Killmonger was never trying to take shortcuts. He wanted a legitimate fight for the throne. No weapons- no suits needed. His WILL and DRIVE were his weapons. He never, ever tried to cheat the system. He didn't just show up at WAKANDA w/ his key, he proved his worth by dragging a body to the door! This character is fucking awesome!
Totally agree his plan was meticulous to the tee. He kept all the focus on Klaw to draw out the wakandans and then used the disarray he caused within wakanda to his advantage to get the throne. People who are saying he disappeared for half the movie or wanted more of him don’t realize that sometimes too much can be a bad and also don’t understand the intricacies of his plan. I thought they developed him perfectly, showed that he was willing to kill any and everyone in his way so for the first time in a while you felt like anyone could have died at the end of the movie there (except black panther) and on top of all that you could sympathize with his perspective because due to his father he was exiled. As T’Challa said, his father and those decisions to remain isolated created him so they were now dealing with those consequences.
djx2clpu4 that scene with N'Jadaka that I quoted was at the end of the movie. Even though you are not interested in it. I don't want to give anything not to spoil for anyone else. I thought was a great movie. N'Jadaka is a great villain. But that's my opinion.
djx2clpu4 if the subject that was referred to in one line either offends you, disgust you, or puts you off going to see a movie, read a book, or have a conversation then you are trying to avoid the subject because you think people are blaming you for what happened instead of them just acknowledging that it happened.
This movie was bloody brilliant. The costumes, music and productions design. The world building, the supporting characters. I can't wait to see it again already!
I did not like the movie and wanted to love it. I have nothing to do with the DC idiots. This movie just felt way more like Thor 2 than Winter Soldier to me.
Revan 1313 that's why i said "the best villain" VILLAIN. I didn't say HERO, there's a difference between best VILLAIN and best HERO. Got it? Besides, Europe committed numerous atrocities in South America, Asia, Africa, and Oceania. That's Killmonger's motivation. He wanted revenge and kill or enslave them all. Making him a great villain. But what did Black Panther said, it is not the right way. That's why they opened Wakanda to the world and share their knowledge so that they can help those who cannot defend themselves.
Agreed he was the character i enjoyed watching most on The screen. But to be honest, I can't say he had most time to develop compared to vulture or loki. +Ismael Martinez I'm the comics, T'Chaka took in a white Boy who effectively became T'Challa's brother but was also a villain going by White Wolf. I don't know why Bucky would be WW to be honest seeing as like I mentioned he's a villain of sorts.
I really wanna see a scene in Infinity War were Tony and Bruce are working on upgrading the Hulk Buster and they're struggling with something. Ryan Coogler and Michael B Jordan can do no wrong. 3 for 3. Shuri with the Back to the Future II reference. only true disappointments for me were the opening and final fight sequences and some CGI throughout the film.
I liked it very much, but the CGI was terrible most of the time. The action was very weak due to too much green screen and weightless cgi. The characters and actors rose above some lousy dialog and pacing issues.
I’ve said that the action (first/final fight) and effects are weak on other videos and people have gone crazy. It’s like we’re not allowed to point out this film’s flaws without a backlash -.-
right before Shuri gives T'Challa the new Black Panther footwear she calls "sneak-ers" she makes a reference to a movie that their dad always used to watch with automatic laces. just assuming she was referring to the Nike Power Laces, or i could've just heard that entire fucking scene wrong, haha.
Though he was entertaining M'baku comes off as frustrated & a bit bitter with the royal family. Which to me makes no sense. The Jabari tribe made the decision along time ago to exclude themselves from the nation, even though they lived in Wakonda. To me it was a natural reaction for the other tribes to slowly cutback communications with the Jabari tribe. It's no different than when a friend exludes him/herself from various outtings with other friends. Resulting in the other friends slowly stopping communications.
Odin and T'Chaka are basically the same. They do wrong things for the right reasons, for the goodness of their kingdom. They are great kings but they ain't perfect.
Seeing Shuri chop it up with Tony Stark will be ok, but what I would be hyped to see is Shuri chop it up with Peter Parker. Two teenage geniuses, getting on each other's nerves.
