    Thanks so much for your clear, complete and concise explanations of concepts that a certain more popular channel would take hours of self-obsessed rambling to cover. I've found the exercises you demonstrate to be extremely helpful in breaking my bad habits and building good ones.

    Love your videos! I would be very interested to see a video like yours about turrets, and turret/pilot tactics.
    Specific questions: I am a gladiator bomber owner and pilot, and thus far, my strategy on the rare occasion I have a gunner is "keep the enemy up". I would LOVE a short tutorial to
    A: learn how to fly for my gunner's benefit
    B: have something to quickly educate my gunners with on what to expect from my maneuvers
    I am excited to use your videos to refine my approach to larger targets as well as general dogfighting

    Have u ever explained on why you use lead pip instead of lag pip?

    • @The_Diginaut
      @The_Diginaut Рік тому

      He's said it helps you understand the relative motion between your ship and the opponent better than a lag pip, which I agree with. A lot of people say you get better accuracy with lag, but I feel like I hit more shots and have better movement against light fighters with lead. I have a toggle for lag for when I'm fighting a large ship with my org and I want to call a certain shield face for us to target, usually the back. You can see exactly where on the ship the shots are going to land, and a Carrack isn't going to be circle strafing you lol

    These videos are top notch. Not guides these are training films. Only SC content that I have rewatched a couple times. Practice makes perfect. The flight model is complicated but can be mastered to a very high skill level.

    So when is this change in flight model coming where ships will get a massive limit in speed? Is it only theorized to come or is it actually coming and we just don’t know when?

    The trainee was using KBM. The usual W and D keybind is for thrust. What do you advise us KBMs to bind the up and down strafe that’s most optimal? Thanks
    Your videos are really really good. 👍🏼

    • @The_Diginaut
      @The_Diginaut Рік тому +1

      The biggest cheap upgrade I did before going sticks and pedals was a quality mouse with good, accessable, not overly crowded side buttons.
      For strafes however, the default keybinds are fine. You'll primarily be using upstrafe and sidestrafe, all of which are simultaneously accessable as space and A/D. I know side strafe conflicts with roll, you'll either have to juggle wasd, or maybe you could find a mouse with a thumbstick on the side? You don't have enough fingers on your left hand to independently access buttons for up, down, left strafe, right strafe, roll left, roll right, forward, backward, and boost, unless you were exposed to a lot of radiation as a child, so you have to make certain sacrifices.
      The only conflict with downstrafe is boost, as both are accessed with your pinky, but downstrafe is a lightly used spice in your movement, and you don't need to boost downstrafe.
      If you struggle with throttle control at all, I recommend setting your speed limiter at SCM or very slightly above, and setting a side button to toggle the limiter on/off.
      Some of the best pilots in the game use mouse and key. Binary inputs have their advantages. The speed limiter is going to be the most important thing if you're struggling with movement.

      @@The_Diginaut thanks for the insight! And yeah I am afraid I wasn’t exposed to radiation but at quite adept with the 5 fingers I have so far. 😆

    • @teahousereloaded
      @teahousereloaded Рік тому

      One change I’d make is rebind w + d to up and downstrafe and find a mouse button for throttle.
      That makes switching to sticks much easier.

    • @CaptTsubasa09
      @CaptTsubasa09 Рік тому

      @@teahousereloaded I have the VKBs but have been too used to KBM. I did try to bind throttle onto mouse recently but I just couldn’t get used to it.

    My problem is having a atmo flight style/elite dangerous flight style programed into my head from its release and going to star citizen its very hard to break that, then trying to turn curves/degree's and everything els is rough lol.

    • @The_Diginaut
      @The_Diginaut Рік тому

      If you play FPS games, especially one that relies heavily on movement like Apex, you'd be better off thinking about it in those terms, like how you'd wiggle or jiggle peak to shake off damage and out dps someone, or hit a slide while firing. Or how you would crouch to make yourself "not there when the bullets arrive." Making yourself super hard to hit until they need to reload, then stopping your movement to take the shot. But then add up and down, and take away cover lol

    Why do you always backstrafe and run for shields when you fight skilled pilots? You don't practice what you preach. The moment you fight a pilot of equal or greater skill, your fundamentals break down.

    • @The_Diginaut
      @The_Diginaut Рік тому

      Where did that happen? Also, people who don't know how to push and lack throttle discipline are the ones who always complain about others "getting shields."
