I have two more videos that I shot in Athens coming soon. Thanks for watching!
Gentlemen, way back 7-8 years ago, I found a black foliage, purple/orange fruit, ornamental pepper that was a terrific plant. I've never found it again. Have you seen it?
@@katiekane5247 If the fruit was rounded try the "Black Pearl" variety.
I could listen to you two guys talk about plants all day. You and Dr Allan are certainly bright lights shining on the gardening community✨
Aw, that wasn't quite long enough, haha. Really enjoy both of you talking about plants and seeing Dr. Armitage's garden.
What a wonderful, humorous guy!
Really enjoyed Dr. Armitage he has a great sense of humor and down to earth. This series is a hit look forward to the next tour.
What a treat! I could listen to Dr. A all day!
I love Dr. A he’s so knowledgeable and fun. Love his books too. Great garden.
Thank you Jim Putnam, and Dr. Armitage. I spent years reading Dr A's articles in FG and learned so much that I keep with me and use today. Dr. A and Dr.Michael Dirr's books are the first 'Go To's' for my hort info.
I love this guy he has a good sense of humor... really enjoy this video...probably will watch it again lol
Love the sentiment that when you garden you always have something to look forward to. Really enjoying this series. Thanks- people and places that are new to me. Very enjoyable.
Thanks for having Dr. A. I love listening to his voice and getting his common sense knowledge....and yours too! I have three go-to UA-cam channels, yours, Garden Answer and Gardening with Creekside. All different but so special!
Likewise. I love Jim videos more informative and common sense gardening while simple. I'm never overwhelmed learning from his videos
Love when you visit Dr.A and his wonderful garden!!
Jim, this was certainly an entertaining video! I loved the positive vibes from both of you, and Dr. Armitage seems to have the unique ability to see both humor and grandeur in his surroundings and life situation. He is truly a delightful person. I hope everyone has a wonderful week ahead. ~Margie
Dr. A seems like a fun guy! Thank you again for sharing.
Dr A is my favorite. Thanks for introducing me to him. I love his energy!!
I enjoy the flowers of hydrangeas in the winter.
Two things: You weren't kidding about "Rock Star Horticulturists"! Wow! I have only heard about and read Dr. Armitage and now feel like I've actually met him! Going to go watch last year's episodes with him. And 2: Thank goodness there are other episodes with him and more to come because this one was far too short! You two are great together, fascinating and informative as always. Well done!
Two of my favorite guys. You made my day, this was great!
So awesome to see you both! What a great treat! Thanks to both of you!!❤️
What a charming man and he's such a treat! I'm wanting those books and when he said he likes the "naked lady" name hehehe
More, more, more!!!! Looking forward to his book too!
Hey Jim thanks for this video. I love when Dr A is on he's fabulous and very humble. Wish this video was longer of his entire property like last time. Drone shots would be awesome of his gardens. Thanks again.
Dr A is a hoot- beautiful garden!
So jealous of the age of Dr A’s garden!! So pretty
I love Dr. A's enthusiasm and energy and personality! Look forward to the other videos.
Dr A is a garden treasure!!! I recommend buying his whimsical book Of Naked Ladies and Forget Me Nots…it’s really a pleasure read filled with charming anecdotes
The Dr. is always good! Many Thanks.
Oh, how I loved this video. The energy, sense of humor and friendship made this both informative and entertaining. Thank you for drawing us into the large circle of gardening. I noticed Dr. A. has a wide brim hat on. Jim.... ???
Great video!! Thank you Jim and Dr. A!! Appreciate your wisdom and your fun personalities!!❤️
Happy Sunday from beautiful Georgia!
I always love listening to Dr. A. Such a wealth of knowledge. I look forward to more videos with Dr. A. And thanks to Dr. A. for the discount code -- I just bought one of Dr. A's books online.
Absolutely stunning thank you so much Jim for sharing with us 🥰
Very special. THANK YOU for sharing......
Love ,love Dr. A and I love your videos Jim. I learn about so many different plants that I've not seen in other videos. I'm over here on the Washington coast zone 9A. Thanks for all you do. 🍂🌾🍁
Way too short! He's so fun and I wanted to see more of his garden. Lovely.
Me too 🤣
Really like these garden visits ! Need to visit zone 7B/8A -my retirement dream zone !
Great video! I love Dr. A's enthusiasm. Would certainly love to see more.
