I’m actually cleaning up a GameCube compatible Wii I bought for a steal of a price of $30. Completely works, came with 2 controllers with Motion Plus things, a nunchuck, and 3 shovelware games.
Glad you did buy it. Great video! Never seen anyone bother with repairing plastics like that. Usually it's straight in the bin and a replacement shell ordered. Save the planet. :D
I’ve bought many systems that weren’t supposed to be running at all and some needed cleaning or something like miss aligned inside, a PlayStation 4 like new had coins that a little kid put in and the mom said it doesn’t work. I took the money out and got it to work perfectly and cleaned it and it looks like a brand new system. This kind of work is not for everyone and you need patience to look at the components and love doing it too. Good job on the repair.
@@RestoreTechnique sure and that is not easy to align and you can over do it as well but great job. The parts are cheap but the work to me, is where the reward is at and making it all work together.
About 5 years ago, I totalled a controller once a month for about 6 months. Glad I'm in a better place mentally. Great video, always satisfying to watch.
I Saw this and the JBL speaker restoration and damn i learned how to plastic repair with an iron solder techniques and WOW amazing job dude on both repairs!
subbed. incredible restore! question on the plastic welding: is it just a soldering iron and a "sacrificed" tip? if so, what temps do you aim for? do you glue / epoxy beforehand? do you add more ads plastic? sorry for barrage of questions, i have a ps4 pro i just inherited where the top shell has a small hole. figured id be in market of trying to source an oem shell or a 3rd party one, but youve inspired me to try and tackle it!
Thanks! It's really hard to quantify, as I started it nearly a year ago and then put it on the back burner. Also filming it whilst doing it means it takes 5x longer. Many hours.

Yes i have broke a console in rage. Season 4 just dropped on fort & i was already pissed off that day so when i got killed in fort i took my old 2013 ps4 and threw it. Never worked again only eject button beeped
I wonder if the outside cracks can be buffed with zona polishing paper? I’ve seen it used to buff scratches out of plastic, but not one with the same texture as a ps4.
Yes I was tempted to sand/polish them, but thought it wouldn't look much better because of the textured surface being erased either side. So I decided it wasn't worth it.
Yeah I assume people break controllers and keyboards the most. Never broken one myself, but do have a chip in my desk from tossing my headset down on it.
@@RestoreTechnique i actually used to break them a lot more but the ps5 controllers are really strong compared to ps4 controllers, i would snap ps4 controllers in half like no problem but it took a huge hit for the ps5 controller its plastic to break
Hello dear have a question for you ! ,, the last blue ray disc you use it ? it is a copy disc ( Fortnite ) ? or it is a simple paper whit a title on the cd ? ( Christopher )
It is a blank disk (one that has a white coating so it's easier to print on). I just wrote "Fortnight" on it, but it was just a joke. It's just a blank CD.
Hi, please tell me what should I do for this error ce-34878-0, because I changed more than 10 hard drives,& i changed cmos 2032 but it still gives this error,I think when the device heats up and the fan sounds, the PlayStation gives this error Do you think it could be from the chipset? Plz telllllllllll me🙏🏼
@@RestoreTechnique no, YOU are nice! Keep up the vids man. I love doing my own repairs too. (Just need to get better at figuring out how to use a multimeter)
The plastic welding was seriously impressive! Clean work.
This was an amazing repair with how little replacement parts you needed!

Another great restoration! Impressive how you managed to save it with mostly original parts👌 the plastic welding turned out great 👍
Thanks mate 😀
In the near future, I bet this dude is gonna restore a PS5
no doubt )
It saddens me to see a Ps4 in such sorrowful condition. Great job restoring it though!
Cheers 🙂
This guy is a wizard at repairing what would otherwise be considered trash by most people.

I just got a smashed PS4 slim from a coworker today. Wish me luck.
Good luck 👍🏼👍🏼
I'm not easily impressed, but yet, this restoration video has greatly impressed me, also that the motherboard was still working after being so bent.
Just when I think you've done the ultimate restoration, another one comes along. Brilliant work.
You are a true doctor of technique! Great job! Respect!!!
Wtf… I was lied to… this was not a restoration… this was… a RESURRECTION!! Seriously impressive stuff! Well done.
really impressive work, was a real joy to watch you work
Must be an expert if you restore electronics, good job 👍

I did not expect that main board to survive that kinda trauma. Outstaind work. Just one question, how many hours did that repair take?

you done a fantastic job restoreing that ps4
Cheers :)
Me: No way he can restore this
Restore Technique: Hold my PS4
Amazing job. well done 👍🏻
Thanks! 😀
it looks like someone hit the console with force.
Very nice restoration, how long did it take you from start to finish ?

@@RestoreTechnique maybe a respray would be interesting. Some krylon fusion and either in black or a funky color
@@RichHomieBodhi Good idea. Should have sanded and then plasti-dipped it.
@@RichHomieBodhi just checked out Krylon Fusion, looks good 😮
@@RestoreTechnique nice! Look forward to a video if you do it! Yeah krylon fusion is meant for plastic bonding paint. Curious how it turns out.

When i rage i mostly tend to break controllers so they are all basically held together by super glue at this point

Is reheating the plastic rivets important?
Yes that's what holds that metal plate down, otherwise it's only 3 screws on 1 of the sides.
Awesome 👍

Without the sponsors or the ads
Only a little bit, like ~AUD$100 on consoles.