The part you are talking about is when T'Challa brings Ross BACK to Wakanda to be healed and he learns about the Wakanda RnD division inside the Vibranium mine. To me I remember these moments for 2 reasons: 1. The MOMENT he chose to bring an Outsider to Wakanda, let alone a SPY outsider, I was thinking "Oh boy....there are gonna be some really Pissed off councilors back home. How is he going to explain this?" and JUST as I was thinking that, the FILM ADDRESSES that SAME dilema. I was blown away by well thought out the plot was. and 2. The RnD lab being in the Vibranium mine made a LOT of sense, and I also learnt that sonic emissions can Indeed dampen out the effects of Vibranium, i.e. it DOES have a weakness! Also learnt that Vibranium is incredibly volatile in its raw state and cannot be transported at high speeds in such a form. Hence I never found these scenes to be forgettable, because they were important for building the world of Wakanda.
Without "the set up" in Iron Man 2 and beyond, you can't get to Infinity War and beyond. You critics need to get over that. It's the 18th goddamn Movie. Without continuity the whole MCU doesn't work.
Michael B. Jordan was incredible and possibly their best villain ever. He was DANGEROUS and had MOTIVATION- something far too rare with all movie villains.
The POLITICS or moreover the ETHICS being discussed were the strongest part. It took on the horrible history of COLONIALISM head on, but not in a preachy way.
Chadwick Boseman cares about the characters he portrays and he is so convincing where you almost feels that he is real. Confronting Zuri wanting to know the truth as to what really happened to N'Jobu was a powerful moment. The raw emotion from T'Challa and Zuri was perfect.
Are you getting paid for your reviews or comments? I don't think we saw the same movie it was corny as fuck I literally just got out of the movie 10 minutes ago and I hated it they try to blame every black person's problems on someone else and I watch comic book movies to get away from politics and the fake shit going on in the real world. Movies are becoming Terrible No One puts any time into him it seems like the writing is terrible and movies are almost just a waste of money nowadays black panther was fucking terrible
Black panthers one of my favorite characters and it turned into a bitch he was amazing in Civil War but then after Civil War when he goes back to Wauconda he can barely defeat someone with a spear a regular spear smoothie was bullshit just like Thor Ragnarok was bullshit
I saw Asgard in 3 movies never felt that same way as I did with Wakanda in just 1 movie. Black Panther and Wakanda is Disney new tale. I just don't see a sequel I see a Wakanda spin off story, or stories with Afro Futurism.
joseph banks really wakanda felt just like asgard where we see some of a civilization not all if it. We see the main city not much much else of wakanda.
What’s interesting about killmonger and Loki are they almost have a similar storyline. If killmonger was brought in, he would have been the jealous cousin who would have pulled the Loki role so what they did was perfect because it was getting to see what would have happened otherwise. I think we can see in both cases strong willed characters like this would eventually turn out of jealousy and envy
I'm glad Marvel Studios took the brutal route with Killmonger in this movie. If they tried to make another Loki, it would have ruined T'Challa's character arch. Erik was a Wakandan left behind by T'Chaka. It was this realization that made T'Challa call-out the injustice and acknowledge the truth as he did with Zemo in 'Civil War'
One reason I really loved this film, is because some of the parallels it had with "Man of Steel" for me. With the villains, their relationship to the hero, and the heroes relationship to their father, it was so good for me.
Everyone knows he is the Black Panther. When Captain America, Black Panther and Bucky were running in the highway chase scene in Civil War they got caught by WarMachine and police officers. While being on the news in this scene, Black Panther took off his helmet.
Louis Freeman My favorite scene was when he went back to the Djalia and shouted down his ancestors. Their whole society is built upon revearing the past.
Damn this film was great every character was fleshed out I loved the the talks between t challa and his dad, his dad was so committed to wakanda he killed his own brother to protect it, and his brother betrayed him so he could help his people in America, so many levels to this film Coogler is the man the way Fruitvale station Creed and then Black Panther his films are all character driven with powerful messages in them.
Great movie!! Better than WW! Only flaw I’ll throw out there...multiple sequences of noticeable unfinished CGI. But the story and characters surpass that flaw.
The final scene with T’Challa and Erik sitting on the overview and looking at the sunset was very reminiscent of when he did the same thing with Baron Zemo. And Erik’s final words were heart-wrenching.
David Stoneback Yeah But I liked how he dies because he chooses death rather than surrender. Black Panther was willing to save him but Kilmonger refused.
But Black Panther has better set design and costume design. The issue they’re dealing with is current and important, and Wakandan people are awesome, peaceful, and value their family while Odin is just such a jerk in so many ways.
