  • I took my video on how to use 15lbs of apples and cut it down into individual videos. I hope this helps make things easier for everyone when you only want to know about one thing. Here is just my apple pectin.

Just found your channel when I searched for 'pectin'. You say one 8 oz jar pectin will work for one batch of jam/jelly - what size batch? I know people who make six 1/2-pints at a time, and large families that make 12 quarts at a time. Thank you!

One 8oz jar is equal to one package store bought. Just remember. You use home made pectin different then the dry package.
As far as how much per batch.
The pectin does not thicken the same as the store bought does. So you will end up with one or 2 Les jars. But to us it is worth the taste and the time for homemade versus store.

Also when you’re cooking the pectin in the crock You say for 12 hours on high but then he say for eight hours on low… I’m just wondering which one or is it both

      He wrote it wrong.
It is 12 on high. You want to evaporate all the water you can.
Make sure you stir often to mix the pectin back in our it becomes one big skin on top and not all mixed in
