Thanks for giving me some actual tangible training ideas that I can use to improve my flying and fighting.
Sometimes training can be a bit vague when there is no target to aim for besides “just getting better” so this really helps

Thank you. Came here because I'm in a weird interim of not understanding combat meta/objective, but being able to at least evade or pursue. My fights often end up stalemates and I get flamed hard in chat. (This has happened like 8 times lol)

Love this, this is legit the kind of combat theory I'd imagine you'd have to apply in zero-g warzones: Strafing and making unpredictable patterns that try to force your opponent into a position where the broadside of their ship is facing you allowing you the highest chance of hitting their craft because of the surface area and raining death from above or below. This legit looks so intense I almost want this to become an eSport lol. Thanks for the vid!

Put in the work and you'll get there, this game has a high skill ceiling. You can get to a very strong PvE level with only a week of playing. But the ceiling for PVP is high.

Would you mind sharing your axis setup? My muscle memory is now with roll on right stick X, pitch on right Y, strage left/right/fwd/bck on left stick. Yaw on RS twist. Also have pedals which i would need to use for strafe up/down. So much to handle as i come from a flight sim world 😄 thanl you!!

@@martinreckziegel8372 I plan on making a video on why but in the mean time trus. There is a valid reason with for it, and has to do with overloading your aiming hand.
      Right Hand: X-Pitch | Y-Yaw | Z-None
      Left Hand: X-Strafe L/R | Y-Strafe U/D | Z-Strafe-Roll
      Pedals: Foward/Back

@@JohnathanWinters yeah, I was thinking something like that, and here again my "problem" arises: I am playing with a gamepad (no way to change to dual sticks as I play in my living room in front of my TV with no desktop), so I only have four axes (two sticks) available (left: Y-forward/back, X-roll -- right: X-pitch, Y-yaw). the other two axes I can only get while pressing a modifier button and that gives me X-up/down, Y-left/right on right stick. But as you can see, that makes it impossible to f.e strafe right and yaw left to stay on target. Only way to orbit a target (asteroid) for me is doing that decoupled and use the momentum. I am not too bad in doing so, but ofc that fails in atmospheric fights. Thinking about adding pedals (I have T3PA, but in my case they do not help), like TFRPs and putting roll and forward/back thrusters on it. Opinions?
EDIT: ah forgot: these are great videos! finally some videos which didactilly explain what to do and give exercises, kudos!

This is great info and I appreciate the detail. I’m struggling though trying to manage this with speed control on a Hotas setup. Both hands are locked to the sticks and I find the hat switch in my right stick interferes with trigger control if I try strafing and turning on the same stick. A follow up vid demonstrating this with your setup would be helpful. I’m finding that using a dedicated throttle while strafing is cumbersome at best so I’m trying to find the right keybindsnand adjustments that would work efficiently.
