- This has to be the most insane head unit upgrade I've ever seen for any BMW. Dare I say it's better than the ones newer cars come with. When I upgraded my first Android panel to my current PEMP one, I didn’t have to swap out the harness (the connector on the panel looks the same across several “different” brands). I wonder if it is the same for this one.
For that gen its a great upgrade, ui could do with some tweaks but overall very decent, not sure who wants OEM tech from one of these cars, the unit just brings it up to date.😊

What about 440i 2018. Does the audio work with that? There is no aux in 2018
Would this work in scenarios of using maps and it showing directions on the windscreen HUD?
I’m all about retrofitting stuff to my old Pick Up, but that screen is a little on the ‘pushin it’ side 😢

@@saifalqudah8492 works flawlessly. You will love it no doubt about it. Make sure you use the DSP sound tuning so you can make it sound amazing. Doth forget to hook up the aux cord as well. You must use aux connection from head unit to center console port

Do they have anything similar for the F22 M235i? Everything that fits the F30 usually fits the F22.

2018 models are NBT-EVO for the most part.
get a magnetizer for your bits friend :)
can make any bit magnetic, life saver. can also de-magnetize with the same tool.

Is it possible to use the OEM audio functions (e.g. playing a CD etc) while at the same time use the screen for negotiation via Android Auto (or Apple CarPlay)? Thanks.
Yes you just use your normal cd player then press and hold for Android... But you can only have cd sound or AUX nav sound... I don't think both sounds with work...im not 100% but I'd say no because I have one and to have cd audio you have to be on cd on idrive... But for andiod sound you have to be on AUX... If it both comes through I'd be surprised.. Il will test for you though. And. Hopefully get back to you

I've just fitted this HU to my E61. It looks awesome and so full of features.
Eh, not sure about this mod. Sometimes less is more, but at least its NOT the one giant widescreen like the newer BMW's. That combined widescreen nav and gauge cluster combo looks terrible. This is a better balance. More power to you though for doing it yourself.
Just got mine in the mail today and installed it. Holy!! It’s absolutely amazing🔥 beautiful and works so smoothly. However I cannot connect the LVDS cable😑 it’s so short and extremely difficult to position to connect it. So it’s not connected fully atm.

Nice screen. Is it really the stereo processor? Thought the sound would be more dependent on amp, speakers and sub.
It retains the optic fiber connection so it used the original car system.
Is this compatible with other brands, aside beamers? Or is ther something similar for other brands?

How reflective is this screen? I've found lots of aftermarket plug and play screens reflect a lot more than the OEM screens, so I've always stuck with an MMI box and the OEM 8.8" screen.
Not much of an issue with this screen.

yea thesew 15” screens are great- ive been selling them for the past 4 months…i had pre-production unit and its a lot cleaner looking then the 10” or even 12.5” ….. not cheap but with 256gig or 512gig… well worth it hands down!

Looks a little wide for my taste but still cool. The sound quality of the upgrade I have is the issue for me and why I want to swap it out. The audio sound truncated or like there is ducking.
From my experience with using aftermarket android head units for BMWs (e and f chassis), these are excellent WHEN THEY WORK.
They can be more temperamental than my ex and I ended up removing mine all together as it was not a reliable experience in the slightest.

I have a 14 f32 with NBT with CIC style menu, I had to run aux cable for mine. Pro tip: pop the aux cable out of its socket and plug it in under the trim.
Can someone clarify the AUX cable situation? I know I've seen ssome stereos require you to route the cable and set your original unit to be always in AUX mode in that way you get Audio. You mentioned you don't care about it because of the Mic, how is that related? I can see Chris has the Aux connected actually, is this from the former unit he had in the past?
Where do you guys recommend putting the new mic and GPS receiver?
The mic is a different port, but since I overlapped that section on the video I see how it could look confusing. One port on the Xtrons unit for mic and a different one for the aux.

So this does run sound through the Aux connection? Or is that just an additional feature. I've heard of a lot sound quality issues linked to this.
On most models you need to run the aux cable. There is no downside as far as audio quality.
That sucks. If this connected through MOST instead of AUX this would be a home run. Going to have to pass because of that unfortunately. Not about to sacrifice audio quality
