I grew up in Altoona.. moved to New England when I was 29. I live on Nantucket Island now and our weather is pretty much the same (minus a lot of snow). It’s dark, gloomy, rainy and very windy and stormy November to April. Luckily, I love winter. I really like stormy weather… for all the same reasons that you mention are attributes of Hygge. I keep my surroundings cozy. Also, I think it’s all about keeping sunshine in your heart no matter what the weather. Positive attitude is everything. Thanks for the video. ☀️
Absolutely. It’s about changing the way you look at the situation. Embracing the dark and finding comfort indoors with loved ones. Cozy is a great way to get through the winter.
No need to constantly spray for bugs, deal with air conditioning 8 months, no hurricanes, no tornadoes, no alligators, mountains to hike, woods are safer, cheaper, earnest people who can do stuff
Recent winters have been much milder - less snow and warmer. Why move south? Last really severe winters were in middle 1990s, lots of snow and cold. I remember driving through Gallitzin or Cresson, and the plowed snow was as high as the car roof.
It's not easy for me to deal with winter I also lived in Florida and it's hard to get used to the change. Pa is very different and def colder ❄️☃️ however my anxiety is getting better here it's more peaceful and quit unlike big cities
There are too many people like you. You moved to the " sunbelt ", THEN , after living in Florida for years , you come crawling back to Pennsylvania where I have lived my entire life. You`re contemptable !!
Sounds like you’ve been hurt by some Southerner. My family is from here so I moved back. Crawling isn’t an accurate description. I loved Florida. Contemptible is spelled like that.

I used to live in Pennsylvania from 1984-1991. I originally from texas but really want to move back to Pennsylvania. Thanks for this video
Right now is the perfect time of year. Crisp and sunny. Leaves will be changing soon!
Just visited 🚂Altoona 🚂 for three days. Nice people and nice town. Will definitely be visiting again. 👍🚂🚂
Hope you enjoyed it! Little smoky there right now

Haha I can relate to all these.
You've got a great outlook on winter. thanks for sharing. I"ll have to try those coffee shops.
Clay cup has coziest atmosphere. All three have great coffee. Slightly less costly than Starbucks. Cheers!

I agree. I remember 93 and 94 had feet of snow. However it is still dark and grey for like 5 months.

I was thinking might be a nice area to retire.
That’s what I’m doing 😏
Like the video but Christmas is over. You need to take our tree down and embrace the new year. Altoona is a beautiful mountain town.
Yeah we’re one of those families that starts Christmas on November 1st and waits till middle January to end the festivities. Lol
Yes it is a beautiful town!

The weather sucks. The people suck more.
Well. That’s just like, your opinion man.