What a character, this was a fun video to watch. 😊
🙋🏽♀️🌱🌿🍃🍂I’M SILLY FOR YOUR VIDEOS ‼️
I AM BUYING THAT BOOK!! 🌺
Love Dr. A’s personality! Checking on his books! 🌼
What an enjoyable video! And I agree, too short!
Close to me in Dawsonville. Had the pleasure of hearing a presentation from Dr. A, he's definitely improved my bed design & plant knowledge as has Jim. Can't wait for the next vids!
That was fun. Wish it were longer! Thanks for sharing.
Wow; this was a cool video and I love this new type of video that you are giving to us Jim.
Such a pleasant surprise.. I thought I wasn't going to get any of my favourite videos this morning x
I'm in my 'Salvia' stage of life too x
That's so true Dr A. I am so blessed x
Hang on a minute Dr A. Watching this video a second time because I was busy typing and missing bits and pieces.... I can't admit to being a 'bad' gardener and probably neither should you x
I'm jinxed with 'mop heads' too. I have plans to try again soon..... I have saved dozens of 'Hydrangea' videos on the so many types of which I had no idea there are so many... I live in Adelaide, South Australia. I am an avid gardener. Maybe I should try my luck with a 'paniculata' x
Actually, I called it 'having a love affair with Sakvias at the moment' x
Coffee, hammock, and a HT Sunday video. A great start to the day! Dr. Armitage is such a delight and I really appreciate you bringing these interesting voices to your audience. I am going to hop on over to his website - how generous of him to give us a discount, after all the suffering we had to do through this video. (Kidding!) I'm especially interested in the common name origins of plants....maybe grab a couple for gifts. Dr. A, I agree with you on the mophead hydrangeas - I much prefer the oakleaf and mountain ones myself.
Love this series sir! Goodly infectious
Dr. A always brings something interesting to your video visits with him! Love visiting the personal gardens of experienced gardeners like him. BTW, I think he just convinced me to get these smaller flowered Vincas. Glad 2 more videos are on the way.
You two both have such similar garden styles. Really enjoyed this video and the series.
yes, we are silly enough to listen to you! lol Dr. A is going to figure out at some point that this is all real haha, I remember him talking with Flower Hill Farms like, why did I just sell out of my old book?
Looking forward to more videos. Great content as always. Sometimes tours are awkward but you do great Jim and of course Dr Armitage's writing style apparently comes from his actual personality and his talking style.
I think I'm in my beautyberry stage of life, i did not think there were more than 2 kinds but now I have 4.
great video ... always love to see and hear Dr. A, and the stories he has to tell about plants and other things (haha!). I've been blessed to hear him speak on several occasions and I always learn something new and come away inspired. Thanks for sharing your time with him in his garden ... always a treat for sure !!!
I love the humour and passion ! 🌸🇨🇦from another ex Montrealer Dr. A!
Great stuff Jim.......he's a character !😊
muy bonito jardín 🪴 🌳🌺🌸🌼🌻🌱no me pierdo , ningún de tus vídeos 🙌👍
Allan was my ornamental horticulture professor. He's a great guy. (Edit: misspelled Allan i was using voice to txt......)
The naked lady lilies, they call them Ghost lily around my area .
I looked through one of his old books a month or so ago and now I think about him when I see the wild Violets in my yard. He mentioned how they weren't quite welcome in his garden and I wonder how he gets rid of them. Their roots are tough.
Aren't they! I don't mind a few but golly they are prolific.
Hey Jim, any chance you could take us through Vince Dooley’s garden?
QUESTION: Hi JP, I was wondering if you have a video on where you get your plants from in our area 7B. I can find a lot of the shrubs but not the "flowers", Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.
Just subscribed to your page and have watched this video and another one where you transplanted a lantana. I'm in West Virginia so my lantanas dont survive the winter, question is how does a person collect seed from the purple vining lantana. Mine is huge this year and has sort of "hop like seed heads" coming on. Are those the parts I would save for seed or should I try to keep the plant inside over winter. Thanking you in advance Rita
Jim, between the Carex is that a Clivia?
Was that a clivia next to the carex? Do clivia spread/invasive when in ground? (I have a bunch in pots)
Also, what’s the diff b/n carex and sweet flag?
How do you prune carex? And when??
👋😃
Bugs and caterpillars attacked my garden in Georgia! I’m afraid to spray poisons all over that would hurt bees, birds or my dog!! 😳need help.
the little boy figure in the garden is creepy and out of place, IMO
