MJ was like that 80-82 games a season...full speed...both ends of the court...hurt, sick, or tired....unlimited energy...against 7ft bigs, taking elbows, shoulders, punches, and tackles and STILL scoring...he'd crush today's no-hand-checking, give me space, no defense league....GOAT and it's not even close...

Yeah, I agree. MJ blows away the competition. Who wins 2 separate 3 peats and retires 2 times in the same decade 1990-1999 and comes out victorious? Michael Jordan, is the only player capable of doing that. I was born in Feb. 1978 so I watched all NBA players. Nobody was as electric like MJ. People seem to forget Michael won the 1984/85 Rookie of the Year, 10 Scoring Titles, the 1987 & 1988 Slam Dunk Competition, 2 Olympic Gold Medals etc.

You can be honest and still give MJ his props. The greatest athlete by far is wilt and if MJ had no flaws then west, elgin, bird, Doc, had no flaws to a higher extent but simply having no flaws is not enough to be better than someone who is elite at almost everything to a far greater extent than the things your good at or might be greater at. Which is why Wilt is better than all of these guys despite having one flaw of FTs yet in an era where wrist carrying backdown punishment etc… are all illegal
Alll that being said MJ is Fosho great and one of the most entertaining ever. Most people whom grew up on him and after from 90s-today haven’t seen a more exciting or think they’ve saw a better player in their primes, and rightfully so

Greatest Sportsman of all time? I would put him in the Pele, Ali category, he is on that level, as Iconic as it can be for his sport and to a point where even people outside this sport know who he is, and can see , because its that obvious, that he is immense. The ultimate level of brilliance basically in sports, if someone told me he was the greatest sportsman of all time? even though football is my first love? yeh I could accept that (not sure you can compare really across sports)

10:10 The reason this moment is significant is because at the time, there was a media narrative that Clyde Drexler was just as good as Michael Jordan, but with a better three point shot. Michael jordan responded by saying before the finals against them "Clyde is a better three point shooter than I choose to be."
He then proceeded to break the NBA record for most three pointers made in a finals game in the half with 6 while sitting 6 minutes in the first half and despite not playing the full half, he also still has the record for most points in a finals game half in that game with 35.
He also outshot clyde drexler from 3 for the rest of the series, shooting 43%
Michael Jordan was the only player that could literally break records at will 😂

You will notice, this Mixtape was produced by the NBA. If you want to know what the higher ups REALLY think about the GOAT debate, with the exception of the Kobe tape (which he's phenomenal, yes) but likely very long because of the "tribute" to his sudden passing, the Jordan mixtape is significantly longer than ANY other tape in the archive. The NBA knows who made this league, and quite frankly, who STILL makes it, but they have to MARKET LeFraud to try and make themselves relevant still today. What makes MJ great is his total athleticism. EVERYTHING about the man's game was solid, and he had an unwavering capacity to change whatever was wrong and make it better. By the end, he was the PERFECT all-around basketball player. Period. Full Stop. What's more important than stats are all the intangibles that MJ brought to the game day in, day out. He played 82 games per season almost his entire career. Even his last season, 82 games at 38, he was still on the floor because he know the fans expected to see him and he didn't want to disappoint. He played the game because he loved it. Because of that competitive spirit, which for him was almost a curse. But he also played the game for the fans, and he respected this idea. That was really his gift, his respect for the fans to never want to disappoint them. And we loved him for it. That is why he will ALWAYS be the best above everyone else. Not because of his stats, which were other worldly, but because of everything else that you can't quantify, but you know is there.

No weaknesses. Add in the strongest will to win, the inspiration of mamba mentality, and you have the goat.
He averaged 30+ in an era when 90 points was an average score for a team. He's easily 40+ in today's NBA

You have just witnessed the greatest mixtape ever. True its way better than larrys and i put jordan above bird but remember the reason jordan became the billy goat.
As earlier in his career he had to battle the likes of bird magic kareem worthy isiah dr j malone sampson hakeem dominique and so many more.
His rookie year was 1984 when larry and magic were in their prime then a little later the bad boy pistons. He never won a ring in the 80s as most teams were stacked with hall of famers but he battled them anyway. So when all their careers came to an end jordan took over and dominated in the 90s.

I legit dont even mind sharing this but as a kid -- I remember seeing Michael Jordans photo before a bulls game reiterating that he is a starter in a game that's about to be played & I FEARED HIS EXISTENCE!!!! WTF???? (This was for as far back as my memory serves me. I was a TODDLER.)

MJ would destroy the league today. No one could stop him from taking it to the basket when he was in the league and in today's game that puts so much emphasis on spacing and none on keeping players from driving to the basket he would be totally unstoppable.

Watching Jordan play is like watching someone paint a masterpiece & it literally takes your breath away or almost emotional. Their will never be anyone like him. Some of these clips I didn't see before & I thought I've seen all the really good ones. Like that one clip where he missed a block then successfully blocked him on the way down with his other hand that is complete insanity.

    In the last 50 years, Career Résumé - Total Achievements: (Titles / MVPs / Finals MVPs / 1st All-NBA / 1st All-DEF / Scoring Titles/ All-Star MVPs)
    1st: Jordan = 49
    2nd: Kobe = 34
    2nd: LeBron = 34
    4th: Kareem = 33
    5th: Duncan = 29

2nd-5th you can debate 2nd-5th place but Jordan is so far ahead of everyone else…it’s not even close. Also the most amazing thing is that Jordan accomplished all this while playing in at least 5 years less than the other players
    ...
