Chuck’s tips on buying/converting a schoolie: buy a conventional, steer clear of underslung engines, do a roof raise, never keep the factory windows. Also Chuck: let me show you my best build - a Crown with none of that advice followed. 😂 To be fair the Crown is the rightful King of Schoolies and this is an exceptional example of what can be done when you start with the right bus. Kudos to you sir and the client for choosing the right bus and the right shop to convert. Let’s hope there are some construction videos in the archives to come.

One of the best builds I've ever seen. There aren't a lot of buses where the interior design so nicely matches the exterior. It's got a serious mid-mod vibe inside. I love it.

Absolutely gorgeous!! After seeing the beautiful conversion and the quality you and your team put into this build makes it that much sadder to see y’all closing the shop but I do understand brother!! There’s not many builders throughout this country that have the skills or whom have the pride to go to this extent on a build. This is one that will truly be around for generations to come and will be responsible for so many incredible memories Chuck and you will be responsible for every one of them. You truly out did yourself on this one and if your gonna go out then you may as well set that bar incredibly high and go out on top of the world!!! Well done my friend!! Absolutely well done!! This is nothing short of a show winner anywhere she goes!

Loved the travel shots at the end, that’s the whole point. Oh and those beds, what kid won’t want to sleep in such a cool floating bunk bed, and still some headroom for mom and dad to you know what. Beautiful as it is, It’s important that you can actually live in it and not abide in it. I might steal that dinette idea.

I hope your trip to Seattle was fun. This bus is a classic work of art and your team should be so proud. Some of those features are exactly how I want my bus. . . some day.

BITD we'd hang hammocks across the storage hang downs on a 1960s bus. Management nix'd that, because it was stripping the bolts out of the roof. The kiddo beds reminds me of that. One mount on a corner? Should be 3x and spaced out. #babyjail

And it's a two-stroke?! This thing is amazing. Great work. A bit skeptical of what appears to be the stock metal ceiling but everything else is amazing. Maybe you addressed the ceiling insulation.

I've watched several of your build videos so far. I think I know why your business wasn't booming. No one wants to pay for your quality of build. Everything is so well made and so well thought through. Your level of skill and attention to detail costs money.

@chuckcassidy Please answer one simply question for me and my schoolie! Why use ACX for interior framing and not CDX? everywhere I've read seems to say that the only difference is a nicer finish on one side. No structural integrity issues! Yet the ACX is twice as expensive! Thank you! Love you! ❤

Chuck, I seems like no matter how much I google things like RV washing machines, I can never come up with one like in this bus. How in the world do you find this stuff? I also like the rest of the appliances, but I'm already past that with my build. However, the washing machine would be a nice find. Where would I find one like that? Thanks for all you do!

Amazing work. This may be my favorite bus that you have given us a tour of. I love the layout. It looks very comfortable.
Have you used a Dickenson at altitude? I'm planning on using one on my build but havent found much info on how well they would work in the mountains. (6,000+ feet)

Quick question... that bus doesn't have a metal floor like a regular skoolie. Did you put down plywood, then insulation (Foamular 250 ?) then the subfloor or did you glue the insulation directly on the floor frame ? What would you do on an MCI bus where the bays under the bus floor would prevent the foam from being exposed to the elements ? Is Foamular 250 strong enough in compression to sit on the frame or does it need plywood under it ?
Great channel ! Thanks for sharing everything.
