Rachmaninoff himself, a master arranger, would be completely satisfied and very proud of this. Congratulations.

True but when I do, I say it as myself and not speaking for a dead guy lol. Shes damn good. But who knows what the composer would have thought, that was my first reaction to this esteemed colleagues comment aforementioned above, notwithstanding, an amazing performance. Thus ends my ted talk. @@windyr
Hi everyone, thank you so much for your comments ! Wasn’t expecting all these reactions and demand for a sheet, I am currently working on it
Nice ;) go girl
Babe, you are one of a kind. Never quit being who you are. I pray one day an excellent man finds your hand.
Such a beautiful arrangement, I never thought it could sound like this on guitar 🤯
This is such a grimly-beauiftul piece of music. Excellent performance, and the tone of that guitar and room is just *chef's kiss*. Well done!
Post moar
As a pianist, I didn't even know this was possible on the guitar. You are amazing
Most things that pianists do is possible on guitar, except for pieces that have very low notes and high notes are the same time.
@@imacat8476 you can use tapping in that case. So all things are possible)
@@Dukapb81yea on an electric with 8 strings such piano pieces are posssible with integrated tapping. But nobody is tapping on a nylon acoustic because it sounds like shit.
@@saulright5089 Shit doesn`t have any sound itself. bro... Unless someone steps in it. Then there's gonna be a lot of sounds😂😂
@@Dukapb81 are you drunk? Idk what u try to say
It’s amazing. I’m a pianist and never thought that Rachmaninov harmony can be reproduced on guitar. Bravo!
Never in a million years did I expect to see someone play, let alone arrange this piece for classical guitar. Really well done. You have fantastic technique and dynamics!
Was just about to comment the exact same thing. This is Amazing!
Same here...I did a double take and literally said out loud to myself "wa!?"
I didn't know it could be adapted to guitar but I mean...here we are!
You should check out the guy who did it by using his lip
As a classical pianist, I enjoyed this performance. Keep it up! Your dynamics, resonance control and arrangement choices were very good, and it's cool you chose to use C#ADGBE!
I’m delighted to receive feedback from a classical pianist and to hear that you enjoyed it. Thank you 🙂
Yeah, I thought that low E string was tuned differently.
Playing with different tunings can be creatively rewarding.. Which it definitely was here. Great performance!
@@AlexanderraymanIt's just standard with dropped E string...
I'm just some random asshole that plays guitar, but I love this piece on the piano, and have always loved the resonance of the song, and I was going to comment about her command of it in this arrangement. Really well done.
I play guitar badly and fell in love with classical guitar originally. Now I inherited a piano from my grandfather and am learning classical piano. Going to attempt to learn this piece on both before I die.
THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST PERFOMANCE AND ARRANGEMENT OF THIS PIECE ON GUITAR! HUGE BRAVOOO👏❤️
THANK YOU !! :)
If i was the guitar manufacturer i would be flattered that someone played such a beautiful arrangement so good on a guitar of mine.
Amazing performance, the guitar really managed to express the pain of this piece in a way a piano sometimes can't
iirc the song is about a dream Rachmaninoff had where he saw his own body at an open casket funeral and has a meltdown or something like that. may be way off base with that tho, it’s been a while
Amazing! This lady made it sound like a lost Villa-Lobos prelude! 🤯🥹💗🙌🏼
Wow, thank you !
Precisely! I've always felt that Rachmaninoff and Villa-Lobos are kindred spirits. Loved this arrangement 🖤

I hear you! These last few years have been the hardest of my entire life of 73 years. Music is what gets me through the hardest days and nights. If you take away my oxygen, I will figure something out. If you take away my music, I am done.
This is beyond gorgeous - beautiful piece, exquisitely arranged and wonderfully played.
Sergei has been fighting depression for decades, first they make him believe he can write music, then make him leave his county. His music is often considered dark, but to me it is a remedy for the mind. And the most healing piece of music I have ever heard is his 3rd piano concerto played by Martha Agerich, it helped me a lot in my darkest days.
This was wonderful to listen to, the player, the arranger, the instrument, the musical expression, they are all one and the same.
As both a pianist and a guitarist I am compelled to commend you on this most excellent arrangement and immaculate performance. Exceptional in every way. Please give us more!
Superb performance. As other comments said "very surprised to hear this Rachmaninoff piece played so perfectly on the guitar".
The molody in the bass was well executed and the resonance is sustained long. Superb control of Melody and accompaniment. Suoerb technique in the 2nd movement, flawless technique while maintaining the legato of the melody and changes in chord.
Some surprises in using semi rasquados in some chords, add different character to the performance.
Overall, just one word Bravo Superb.
I love the way you play. So graceful. And I’m grateful for both you and UA-cam to bring artists like you to the rest of us. Where would we be without you, the artist, and UA-cam, the medium that connects us? What a wonderful time to be alive. Thank you.
The skill and practice you have put into this piece (while at the same time adding your own personal feel to it) is nothing short of amazing! The thing that is the most amazing is the sheer emotion behind the instrumentation. If music doesn't have emotion, it has no soul. This music have that chilling beauty that takes you to another place, bravo!!
Holy moly! What a gem just showed up in my UA-cam recommendations. I don't know much about guitar, but as a classically-trained pianist, professional composer, and BIG fan of the Rachmaninoff preludes, this was amazing! I can't believe how well this arrangement works. Your dynamic range, your touch, your voicing, and your phrasing are all exquisite! Subscribed here and Insta. Keep it up!
I'm a guitarist who plays a little piano and I've been trying to play this piece (my favorite for the piano since I was a child) for decades. I never thought to translate it to the guitar - it seems much easier to play there rather than struggling with those voicings that are quite close together yet cover a wide range of keys on the piano, not to mention reading the double sharps from the sheet music.
@@scientistwithanaxe2570 there is nothing easy about this arrangement on guitar
You captured the drama of the original composition absolutely perfectly! Impeccable.
Impossible perfomance. So impressive. I'm speechless. 😮
This is the most beautiful thing I've heard all week. Perfect arrangement. Nothing could improve on it.
First time I hear/see Rachmaninoff played on a classical guitar! Love it
As a young man my father was a concert pianist. This was a piece he played. When I was old enough to start playing, about 5 years old, he would play it for me and I learned to love it, eventually playing it myself. It has always been a beautiful and powerful piece. I don't recall hearing it played on the guitar. But it works so well. Many memories. I enjoyed your rendition immensely. Just lovely.
lovely story my man, thanks for sharing
I want to say Thanks god for gifted people like her still being born in this uncanny world. And again thanks the lord for give me the sensitivity to appreciate it. Her physical beauty will stay with us a long time, she is young, but her truly beauty will stand for ever.
Absolutely stunning! The technique, arrangement, and interpretation displayed in this video are astounding. It's remarkable how one of the most beautiful pieces for piano has been so seamlessly reinvented for classical guitar. Kudos for the artistry and sensitive musicianship. The emotional depth of Rachmaninoff's original has been captured under a fresh light on the guitar. Greetings from Brazil!👏
Thank you so much !
What a delightful surprise to hear Rachmaninoff played so expertly on guitar.
I am sure that Rachmaninov would be delighted with the arrangement and performance.
56 year old electric bassist hears Rachmaninoff for the first time just because it's arranged on a classic guitar and gets his mind blown - the experience is highly appreciated!!
Merci beaucoup Daniel !

