- During the live album recording at CBGB, Roger's younger brother Freddy takes the mic to sing "Blind Justice" and "Last Warning"
I'm the jackass pointing my finger,Youth Crew style, at Freddy during "Last Warning." I always hated people in the crowd who pointed while singing along. I am ashamed.
When you see Freddy nowadays as a 45+ years ls man, jumping all over and owning the stage as no other frontman in hardcore, with an energy that seems so natural to him, just watch that video and realize why the man has that aura....he's been doing it already when dinosaurs roamed the earth
for those keeping count... in addition to Af and soon to be Madball, on the side of the stage in the video were also members of Murphy's Law, Rest in Pieces, Krakdown, Sick of it All, SFA, Absolution Cro-Mags, YDL, Warzone, and probably some other bands I forgot.
You can't see him on the video, but Johnny Ramone was there too... on the backside of the scene...
Bully Boys , Arresting Officers and mamy more. One voice, one music
So basically all the bad ass bands of the time
Me too George Steen
If there were a hardcore museum, this clip would absolutely need to be in it.
I was there. It was the day after Jerrys Kids played at the Anthrax in CT. Hence why Wrecking Machine is wearing the shirt..
I can hear myself and my friend steve making noise right before the song starts..we were copying what Jerrys Kids were doing on stage the night before..
CHOKE.
sssocialservice
Yeh sure you were
I call fucking bullshit
1988 was the best year of my life, 19 yrs old and the country was kickin ass. We were fuckin strong
This was my first time at CBGBs. We followed AF from DC to Harrisburg to NYC for this show. The greatest weekend an 18 year old hardcore kid could've ever asked for. Thanks for the clip!
That's sick, thank you for sharing
Whoa, Freddy, the coolest little kid. :) Madball is still the shit, just saw them last night in Budapest, they played the whole Demonstrating my style album. Can't believe it's been 20 years...
Sup gorgeous
Cecília Nagy ♥♥♥♡♥♡♥♥
He was 15?
I remember this show like it was yesterday.
Can’t believe it was 33 years ago
I got this tape in 1992. It's the first hard-core album I ever got and it changed my life forever.
Roger Miret's brother Freddy Cricien was 7 years old when he was singing
with Agnostic Front. He took his little brother on tour with the band.
Wow!!
I never realised there was actual video recording of the CBGB live album...
Great piece of history! HC for life!
Where’s the rest of this footage!!?!?! I’ve been dying for 30 years to see this!! It’s the best live album!!
RIGHT? Let's see the whole thing!
@BrendanSFA
This video is pure gold. I am from Ecuador. A friend of mine is Rob Echeverria’s (Rest In Pieces, Helmet, Biohazard) far cousin. I remember one summer he brought from NY Rest In Piece’s “Under My Skin”. He is probably one of the few people who still have this record on vinyl.
Amazing how the energy of this guys and the movement that was created spread all over the world untill this days. ❤
how old is freddy?!!!!!!! what fucking legend man now this is hardcore!
It's insane that his voice was so deep on ball of destruction yet he was only this age-13.
A lot of u people ain't gonna b able to see tomorrow if u keep fucking around this way! Yeah! I never forget that line classic!! Where the rest of the concert! There's a guy with a camera to your left!! This should b in the hardcore library! Classical!
was at this show - it was so crowded at hot but pretty epic for sure
That's pretty epic
Same it was 110* in this shithole.
Wow amazing video. Little did anyone know that was the next king of NYHC #Madball
That was such an amazing show. Thanks for uploading this.
I love it just wish there was a way to mix out the white noise going on when the music hits
The begining of an era.
amen! NYHC for life!
I remember there was like a 7” or demo - basically AF with Freddie on vocals, age 12. There was a cover of an AF tune from United Blood. Great stuff
I miss this era!
100% I'm roughly the same age as Freddy wasn't at tbis one but a shit ton of others being originally from CENTRAL NJ. I was super close to it all and didn't miss much stuck in NC country last 15 years fucking blows as far as our scene goes but its a great place to raise your kids much safe4 for them which makes less stress for me HCLIVES
favorite part of this is English Nick carrying Freddy on his shoulders then throwing him on the crowd. haha
is that Nick Solares?
@@Louid133 Yes, it is....please don't call the splc hotline.
@BrendanSFA yo is this Brendan..singer of SFA? I know you man...you used to always give me shit at CBGB's and kicked me out a couple times cause I always tried to sneak in booze (I was only 16)...until I came back from Marine boot camp... and after that, you gave me props and never let me pay at the door for ANY show up until 1999.LOL. You're the fuckin man bro.
your description is awesome....about the finger pointing.,
hahaha
great video thanks for sharing...supper cool music.
Do shows like this even exist today? I would've crawled to this show!
inmate7076
Black and blue bowl every year
@BrendanSFA
Hey Brendan, it looks like English Nick (or someone else from YDL) has something to that effect on. Freddy is on his shoulders and then you notice it more when he starts dancing on stage.
I started going to shows in 96 less than 10 years after this but it seems like less time has transpired in my head from now to 96 as to 96 feeling so far apart from 88. Makes sense?
I believe this is the video from the live album. cool !
Freddy the Skinhead! Oi!
great old footage thanks for posting
It's almost exactly how I would envision this show in my head when listening to the Live at CBGB's album decades ago. Except for the bouncers standing so close to the band and of course how young Freddy is.
Freddy Cricien, singer for Madball talks about the first time he ever sang with his brother, Roger Miret's band Agnostic Front - he was just 7 years old! In the full episode, we discuss NYC hardcore, the old CB's matinee shows, and a lot more.
It will be available for free, on iTunes, this Friday, May 17th, and you can download it and subscribe to it here:

