air in the music is rich and endless. Superb choice!
Ramesh, please tell me. You have put them on your office near your desktop? I'm asking you because i want to buy them for my desktop also.
@@ilias-lakisservos7801 these speakers are huge. If you have the space, go for it.
@@Ramesh_Muthusamy I have the space on my desk. But i wonder ... will they operate well if i don't have them on their stands, but have them on my desk, beside my desktop and in front of the wall?
@@ilias-lakisservos7801 mine are on the table.
Hi Ramesh . Can we get good stands too in India. If Yes pl inform which one and from where.
I currently have a Sony Shake x30D and I'm looking for something smaller, these s3000pro speakers look fantastic, are they loud though? My shake was more of a bass monster and want very loud.
Z please tell me !!! This EDIFIER S3000 pro or KEF R300 with amplifier ? I know is price difference, but i just care for a sound quality!! With one is better? Thanks
Just got mine and I can't believe how good they sound coming from the edifier r1700bt (which also sound amazing for what they cost).
I have ordered these ... can I use my topping DAC with these ?
That bass is just nuts! Even thru UA-cam you can hear them pump!🤓
I just realized that was a picture of Spike and Swordfish II above the TV!!!! lol Oh, and the speakers sound ok too. :)
Would you recommend these to someone wanting good speakers to play music (Nightwish, Metallica, Techno) through in a small room (9x12) and to play guitar along with while getting good bass sound? Or would I be better served with like the 1200DB, 1800DB, or 1000 Pro? And I will be running them through an Audioengine D1 DAC via my PC.
You are correct: Got mine today. This is the most impressing activ speakers I have ever had. USB-connected to PC and the sound is just great, even at low level.
When you use the xlr input ,you bypassed the DAC right ?
PLZ, what are the 2 small speakers in the back you use to compare with the Edifiers ?
These make my sub sing. Amazing!
Just got a pair of S3000 Pros delivered today. Z was not kidding. I am freakin dumbfounded, this coming from JBL 580’s and dual 10 inch subs. My brain still cannot reconcile the sound coming from these little boxes. I’ll write more once my brain calibrates.
Did you hear swan m300 ? How edifier s3000 compare to swan ?
@@sofiacucci7494 I actually ordered and compared them both directly. Short version: Edifier S3000 Pro’s win by a mile. Swans got sent back. The m300’s are veiled and don’t extend as deep or as cleanly as the edfiers.
The edifiers are crystal clear sounding and just incredible to listen to. I liked them so much i bought my sister the S2000 pros by edifier and my mom the S2000mkiii. I would take either of those over the swans if i was on a budget.
I honestly don’t understand how Z recommends the swans, they just aren’t very “hifi” speakers.
Great, just great! I've watched this video maybe 5 times and you've convinced me to buy these speakers that I never even knew existed, let alone needed. Thanks, thanks very much. They will be replacing KRK Rokit 8's.
Nagaoka MP-110 to Schiit Mani to Edifier S3000Pro
Hi Mr. Zee what's the best speaker for you?
Coz I'm saving some money to buy a good pair of speakers.
Thank you in advance!
What are the little red cubed speakers firing to the ceiling in your room? Peter
Can anybody tell if the dsp works when using the xlr connection? On the 2000 the dsp only works on rca and optical. Tnx in advance
Does this have a sub output? Or is the Tuk still the best with sub output and high pas filter
another great review /rant from my favourite crazy dude 🤘👍 about to pull the trigger on these
Does anyone know or have experience about the presonus hd 9 (are they good close back for a under 100$ cans?)

Why there do not have SUB out :/, also no FUSE outside, for me big dowsides.
S3000pro vs b&w formation duo?
Almost bought the duo last week.. How much do i give up?
Came for the review, stayed and subscribed for your style. Replacing my almost decade-old HK Soundsticks with these, placed an order last night after sitting through all 25 minutes of informative comedy (I mean it in a good way) and can't wait!
Can you plug a turntable into these speakers and what do they sound like with using a vinyl collection?
I plug my at lp120 turntable straight into them, and it sounds amazing 👌
Hey z!!! This ones or the Klipsch rp600? Both are $500 now...