Variant Wearing sunglasses the issue was addressed years ago in X-Men, was it not important then? Yeah Wakandan people were peaceful, but they didn't even try to expand their peaceful and more advanced ways with the rest of the world, but again, that's why I loved this villain, just wish there was more of him
Finally got to see BP. I thought it not only continued the streak of entertaining MCU films, but it really separated itself while bringing so much to the universe overall.
CIVIL WARS ethical theme: should superheros need oversight? BLACK PATHERS ethical theme: How has COLONIALISM effected the world and how we, now, decide who we aid or want aid from.
Im not knocking CIVIL WAR- its great. Im just saying that if you think that quandary caused conflict between characters- this is right up your alley- at light speed!
Best Marvel film hands down man down! "Bury me in the ocean with my ancestors who jumped from ships, because they knew death was better than bondage" N'Jadaka 2018. Harloff is right Killmonger is now the BEST MCU villian hands down man down. Next up Static Shock, ICON, BLUE MARVEL, BLADE (reboot), and Ja Zaki The Red Lion please #BPFOREVER
White wolf is the adopted white son of T'Chaka and step brother of T'Challa. He is a villian at first due to his jealousy towards Black Panther and because of him being white and ostracized because of it. He later does something to earn the full trust and respect of the Wakandan people and becomes chief of Wakanda police. He is currently a hero. His name is Hunter!
Raghu Seetharaman It has nothing to do with race. It is a more fitting character progression for Bucky to become Cap. Aside from the visual foreshadowing of Bucky wielding Cap's shield in every movie, it would round out a great redemption arc of Bucky taking care of Steve, then becoming a bad guy and eventually redeeming himself by carrying on Steve's legacy. Falcon has only known Steve for a couple of years whereas Bucky is his oldest friend. Not everything is a race issue.
As much as I enjoy closing credits scenes, I am glad that there were only 2 in Black Panther. Being only two scenes, gave them deeper meaning than some other Marvel films. I felt that the Bucky scene was touching. The look on his face when he said thank you to Shuri was touching. It reminded me of the relief and the peace that one feels after being very sick for a very long time. The 5 Guardian extra scenes were almost too much of a good thing. As usual.the Stan Lee cameo was fun (placed early in this movie).
Guys, it’s a action movie, a popcorn flick, a pg13 kids superhero movie. I liked it but why does everyone pretend it was this deep soul searching emotional rollercoaster. It wasn’t. It’s a movie about a guy in a technological panther suit from a fictitious country. Nothing more nothing less. Standard blockbuster entertainment.
Actually i really loved how they placed bucky return scene for the end although bucky barnes is my fav MCU Character i am glad they didnt put him in the movir then it would have felt a repeatition of other MCU movies
Denzel Whitaker is NOT Forest Whitaker's son. And he is a brilliant actor. He has been standing toe to toe with oscar winners since he was a teenager. #WhenAssumptionsGoLeft
Raghu Seetharaman ya okkkk!! Bro I love DC and marvel. The movie was not that great. I was also part of the DCEU Black panther 7/10 all the actors did a great job. Especially Michael B Jordan. There was a lot of boring parts in the film!
Raghu Seetharaman are you smoking some heavy chronic. I just said I like the movie it’s not a great movie. I love all comic book movies. You act like they’re the bloods and Crips you’re all superheroes I’m happy that you’re making them. The movie had a lot of boring parts. You’re just on the bandwagon. Black panther wasn’t even in the movie for 20 minutes.
i dont think it thats far out to go to that assumption though to be fair, sure they are not related it seems but they both have the 2nd name, (need to watch the film again but felt like) he had the lazy eye, playing different ages of the same character which usually in a film like this the older actor can get a family member to play the younger age of their character etc
Amazing movie! Having seen Fruitvale Station, Creed, and now Black Panther, I am convinced we might be seeing the greatest director/actor pairing of our generation. Can anyone name a pair who have collaborated on such great films who are currently in their early 30's? I cannot wait to see the next film Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan collaborate on.
Why are people getting mad about a spoiler review? I saw the movie last night and i was really looking forward to this. Nobody forced you to watch this
To me M'Baku felt like Sonny Corleone very impatient, Hothead but at the same time he was very smart, wise the sense of humor he showed was just perfect just as Shuri.
Raghu Seetharaman Inpatient at first then he showed he had compassion and honor by saving Tchalla's life. He caught me off guard with his performance. Winston did a great job in his limited screen time.
I felt Bucky was a good scene, because I was wondering where he was the entire Movie. Cap would obviously be out rescuing his friends, but I feel like Killmonger wouldn't hesitate to use Bucky for his cause if he was still in the palace.
