Check out Matt and Tim at mrmaple.com. The second part will be up soon. Thanks for watching.
Are they prepared to support the amount of traffic that they're going to receive on their website tomorrow at 10am? @MrMapleShow
Hello, I've discovered Mr. Maple this winter Mr. Maple and Jim Putnam and also Plant Amnesty videos with Cass Turnbull about plant friendly pruning methods. I'm in Senior Housing so I can't have more than one maple right now. But I've created a shade meditation rock garden here for residents with Japanese elements. I'm in Vermont, so in May I'll be planting a green lace leaf above my dry river. What's even nicer is I've been hired to do my first garden for someone else - the beds around a business, and the owner has agreed to let me plant a lace leaf there too. Wise pruning will be necessary and Cass Turnbull's videos have already taught me some of that. I'm 73 - it's never to late to begin!
Great people and businessmen.
Two plant dudes geeking out... 🤷🏻♀️
Pretty much!!
Did you exchange autographs? 🤭
Oh. Did you talk about the Chocolate Drop Native Azalea? 🤯
I love Mr. Maple. I have purchased a ton of trees and plants from them, and I have never been disappointed.
Thank you for introducing this business to us🙏🏼 my favorite video of yours to date. TY, TY ❣️❣️❣️❣️
Very nice Jim. I've bought several JP's from MrMaple but the biggest fan is my 83 year old mother. lol
Thank you jim and Mister Maple. Wow!
Yeeesss .... Love me some Japanese Maples ..... I have six in and around my yard/garden ..... all different varieties ........ Thanks for sharing ... !!!
Awe!!! I love Mr. Maple! 😃
I love Maple 🍁 Trees they add so much interest 🪴🌺🪴
Jim, these are vids are awesome! Thank you sir. So much great info. Please keep’m coming!!
Thanks for the great video! Two of my favorite dudes in the hort culture for sure. Cheers!
Thank you so very much for visiting. I have purchased trees from them and they are the best. I had a question and got an immediate answer from the guys within 12 hours. Amazing in this world! I have it on my bucket list to visit once they open back to the public.! I have 13 on my property and hope to add more!
I love JMs! 🍁😍
So happy you did this video. Mr Maple is awesome. They should really have their own UA-cam channel.
Love Matt's joy when he talks.
We brought maples from them. Their customers service is awesome and most of my Japanese maples from them are healthy. Wish they were here in Houston!
I purchased an 'Octopus ' Japanese maple from Mr. Maple. Although it arrived only about 6-8" tall last year, it has put on a ton of growth & can't wait for the vivid red fall color. I'm using this as a specimen plant in the center of a garden in front of a window. This maple grows about 6-8' tall & wide with a cascading habit, like Octopus tentacles. Just perfect for the location. I'm in Michigan, zone 6b. If you plant this in an open area, I would recommend protecting from winter winds. Mr. Maple & team are fantastic!
His energy and passion for his trees bleeds through the screen. Love it when people truly enjoy the plants.
OMG! I love both of these channels, what a great collaboration! Absolutely LOVE Japanese Maples !!! ❤ So excited!!!
Love Mr Maples weekly sales!!! So hard to choose just one tree!!
amazing nursery!
Awesome thanks both of you!😀
oh my goodness...I am jealous!
Thank you both, great video - their dad should be very proud
Jim, during the pandemic I discovered your channel which got me into plants and gardening. At the same time, i also found the Mr Maple brothers and got hooked with Japanese Maples right away. Both channels helped me endure this pandemic and I discovered a new passion. I have now more than 70 maple varieties.
It’s so amazing to see y’all together. Keep up the great work and thank you!
Hello, I've had the same experience this winter in discovering Mr. Maple and Jim Putnam and also Plant Amnesty videos with Cass Turnbull about plant friendly pruning methods. I'm in Senior Housing so I can't have 70 varieties. But I've created a shade meditation rock garden here for residents with Japanese elements. I'm in Vermont, so in May I'll be planting a green lace leaf above my dry river. Wise pruning will be necessary and Cass Turnbull's videos have already taught me some of that.
@@paulademichele1313 that’s great! Would love to see the garden you came up with. Such a great idea.
Oh wow!!!