I wish I grew up during these times!
1:46 Nick solares❤️🇺🇸
young freddy madball..this is some awesome footage
Beautiful times.😃
Were there vocal overdubs on Live at CBGB? This video is awesome, but the vocals don't sound the same, especially Freddy...
Cheetah Thunders. Soundboard recording versus a shitty video with shitty sound.
@deathcamps Looks like a Rock Against Communism shirt w/ the hammer&sickle logo
haha Freddy is THE hc-kid!
😍
best video ever!
historic moment 5/5
Classic!!!
great stuff....little Freddy
goodtimes
HARDCORE STILL LIVES - #S083

@deathcamps Where and when in the video?
I think I was at that show.. did Roger go to jail after that.. ?
@bedtimefordemocracy holy shit! i didn't know he was 13 when he did that :P
@kierenfXXkinglegacy yeah it's insane! so young!
EPIC
WOW
thats the real shit! freddy looks 12 yrs old
is that nick of YDL in this?
Yup!! He had Freddy Madball propped on his shoulders
Yes, Swastika t-shirt...😉
@@macskajanos3766 not swastika, its nail down communism shirt
Haha love this. Like a little hardcore mascot or something.
@Biggity420 I don't think you understand what I was asking. I wasn't asking where and when the video was made... I know that. I posted this video and I'm in it. I was asking another one of the people who commented (user name: deathcamps) where and when in the video he saw someone wearing a swazi shirt.
Wow. I've read about this kinda stuff but always figured it was embellished folklore...but here's the proof!
wow freddy was young! the video doesnt even look that old.
classic
And the rest is NYHC history.
and now...
ЭТО ОХУЕННО!
nice slapshot t-shirt!
English Nick pólója is tetszetős darab. ✋🙋♂️
Skinnnnnnheaddddd
fuckin sick
☆☆☆☆☆
don't see where madball is introduced
The boy who sings is Freddy Madball.
The original line up of Madball, on their first ep, was this line up of Agnostic Front, with Freddy on vocals.
BrendanSFA and roger miret on bass.
David Brady ... wow
HC!
Agnostic Front = croptop = skinhead = unmalegentialmutilated
Heheheheheee
... NYHC ...
now thats a cool fuckin kid
I wonder who had the swazi shirt on....LOL
huh huh... stigma is only like 35...
miss these days .......this is hardcore - i got out of hardcore in 89 -90 didnt like alot of the hiphop influenced shit
there's a lot of thrash influence in hardcore now... very scare hip hop influence
neilpeartrocks2112 TRUE not so much the music but the yo attitude
neilpeartrocks2112 true
@MutantX123 Florida State University?

Aguante el hardcore
Poor Otis dead and gone , let me hear you sing his song,/ Pretty little girl with a red dress on...
Poor Otis dead and Gone!!!!!!!!........
oi
Where can I see the whole video!
I Think FSU were one of the boston punk "gangs" or somthing
Yep... that's him alright.
Is he still in the Klan?
I had heard he renounced it a few years ago... even married a Mexican.
BrendanSFA i see you
sick was there - got beat up who cares
What happened exactly?
+Wilm Danby just happened a lot back then
I don't think it was anything too bad I'm alive. I love AF and Madball
True, totally stupid cause alot of "skinheads" in the hardcore scene back then and alot of guys that played in bands were either latino or some other ethnicity
stankwho
Cause to be hardcore or a skinhead you don't have to be white.
old 7" of madball cost like 25 euro wtf.....but great stuff respect
Shit!!!!
Sadball repping the skrewdriver t shirt from uncle nick ydl. Wpww hail trump 2024
Pretty sure that was an Iron Cross shirt... crucified on the front and Psycho Skin on the back
Hope you are well Rick
@@BrendanSFA It's a T-shirt with a burning Celtic cross "skrewdriver rising"
@@Jigurdinec no...young Freddie is wearing a bootleg Iron Cross shirt, highlighting two songs on the front and back of the shirt, crucified on the front, Psycho Skin on the back... both were on the first Iron Cross single
I have no idea how you think he is wearing a shirt with a burning celtic cross in this video
@@BrendanSFA But he also wore skrewdriver merch, there are many photos. In general, Freddie is gay, Seth Putnam said so.
@@Jigurdinec Ah... you aren't talking about what anyone is wearing in this video... you are talking about what Roger was wearing at the beginning of the show? Am I correct?
Love you roger
But the NYPD is the best police force in the world
Nyet Nine I know I was there as well I'm 43... i was locked up in Tompkins in 93 for the 5 year anniversary rally
The police are only doing what they have to do to support their families. And when I mean the NYPD police force is the best police force, I was thinking 80's 90's copsnots these bozos today
HXCbrother
Jimmy g in the background
Wow that shit was cool!
