As a fixed wing guy who has started playing with helicopters in the sim, I really appreciated this video. I'm not sure people know how much work goes into editing a multi camera shoot like this, you did a great job.
Hey thanks man. Yeah, after each flight I have about 4 and a half hours of total footage between three cameras that takes up about 60GB of storage space that I have to cut down into about 10 minutes.
Loving the content. This is exactly where I'm at with my training. Getting ready to solo my first long cross country. Motivating me to start posting videos of my experience.
Thanks buddy! Good luck with the solo cross country, you'll do great! Videos are a great de-brief tool to see what you're doing right and what you need to work on. I end up watching just about every flight I do while I'm editing them and it's like flying it all over again.
first of all i saw your name is Ian and i got more confident lol. Next week ill be going to sign up in Jeff city , Missouri. i am worried about the payments , i was wondering if you have any advice for anyone that's just starting out and personally how long did it take you until l you got to your first solo. Thank You for the video , Much Love
Hi Ian, it appears as though your most recent video went offline ??? A follow up question. What do you use to stabilize the image in your youtube videos? I purchased a gooseneck, and have it mounted to the headset box at the roof, and the video was very shaky. Thanks!
Yeah man I'm sorry about that. Had an issue with that video and I had to take it down for now. To make up for it, this Sunday's video is coming out tomorrow afternoon. You're not going to be disappointed. For a teaser, it involves shooting suppressed full auto rifles from a helicopter. As far as the stabilization, the Hero 5 actually had built in image stabilization. Another thing that helps reduce vibration is to make sure you have as few joints and connectors as possible from the camera to the aircraft. Anything that articulates can create vibration. Mounting to the center behind the camera instead of on the top or bottom also reduces vibration. You just have to experiment with different mounting locations and options until you find one that works.

Great video, thank you for talking to the viewers. Many R22 videos on UA-cam the pilots don't say anything to the views at all.
very very nice, encouraged me to go flying
That's so cool! How are you liking it?

How many hours of training have you got at this point in your training?
