I love Trevino's swing. Jim Morrison of the Doors based his swing on The Merry Mex and wound up carrying a +4 handicap out at Riviera Country Club. He actually wrote a song where the lyrics may sound familiar to you . Break on through the other side which was all about how Trevino got through the ball. Had Morrison taken another path, no doubt he would have been one of the world's greatest golfers.

Lee Trevino step is actually a mini Happy Gilmore step-up swing. He is moving up forward to the ball to the point he likes the position, then plants front foot and swings.

I also like to rock into my swing. I try to to simulate like I’m just swinging back n forth, back n forth.
A little of that can be great, but some end up swaying too much
Milo, I noticed a swing plane trainer in the background. I have toyed with the idea of buying one or does a couple of alignment rods stuck in the ground work just as well?

the Merry Mex passed on invitations to the Masters three times (1970, 1971 and 1974). At the time, he attributed his absence to not liking the course. In 1969, he said: “I’m never going to play there again. They can invite me all they want, but I’m not going back. It’s just not my type of course.” Skipping the year’s first major was quite a statement for one of the top players in the world. 🙄

Ha ha she played the LPGA tour for 15+ years I think she swings it ok. Almost every great player moves off the ball some amount in the takeaway the key is recentering before the club starts back down.