I love Mr Maple channel! How awesome to see this collab. It’s the crossover I definitely needed! ☺️
What a beautiful garden. I love japanese maples.
Just a part two is coming? I could watch this for hours.
I never knew this place existed. Thanks so much! I had to go right to their website and do some shopping 😊
Very cool, looks like you've met your match for enthusiasm Jim.
Thank for the collaboration. You both give so much information. It's nice to see so many people's favorite content creators come together.
Jim, I love watching Mr. Maple's YT videos. I can't wait to see which (because it's impossible to only get one) of their unique trees and shrubs you end up bringing back to plant in your Raleigh, NC landscape. I've purchased several trees from them in the past, and in my zone 5a, I only lost one due to a sudden prolonged deep freeze, which occurred a week after I got my trees planted.
I had to chuckle as I watched this video because of the way both you and Matt Nichols 'talk with your hands'! I'm looking forward to seeing part 2 of your Mr. Maple Nursery tour with Tim because he's a 'hand-talker too, but maybe not quite as much as you and Matt! Please don't take it the wrong way, I do the same thing, so it's kind of refreshing to know that I'm not the only one, lol! ~Margie
Yes indeed and that’s so funny! - Matt
Oh, I ❤️ J maples❣️
I never knew this property was this gorgeous? I would love to tour the grounds. The masonry work is amazing. I got to see if there is a walk around tour of the garden video. What an amazing display garden full of ideas that are PERFECT with Japanese Maples!!!
Wow! Many thanks for opening up my eyes!
These gardens are amazing. I'm pretty sure it would get an approval stamp from my wife as well.
Honest passion, as well as wisdom, draws admiration (and customers). So compelling. Rare in these times of online, ‘influencer’ performance.
Beautiful trees, amazing stone work !
Oh my! Gorgeous display garden! Love these brothers! Awesome information. Thanks Jim.😀
Very timely video. We moved in a year ago and we have a nice Japanese Maple in our yard. Just learning about care and pruning.
Wow looking forward to part two. ☀️🌸
Loved seeing these maple specimen! Awesome!
Looking forward to Pt 2. Thanks for showing me so many cool things!
Absolutely amazing! Wish it was a little longer! The history, the trees! WOW!
Love Mr Maples!!!
I love Japanese Maples and this video opened my eyes to all kinds of new varieties! Can’t wait to purchase one from their site. Thanks for doing a video on them!
I planted two Maples from them, Geisha gone wild and Fireglow. Both came in great shape and are currently growing in pots. I hope to visit them in person some day, thanks for video Jim.
Awesome!
I loved his energy...and seeing this beautiful trees...
Beautiful!
Loved this video! Love Japanese maples! Thanks 😊
Masonry is tremendous, imagine what it looks like in the autumn, maybe HortTube and molly can visit next year during peak colors? Pretty plz.
That’s because they are big boys. At 5”5’ 135 LBs I will never be able to do that masonry beauty. So frustrating when I see boulders listed for free and I can’t even considering it. 😭😭😭
This trip was different . enjoy very much Jim. Thank You Bennie
Thanks for putting this together! I didn't know there was such a broad variety of Japanese maples! I have a lion's head variety and it performs well every year, about half the size to the one in this video.
Such a great interview! Matt was really engaging, natural, and relaxed. I need a Japanese maple for my backyard - I will definitely be reaching out to Mr Maple!
Went fishing in Saluda last week, made the trip and got skunked. If we'd come home with a unique tree, that would have been better!
@@cece_marie 🤣🤣🤣👍
Amazing. My nephew is into bonzi. He will love this. TY
An enchanting piece of property. Looking forward to part 2.
I'm Steve and I'm addicted to Japanese maples in zone 8B. I have 22 cultivars many purchased from Mr Maple and I'm running out of space to grow them do to limited shade trees in my yard. I have a few of the Shantung's out in full sun where they do well as well as the August Blaze (Acer x freemanii) in sun. As those mature they should provide shade for more the delicate varieties- yea!
Great video! Excited for part 2!