Post 'Cap America: Civil War': one week later is the funeral/crowning/challenge established in 'Black Panther' Meanwhile, there was 'Ragnarok' and 'Guardians of the Galaxy V2'. So, for Earthly characters, my guess would be before Spider-Man: Homecoming events were occurring. Wakanda going public is going to unify the Cosmic and Earthly MCU
You are correct about everything you said but letting you know in the timeline that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 takes place in 2014, 6 months after the 1st Film. The movie starts in 1980 with Ego and Meredith and then cuts to the Guardians 34 years later which is 2014. One of the 5 mid credits scene shows a Teenage Groot which means that particular scene takes place closer to Avengers: Infinity War.
The 'Guardians' timeline in relation to the rest of the MCU was difficult to place for me. Thanks for the clarity! (Also, can't wait to see teenage Groot in 'Infinity War'!!!!)
I loved the Warrior falls sequence when T'Challa and M'Baku fought. Before they fight you see them with there signature masks especially with M'Baku dawning the Ape's Mask as in the comics he becomes Man-Ape.
I'm going to start fucking phone you now every God damn fucking video I see your asses in the comments a million times riding a fucking novel and it's all bullshit who the fuck pays you to write all these comments about Black Panther your fucking annoying you acting like you're super smart and talk about a movie that fucking sucks I think your a fucking troll and I'm going to troll your ass now stop fucking commenting on every goddamn Black Panther video ever fucking made I don't want to see you in the comments every single fucking time a million goddamn times who the fuck are you make your own fucking video
I want to see Shuri with Stark. He seems to love strong smart beautiful women. I am looking forward to him being impressed and Shuri just shutting him down with her humor.
The sequence that I like was the Lion King moment with T'Challa and Killmonger communing when they were in the ancestral plane by taking the Heart shaped Herb as the means to talking to their fathers. That was a touch scene but at the same time you see father's love for his son. The best part was the sequence with the Panther transforming to T'Chaka. Another storyline I liked was when T'Challa transported himself to the Ancestral Plane wanting to seek the truth as to why he abandoned N'Jobu's son. To me that scene almost mirrors to Odin but the scenario is reversed where Odin adopts Loki since he was abandoned by Laufey. Here of course the roles were reversed with T'Chaka not wanting to adopt Erik but abandon him because for T'Chaka Wakanda was his priority.
Killmonger what a great villain!!! You could totally understand his motivations and reasons. LONG LIVE The KING!!! Black Panther was amazing. Danai gurira!! She was good in this role.
This movie had so many elements of other movies...Im surprised you guys didn't call the Lion King theme of a supposably dead future King having to fight his way back to reclaim the throne and talking to his dead father for guidance etc..Also, the falling while fighting in the vibranium mountain scene was reminiscent of Antmans falling while fighting in a suitcase fight.
i feel like Black Panther is THE movie to show black kids/ black people to strive for and emulate, not just blacks in America but blacks EVERYWHERE. this is the level that a black person / the black community can achieve if they get their shit together and be consistent about it. yeah sure its a superhero movie but certainly its a much better example to emulate than whoever popular black artists is in the airwaves or on tv. its what i call the Superman effect -- a fictional person true, but its a figure that calls us to be the best version of ourselves.
Careful about suggesting the black community “get their shit together.” I’m black and a successful lawyer and business owner. There are millions of successful black people with their shit together. I understand the good intentions of your post but be careful with generalizations or painting the entire black community with one brush.
Ma La Well for starters, kids can emulate Ryan Coogler by becoming black filmmakers. Also plenty of dark skin girls and women can be optimistic about being cast in big budget movies, which wasn’t being done before.
Tristan Brown yes, you do have to get your shit together. This movie is criticizing so called successful blacks as well. Your people are at war. Be a resource for your people to fight against their enemies. Or be a selfish coward elitist like the Wakandans. Your choice.
Saw it last night. It was outstanding. I ❤️ it! It was definitely top 3 origin movie in the MCU. When BP was thrown off the cliff I felt gutted. I had a love/hated feeling for Killmonger. He is the best villain the MCU has had. Shuri is hands down my absolute favorite character in the movie. I hope she is given the Iron Man mantel when RDJ retires. I also think they set up BP perfectly and he will wield the Infinity Gauntlet. I took a friend who has never seen any of the Marvel movies and she loved it so much that she is now going to watch all them to get ready for Infinity Wars. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 well done Marvel! Seeing it again on Saturday!
