    I was wondering if your family is still doing bus life? My fiancé and I are particularly interested in this type of mobile lifestyle for our family of 4 and it was refreshing to see this video of your family’s journey. A true inspiration!

    The kids don't look as thrilled as their parents.
    It will be interesting to find how kids develop their social skills after living years like a tumbling tumbleweed without having best friends, birthday parties, etc.
    Happy trails

      You're comment is ridiculous. Those kids beds are the same size beds they would have if they were in a home. You think they are going to put small kids in an adult size bed?! You can't stand to see someone happy and not being gluttonous.

    A lovely family! Hope you don’t mind me saying but a couple of comments hint that you may have come from a fairly ‘comfortable’ situation and yet you seem very happy when you talk about downsizing and ‘getting rid of things’. It’s so nice to see things are working out well for your family.
    I love the washer and dryer and the separated bathroom space. Safe travels!

      We had a big house and a lot of stuff. We were not experiencing life and time with our children because we were working so hard to pay for the house and all the things. We came to the realization that we wanted to focus on time with our family instead of material things. It felt amazing when we started getting rid of the stuff that no longer mattered to us. Does that make sense? ❤️

    So cool! Love the changes you made to make it feel more like home. I hope you post videos of all of your trips! You mentioned that you would not have driven the bus the way you did on your drive from Utah to Iowa if you knew then what you know now. Can you Elaborate on that a little bit more? I saw another family say they only drive about 300 miles a day, is that the recommendation? Can’t wait to see more!

    • @TheHockingAdventureBus
      @TheHockingAdventureBus  2 роки тому +3

      Thank you! Oh gosh we were clueless on that trip home. A few things we have learned since then…up and down shift through mountains…don’t shut the bus off immediately after driving. A lot of the other stuff was related to solar and having no idea how much we could run things. We try to travel 200 miles a day now. That’s plenty for us. We are slow and everyone gets crabby ☺️.

    If your family ever makes it to AZ in the future message me and would love to meet y’all and maybe show you restaurants great areas to hike etc. when you come to AZ we are in Waddell near white tank mountain. It’s beautiful here. Your home is so beautiful and love all your special touches.
    Also how do you afford to travel after money from selling runs out? Do y’all both work remotely? It’s just great to see families doing this. It’s beautiful God bless your family!!

    Since this was 2 years ago, I assume it's become clear that a microwave uses WAY less energy than an oven, and probably the same as a toaster. Heating up coils and keeping them hot for a longer period of time is far, far less energy efficient, assuming stove and toaster are electric.

    We're reconditioning a Scotty camper here for boondocking... what do you guys do with the dog or cat in National Parks?

    • @TheHockingAdventureBus
      @TheHockingAdventureBus  2 роки тому

      That’s great! We usually boondock outside of the park and leave the dog in his kennel. We have a mini split we run if needed to control the temp while we are gone.

    I seen your bus this morning during my morning walk. The first thing I noticed was your solar setup and how impressive it was. I do have few questions, do you find the front panels having any fatigue for the wind since they are located so close to the front end of the bus? Also you said you have 4- 200ah battery setup, what chemical make up is your bank( lead acid, agm or lithium) and if its LA or AGM is there a limitation of the runtime of the mini split?

    • @TheHockingAdventureBus
      @TheHockingAdventureBus  2 роки тому +1

      Awesome! We haven't had any issues with the solar panels. We actually redid our solar setup after this video. We have 4- 200ah lithium batteries now. They are wired together for a 48v system. We can run the mini split all day when we have sun. We are conservative at night when we don't have power coming in.

    The best conversioni see for people with kids so far is a two story. These gentlmena raised the roof. Its too small and confided for a family of 6 consider reconstructing amd raiding the roof sonthat the kids will have more room. Only if you can