Wow that’s a really Nursry!👍
I have a 24 Japanese maple's in a small residential garden... totally crazy. I also have Mikawa yatsubusa as well as Shishigashira , but my new addition is paper bark maple and so in love with all of them. So true about Mikawa yatsubusa , it does look like a bonsai specimen. Thanks Jim , how fun !!!
That's a great collection. Thanks for watching!!
Send me a picture!! I just bought my first one.
@@rosatanner2624 If you are asking me, I don't think I can attach a photo here?
I hope there are more than just two parts to this video!
We went with a dwarf cultivar of Mikawa developed by Talon Buchholz. It has the same habit but is the size of a shrub. Very versatile and changes color throughout the seasons (peach, yellow, lime green). Thank you for reminding people that there is a lot more to Japanese Maples than Bloodgoods...
I love Japanese maples, though I only have 9… thank you for this great video!
The episode that introduced me to Mr. Maple 🍁!!!
Oh I loved this! I have to watch again with a pen and notepad. I didn't see one Japanese beetle! Kinda jealous, I must admit! Also, the stonework is breathtaking!
There are just too many cool japanese maples out there and not enough space in my yard. My next step in my personal journey is to love and admire all the trees I do have. But I still find myself checking mrmaple all the time to see what's new
The ultimate youtube crossover. Love both your channels.
I was so excited for this video, and my excitement was warranted! Cannot wait to see more. Hopefully, I can visit their garden and nursery someday.
Great interview, beautiful place
Love the enthusiasm! I had not heard of these guys great tour and story.
I'm soooo going to have to find a place for some of these! Loved the video.
Wow what a great interview! Just ordered 2 trees from Mr. Maple.
Great perspective on selling large trees!!
I would love to see these trees in Fall color!
I love his channel and I love Japanese maples. ❤️ Surprised to learn he’s right here in NC.
Very neat! I’m excited to see part 2
Have purchased roughly 15 plus trees from mr maple. Still have 4 waiting to be planted. Also have a Mikawa Yatsubusa in a container and it is awesome. Love Mr maple they are the best in my opinion.
Hands down, this is one of your best visiting videos! Love these guys! Glad you got him to pick his favorites! Are they open to the public? Would love to drive home with a few 5 or 7 gallon ones!
Will definitely be checking out their website this evening! Thanks as always Jim!
Awesome! So honored to be included! Thanks Jim!
It was great fun!!
I’ve been waiting for this one! I’ve bought several plants from Matt and Tim. Great customer service and plants!
Great folks really!!
Wow what a amazing place. Wished I knew about them sooner to order some unique Japanese maple tree. I purchased a blood maple recently from my local garden. Would loved to check them out sooner for more beautiful choices. TY for sharing this awesome experience with us!
Great to see the passion!
I've ordered 5 Japanese maples from Mr maple and never been disappointed, great video as always
Great interview Jim! I've been a huge fan of Mr. Maple ever since you highlighted an order you got from Matt and Tim a while ago. I went overboard this Spring on orders from them. Besides the trees, they have some awesome, hard to find, flowering plants. First class operation all the way! I can't wait to visit one day.
Really enjoyed seeing their beautiful property! I'm up in Pennsylvania so the odds of seeing it for myself are low. Never bought a maple from Mr. Maple but have gotten a couple interesting hydrangea varieties.
Thank you for showing this!
Oh my that stone work is just incredible- is there a story behind that magnificent wall?
Mr Maple is on our tour of NC!!
Amazing!
Oh golly! I'm excited to learn about all the different Japanese maples! Can you tell us if they like full sun or not? Also, I noticed his were very dense. So do you prune Japanese maples like a normal tree to give air flow or just plant them and let them be?😀. Thank you Jim for showing us these! I'm really excited for the videos to come about these!
OMG, what an inventory! I feel credit card fatigue coming on.
I am obsessed with Japanese maple
I just bought a Sango Kaku this Spring. I can’t wait to see the leaf color change and then the brighter red bard when they fall off. Love Japanese Maples!
Thanks for the video! You've really opened up my eyes to different plants. Would never have guessed that there were so many maple varieties. Would like to order one, wondering what time of year is best to plant a japanese maple in zone 6?
Will you be going back in the autumn. I bet the colours are amazing then
Good stuff, ty.
Amazing. My nephew is onto bonzio
