I already have the PrismXR ear-buds, which I really love. But imagine my surprise when I saw this dock from PrismXR for the Quest 3, just as I was thinking or replacing my official Meta charging dock with something else, because it was a hit & miss on charging the headset, since i got the BoboVR S3 pro on it. Buying it right after writing this comment, and probably going to also do a quick review on it too. Good job on your video though !
This is actually pretty nice but I do wish we didn't have to install that extra guilding piece. I know it makes it a lot easier to charge tho. Also with this battery door you can't use the active straps. Does the metal pieces dig into your palm at all? The piece is kinda high tho for what you get but the again I have the official one. It's nice but it's overpriced tho especially when you start to look at Quest 2 accessories prices now.
Correct you have to switch out battery doors when charging if you use the active straps unfortunately. And no they do not dig into my palm at all. I grip pretty tight as well as I use VR Gunstocks most of the time and it's still very comfortable.
Edit: Open mouth and insert foot. I was wrong. It works. My previous post: This is the worst docks you will find. :) Doesn't work with 3rd party mask replacements (at least not the AMVR one). Doesn't work with 3rd party grip strap replacements (at least not the AMVR ones, seems a trend here!). So if you are sporting a stock headset you are fine. Otherwise it's a no go. I'll be returning mine and getting one of the other docks that do work. I love the conversion of the grips to rechargeable, very creative, but they really should have included straps. Also, the design of the dock itself could have easily accounted for 3rd party mask interfaces, and it doesn't. Lot's of potential but a big disappointment unfortunately.
Well I was wrong about the dock working with the headset with the AMVR facial kit. It does work! Lot's of fiddling and it started charging. Still bummed about the controller strap issues but other than that it's working. Will see how it goes for a bit, how reliable it connects when docked.
@@santiagodraco the whole reason I want a good dock is controller charging….and yes I have 3rd party straps… I’m kinda disappointed to hear it won’t charge with the controller straps….I use supernatural a lot and without them my petite lady hand drop them all the time 😢
Is there any solution out there that will support that? I've been looking but can't find one. It doesn't seem like it would be marvel of engineering to figure out.
It doesn't support any kind of attachment unfortunately, other than a different strap. So no hard shell, no controller grips, no facial interface, etc.
I really like the compact design of this dock, but does the adhesive sticker thing you installed @5:27 is that easy to remove/reattach in case you have to RMA your headset for any reason? Or does it come with a spare or will the company send you another one if needed? Also does it have any overheat/overcharge protection for the dock will shut off when everything's fully charged?
I like it but no rgb 😢I have same setup unfortunately I had to get prescription lenses 92$ after taxes at honsvr i opted for all the special coatings and the magnetic system absolutely love they have non magnetic options 49$ start price I was super hesitant because I have an extremely high and special prescription and costs 400$ plus at eye doctor they had em made and sent to me 6days from order
I just got this dock and it is an awesome companion to the BoboVR S3 Strap. Quick question, is it ok to leave the headset and controllers plugged in and charging all the time on it? Is the headset/controllers or charging dock smart enough to know it is done being charged?
Great to hear! I also think it's a great pairing with the Bobo strap. And yes, it is smart enough to stop charging once they are full, that Ms for asking! I should have mentioned this in the video.
Do they make a charging dock that can fit the controllers if they have the knuckle straps on them and also an aftermarket face gasket? I hate that there are a million upgrade options for the Quest 3 but no solution that lets you use them all together.
It does not do that unfortunately. I just throw it on and then put my battery on the charging stand now. Would be cool if it could charge both ways like that.
Is it true that the S3 Pro doesn't have pass through charging? I believe the M2 Pro had it. I believe you would have to plug the power cord to the battery and it will charge both tht battery and headset at the same time. Too bad you can't do this with the S3 Pro I believe. Also I think it's harmful to have the battery on there and charging the Quest 3 at the same. I believe you have to make sure you take the battery off first prior to charging. I think this is mentioned in the manual. I think I ruined one of my M2 Pro battery doing this. I ended up returning that headset tho as I didn't know the S3 Pro was the one I should've gotten for my Quest 3 in the first place. Plus that fan is awesome. I'm now wanting to get an extra battery and maybe their charging dock too.

Could that fit with a plastic cover on it? Something for the controllers, could they fit if they had grips on them??

Yeah with that you'd have to take the cover off when charging your controllers unfortunately.
