BMW F30/F31 Genuine OEM Side Skirt fitting

- This is just a little video of fitting genuine OEM BMW aero side extensions. I tried finding a suitable video taking on the task and couldn't find one I was happy with. The skirts either were not genuine or people took the side skirt off. I didn't fancy breaking anything so followed the BMW fitting guide although that can be confusing.
I used alot of Kies Motorsports video's for the front splitter and the rear diffuser is incredibly simple to do. It's my first video like this so I apologise for the camera moving alot or me not saying the correct terms for things. I this is helpful for some.
Great video . This helped me massively but I removed the side skirts to fit the side extensions save jacking the car up 👍
I saw that method and was worried about snapping any of the clips. Im glad the video was useful though.
@@Drdamian666 I was a bit worried too 🤣 never done anything like this before and the cracking a snapping noises when removing the side skirt made me think what have I done 😂 but to be fair they came off ok . Bit off a struggle to get them back on as I didn't pull the weather proof flap back down below the skirt so it wasn't sitting right. I was scratching my head for a bit then decided to look at the other skirt which hadn't yet been removed thankfully and I seen straight away what I had done wrong . It all came together in the end 👍
Putting your head under your vehicle without axle stands and relying on that scissor jack was, well, yep!
Thanks for the video. May you please confirm what size drill bits you used to make the pilot holes for plastic rivets and the metal screws?
Hi, from memory and looking at my tool box the drill bit was no.5 for the plastic rivets. For the screws I used a 3. It was for a guide so the screw could find the hole rather than it wobbling around going somewhere different. Good luck with fitting yours.

Great video. I have bought the genuine bmw side skirts carbon fiber ones and came with the rivets, but where can I get that tool you used as the rivet gun ? Is it specifically for the bmw rivets ?

Hi! Not a problem, thought it would be handy for people as I was really worried about drilling into the side skirts.
The plastic clips are "plastic rivets" and I bought a plastic rivet gun off Amazon to fix them on. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07K33G24D?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
If your skirt is a genuine BMW one from BMW the fittings should come with them. They did for the skirts and front splitter.
