DIY guide to for the removal and replacement of a CV driveshaft on a Mitsubishi ZH Outlander. I'll also be changing out the CV boots on the inner and out joints. This covers the 2nd generation Outlander

Is there any way to get just the outer one off without taking the inner one off

Mitsubishi repair manual says that the outer joint can not be disassembled. It may be possible, however I've always taken the approach to replace both boots while the driveshaft is out of the car so the inner joint is the path of least resistance to disassemble. But in saying that there are other options around - like CV boots that can be stretched over the CV (but special tools are required to do it) and I've even seen split CV boots that you can put over the shaft and then the two halves are glued together.

Nothing particularly special there - I just ordered boots to suit from my local auto parts store.

I have another question. If I pullout the CV joint. Is the ATF fluid gonna leak? Should I prepare atf fluid too?

@@emersoncosejo9983 possibly, I would expect to loose some, but not a lot. Just jack up one side at a time when doing them so the fluid is mostly at the opposite side of the trans
