      Thanks Jim, usually I'm not happy to find an exhaust leak but this time I certainly was. That sensor did not look like it wanted to come off easily.

    Great Video. Thanks for making these. 😊 I enjoy them and now know to look for an exhaust leak if I get that light and code on my Colorado

      Good question C Somma. Fixing the exhaust leak and clearing the engine code corrected the problem. The Heated Oxygen sensor near the leak was reading that there is too much oxygen in the exhaust fumes (oxygen was entering through the leak in the exhaust pipe). Fixing the exhaust pipe fixed the error code for me. I never did have to replace the sensor. I put over 1000 kms since the fix and the code has not returned. I hope that helps you. Of course, if you had an exhaust leak further down the exhaust stream it would not impact the sensors. My exhaust leak was in between the 2 sensors that compare oxygen levels with each other. I hope I did not confuse everyone with that. I think I confused myself ?!? :) ....just kidding :)

    Thanks, just debating buying OBD READER,….(* interestingly, I have carefully, cleaned my MAF SENSOR twice in my 2007 CANYONS 4 \Cyl life…. Running K & N AIR FILTER (* carefully) until 2016,& moving to HELENA valley, SUPER DUSTY*(really)…AND SPEAKING of slow starts:: CANYON started fine in -34:F DEG , or lower blast we had here @ END OF DEC 2022( SYNT5 W-30)….. Anyways , my second car , a 2015 Journey 4 CYL, was “DEAD with original **Battery** &;5 W-20 CONVENTIONAL, OIL””;; as I had lifetime Oil change @ Dealer, a FIRST USE, for me( always changed my own oils/ Filter…..) . Conclusion:: conventional Oil to thick

      Yeah, I use mine OBD scanner all the time for multiple vehicles. Whoah, that is frosty conditions. Those cold morning starts at that temp are so hard on a vehicle. It's best to avoid even starting them if that's an option. Cheers!

      Hey Opera, thanks for commenting and good luck with the move to dusty HELENA valley. Keep an eye on your air, oil and even fuel filter changes as dust has a way of getting everywhere! I added a link to my Autel OBD2 Scanner AutoLink Code Reader in the Video Description and copied & pasted here in case you're interested. amzn.to/3YQZB5k Its a good one, at an affordable price. I can't imagine not using it. If it allows you to replace 1 part yourself then it more than pays for itself and will become a go-to-tool for every job involving engine codes on all vehicles. Keep on Truck'n with that Canyon!

    In what sequence did you notice this problem, was it the different exhaust note or the appearance of the trouble codes?

    • @cantletherdiediy1050
      @cantletherdiediy1050  Рік тому +2

      Good Question Dale. I jumped in my truck started it up and noticed it sounded different, a little louder. I literally said to myself..."Ah oh, now what?" About 15 minutes later I noticed and engine trouble light. It was a solid light (not flashing) so I drove home (10mins away) & plugged in my code reader giving me a P1133 which is Chevy's code for the generic P0133 indicating the Oxygen sensor is reading exhaust oxygen levels not within established parameters. No obvious holes in exhaust was perplexing at first. All is good now. I hope that helps? Cheers!

      just had p1133 come up on my 2000 Legacy, although Bluedriver is saying "Future Emissions Code: No further action is required" , however clearing the code never works, it just comes back on.