And please let us know when you also have these arrangements available in sheet music. 💚

Magnifique ! Merci pour ce moment qu’une vie devrait permettre d’écouter ! Rachmaninoff nous rappelle à l’ordre
Please keep making these wonderful arrangements! I was very sad when I realized you've only uploaded twice...
From 3:25 to the end is just incredible. Every chord is so clean and flawless. Excellent fingering, the slight vibrato, just perfect.

Who would have thought Rachmaninoff would work so well on the guitar! . It easy to forget that with classical guitar you are hearing the sound produced by only one hand. Brilliant arrangement and performance. Great video and audio recording too .
I've never heard Prelude in C Sharp Minor on classical guitar but wow this is amazing.
This is a gem. I have played classical guitar for many years and i have never seen someone play Rachmaninoff so effortlessly and beautifully ❤️❤️❤️
Can you please publish the sheet music for this piece. I would love to try and play it
I swear, I live under a rock as this is my introduction to Rachmaninoff. I was sold after those first 3 2 note chords then the rest is pure magic.
This absolutely enchanted me. I didn't move the entire time. You are spectacular and mesmerizing. You are extremely gifted and blessed.

Yeah. What he said.
Да, красавица. У меня глюк, или для этого произведения струны поменяны зеркально?
If people are unfamiliar with this piece I would HIGHLY recommend searching up what thinking lead to Rachmaninoff to write this, and then re-listen to this arrangment. Out of all the versions and arrangments of this piece this one does the best job I've ever heard of, really capturing the emotions behind the piece and reflecting them in such a strong, nuanced manner. Good job! ❤
A very close friend of mine, been a musician for forty years, absolutely hates classical music. But he has a stack of albums of various Rachmaninov symphonies.
My friend is a heavy metal/hard rock guitarist and vocalist and he always says if classical music had a rock, fringe, composer, it’s Rachmaninov. I’m not sure what he means by that, but then again I find classical music interesting but cannot be confused with a connoisseur.
This however was fantastic.
But I’m an idiot.
@@brokl26 as a metalhead i completely understand what he means and hes like so right 😭😭
@@snowy686 My music complexity pretty much stops at “what I like” and “what I don’t like”.
I actually enjoy Rachmaninov because through by friend, I’ve had more access to it, since the early 80s. So, I don’t get the connection he makes to metal.
I’m a huge fan of rock that’s very much on the fringe, because that’s where I am. I’m by no means status quo. Tony, my friend and I connected over similar upbringing and similar tastes in music, movies and literature.
I have been wondering how he formed his view of Rachmaninov but, through all these years, I refused to have him break it down for me. I’m afraid of feeling like a bigger idiot than I already lay claim to.
Très formidable!
Merci de nous partager votre performance.
This performance and arrangement are awe inspiring. Brilliant beyond words.
To me you are the first (and perhaps the best) artist who played this great tune on guitar. Nice idea, arrangement and great performance, thank you 😊

I've often considered arranging this for classical guitar, since I've long admired the piece and wanted to be able to play it. It gives me joy seeing it both arranged and performed so well. Fantastic job, and thank you!
Big hug from Colombia- Astounding performance.

Very good Edith Pageaud. You truly played in accordance with the Law.
Wow. Not only did you do a phenomenal job playing this with feeling, but the tone of the guitar was beautiful.
These classical guitars can be colossally expensive because the best ones are hand-made by artisans of the craft. I'm not sure what she's playing, but it's a fantastic-sounding instrument in the right hands, which she clearly possesses.
C'est la première fois que j'entends un arrangement de ce compositeur à la guitare. Très belle interprétation !

This is a stunning performance of what would be one of the most difficult of musical performances on a piano. Just awesome; thanks so much; Edith !
I watched this piece played on piano. The piano version sounds a lot darker and more tragic. Your version on guitar is lighter and even a bit contemplative. I guess each instrument and the musician playing it changes the mood in some way.
That was amazing. Incredible and very enjoyable. Who would've thought Rachmaninoff sounded so natural on guitar. Bravo!