Could someone please tell me how these compare to some Behringer 2031a or 3031a with a decent DAC like an smsl su9? Are the s3000pro better than a decent monitor with a decent DAC? Any response would be appreciated. Wish I could pop around to Z's place as I know he has this gear and rates it highly! I'm really keen to know this comparison.
I'd love to buy these after watching your review, but I'm buying these to use in my office / man cave and will put them on a desk or table which also has my computer on it. I watched your review of the S2000 Pro and Swan MKIII. Are one of those two still the best choices in the $400 range? I just can't justify getting these for the $800. I want to connect from my PC sound card using an optical input so I think the Swan's are out. Thanks
What was the frist app you use with the Bluetooth?
They look great, Not sure about audioengine but the Kef LSX use a proprietary wireless protocol too
I had a chance to test these really quick, it came with 1 tweeter not working so had to return it. From what I heard, the tweeter that was working sounded disconnected to the woofer. Something seemed to be missing in the midrange area. I could be wrong though.
How are these near-field on a desk?
Spectacular. Even at low volume.
Z reviews I want to step my audio quality game up, I have the krk Rokit 10 do you think the Edifier S3000Pro a upgrade?
always love your reviews. but i always see your awesome canvas print behind your lifted screen. where did you get that made and for that size "format" ?
Can i use these as speakers for my digital piano? Can i expect any delay issues? Thanks
went looking for m300s for my living room after loving the m200mkiii for years, sold out everywhere. I saw the edifier s2000 mkiii which has the old umbilical the the s2000 pros did, but otherwise they seem like identical scaled down versions of these. They are now in my living room and are fantastic. I'm a bit sad since I don't have a reason to get the bigger swans but I'm not sad at the audio quality in my living room
Hello, you videos are really helpful, can you recommend a passive speakers for my Sony TV and overall listening to music ? Planning to pair them with my Denon amp, budget aroud 900 dollars. Thank you
Did you do a comparison these verses? S3000 Mii I’m curious to know what is the real difference besides the Twitter which one is the newer speaker newer iteration? and what makes the difference between either or in terms of scale of sound and dynamics I would really love to know as I can’t seem to find this information. It’s hard to find a video where people are comparing speakers simultaneously.
What do you think about the klipsch the sixes compared to the Edifier s3000
I’m just an owner who has heard both. Not a professional reviewer. Sixes were cool but muddled in mids, and highs are way too sparkly. Klipsch sound outside of their high end lines at every unnatural sound. Edifier has nailed, absolutely nailed, the clarity and natural sound. With the kind of low end we get on Edifier S3000 Pro it’s almost the last thing for most apartments. It’s not audiophile-y enough (showoff value) but sound wise it easily outclasses gear from much more expensive and well known brands that have way too much fragmentation in their offerings. Monitor audio, dynaudio, KEF... why all those levels of gold and silver and whatnot? Stupid.
Suitable for Front LH & RH surround sound speakers?
Thank you for the review, it helped convince me to buy a pair. They are going for $670 AUD in Australia at the moment via an online PC retailer. That's about $470 USD. More than happy with their sound 🔊. Thanks again!
$470!? link?
Hi Ben, I am from Darwin, good to see your comment how lucky I am haha. Would you please let me know where do you buy your pair from? which online seller?
Can you connect 2 sets to have 4 speakers playing at the same time ?
i'm still rocking the S-1000 series and they're still awesome
How can i find bases like these for mine S3000Pro?
Goddamn... edifier's come a long way since it used to be just an 'entry level' brand ~10 years ago.
You don't see that kind of brand curve very often.
There are some really spicy DSP's out there.
I love Edifier
Eh, Fiio?
Does placement of the left and right speaker matter when using optical connection? My set up allows for the right speaker to be on the left side.
I have the same issue too, but I intend to use XLR from my dac. My take is that sound source to DAC via optical then DAC to speaker via XLR cable switched like what Zeos done.
Does the speakers go to "Classic" mode after turning on, like in the S2000MKIII or does the chosen mode stay the same as when turning off(e.g. "dynamic")?
It remembers the last used setting. So if you had it on "dynamic" when you turned it off the previous session, it will turn on again in "dynamic" mode.
Vandersteen and Pass Labs formed my reference system for years, alternating with a tube setup centered around Cary Audio / Dennis Had SETs. I've had open baffle speakers, omnis, 4-ways down to overachiever bookshelves like Totem Mani2. That was my 'career' and in my 'retirement' I shopped for a 'fishing boat'.
Backtrack to 2003 on a temporary job assignment to Shanghai and needed something better for the serviced apartment. I went to the local computer mall looking for a 2.1 system like Logitech or Bose computer speakers... as I walked past this mall stand, I heard an undeniable midrange neutrality that promised to sound good on any recording. The highs were smooth and extended and the bass was surprisingly deep and mud-free. A quick inspection showed a sealed subwoofer box instead of the usual ported designs in this genre. An 8in sealed sub, 4in mids and 0.75in tweeters all with amplification at 100W, 10W, 10W respectively.
That was my first contact with Edifier. The price was a shock at
Edifier was founded by audio enthusiasts from what I understand. The founders and key engineers were quite active on Chinese audiophile and DIY speaker/amplifier building forums in the early-2000s when I was trying to find out more about the company. It's nice to see that their price point still beats what a capable engineer with DIY skills can make.
These are an amazing value that can only happen because of the production volume and component pricing, that someone as large as Edifier can do, using their vertically integrated manufacturing.
Hello, thanks for your comment here. I just got a pair of these and very impressed with the sound quality. I have 2 doubts. I can hardly hear any difference between the sound modes like dynamic, classic etc. Secondly, I am not sure if the small display at the front bottom of the main speaker is supposed to show the name of the sound mode like dynamic classic etc. Mine doesn't and I am not sure whether there is anything wrong with the speakers. Your inputs will be highly appreciated. TIA.
Does this sound better than SVS Ultra Bookselfs?
I'd assume a lot of that would depend on the amp (and DSP) you use on the SVS Ultras.
I wonder, how do these high end speakers compare to headphones at "the same" price range, in term of sound quality? Anyone has any take on this matter?
In my experience they are better.
thoughts between these and the adams t5v? where i'm from, their prices are really close.
Will i have more fun with these instead of the LSR305s?
I have LSR 305's as my desk speakers, and as great as they are, they are not on the level as these S3000 pro's in the high end or the bass. I will likely grab the S3000 pro's for my TV and leave the LSR 305's on my desk.
Yes
How do they compare with Klipsch rp-600m?
+1
RP600M has emaciated bass. Needs a subwoofer, so...many cables and additional cost.
Can you review the edifier s360db
Patiently waiting for a review on the other speakers you mention a lot in this video. What else but the Vanatoo Encore's...
Can't tell the difference between wood and wrap?
In Taiwan they can be found for less than 650$. BUT I DON'T NEED THEM, STOP TEMPTING ME, FUUUUUUUU
You need to try this one, got them and I can't stop listening with it. Pay attention what Z mentioned here. You don't need a sub-woofer; the bass resonates in a sub-sonic frequency. You can put it all around the house since it doesn't need to connect to each other. I was planning to get KEF LS50 but I got this instead. It out performs everything all that Z mentioned earlier for less money. It has a built-in USB DAC so when you connect it to a laptop or desktop or mac, the sound is amazing.
@@renovatio6971 what about nearfild? They are good?
@@pedrogoncalves2948, i've been trying them in anyway i can and I have no disappointments. Because they are not required to connect each other, you have more flexibilty and of course you just need to power them up. I tried them in my bathroom (6x8) when I have my 1 hr bubble bath, just extend the pwer wires outside my door. Low volume mode with the bass and treble full and play bass boasted MTV in youtube tru my phone via bluetooth. The sound is amazing, very tight bass bouncing off my walls. S3000Pro
These are actually work out to be $50 cheaper in the UK than the US?! Damn you Z I might have to get these. My excuse is my current actives are cutting out so they are totally fucked, cant be repaired and need replacing right away correct?
Can i connect a musicstreamer on the edifiers?
zi please help me. the web is full of misinformation, especially in my language. what should I add, to make my s3000 pro sound with my Presonus powered sub woofer. I love it and wouldn't want to sell it. before I used yamaha Hs8 speakers + sub Presonus and I connected everything in a "cascade". but now with the s3000pro I can't, having only IN on the speakers.
Zeos - Please tell me how I can get my M300's repaired! I've had them for 5 months and yesterday they just died - no sound whatsoever. Now they have NO WEBSITE. So far they've cost me $100 per month.