Brilliant movie. Issues with the killing of Killmonger. Ugh a great villain and would love to have seen more of him in other movies but owell. CGI mehh. But everything else was just superb. I agree with P. I think the hype train will not be going anywhere long after the release of this film. Pretty sure we were all still stalking about Wonder Women right till the end of 2017. So yeah long live the king. I really hope Coogler and cole return to write and direct a sequel. Also this film will make 180+ opening weekend.
one thing I loved about the post credit scene was the little boy being I awe of black panther.. that moment was much deeper than you think. almost brought me to tears
The problem I had with Shuri (and most smart people in the MCU) Is that they tell us she is super smart, but we never actually see it. We see her lab with a bunch of cool things and we are told she made all of them but we never actually see her process. Whereas the entire first Iron Man movie is about him tinkering and becoming Iron Man, we see his creative process so we buy that he is a smart guy. I get it, Tony Stark is a main character, so the movie can devote more time to him. But to come out and make a claim that Shuri is smarter than Tony and not really sell it doesn't sit well with me. Loved her overall though.
There was no time for it in this movie but come on it’s not hard to believe, with the tech they had look what they got to work with since the beginning. Stark is brilliant for building what he did with what was available to him. If he got to work with this same tech growing up it’s hard to say who would be smarter. I’m sure we will get great scenes of it in Infinity war
Raghu Sharma All we saw was a bunch of final products we were told she built. Whereas we actually saw Tony build his suit, we saw him create a new element, we saw him improvise with garden materials. It wasn't just that we were told he was smart, he actually FELT smart.
+Mr. Manager I concur. It's fine if you're the best at something but actually prove it by showing it. Like even the joke about Hulk being the strongest Avenger, we have reason to believe that by the feats we saw him do over several movies. Most obvious being his one punch in Avengers. If CM is indeed more powerful then just show it, don't talk about it.
You addressed your own concern. This isn't an MCU thing, it's a secondary character trope in MOST films. If you're not a main protagonist then time is not a luxury to afford a fully fleshed out backstory. Best that can be done is show secondary characters tinkering with gadgets.
Raghu Sharma dude, I was thinking the same thing. He commented on one of my posts with some nonsense w/ nothing in common with the post. I was going down to see all his posts and.. for a second.... I thought you were him!
Raghu Sharma I've seen him claim to be a mod on SJ only to be debunked on the live chat.Seen him make racist and masterbation remarks on the live show and reminds people to give his comments the most likes.I'd say mental issues more so than try hard.
He's one those dickheads who thinks he see's SJ/PC issues on every street corner, once accused me on Jedi Council of being racist just because i said i didn't agree with what Joelle Monique said. Clown need's to take long look in mirror.
Came out thinking top five mcu movies. saw it again and it solidified my thoughts. Checked out my pre- infinity war rankings and saw the top five and thought to myself - what comes out of the top five?! Damn marvel make good movies. Ps the new BLack panther suit with the kinetic absorption ... unreal
I hate that casino Korea scene the car chase was fine but man that fight in the casino was boring and all over the place bit hard to keep focus Ryan coogler has done a better job filming fights in creed
Loved the Movie, the Dora Milaje were AMAZING, so many new awesome characters. Great action, great themes and world building. Not only a great MCU film, but an Important film in general.
theBearJewel Yes it was! It’s now probably my favorite MCU movie. Loved the world of Wakanda they showed us, plus the story is what kept my attention throughout the movie!
Wow, RB3 and I have the same score. The "Uncle Ben/Professor" death and "we won't help you... but show up suddenly at the end" were ugh moments for me and made me roll my eyes
The other Whitaker that plays the younger Zuri, isn't related to Forest Whitaker, they just have the same surname...Although the T'Chaka characters Old and young are father and son.
Lol Harloff thinks he forget the movie but it was all really great and he keeps thinking its fluttering but they went scene by scene, that’s actually how memorable it was. I’m also glad they managed to get three of the best songs from kendricks album in the film. Ending it with All the Stars was dope
Lol I didn’t say it was better than dark knight lmao. But this won’t be overhyped like Wonder Woman was, this movie was amazing and not because of a black cast and a black director which was the reason WW was successful
Love this review. Agree with most of the points. I didn’t understand what RB3 was talking about with generic moments and i still don’t know what part of the movie Kristian is talking about. I loved this movie and i can’t wait to see it again tomorrow.
In the theater I was at (Austin TX) people were chanting "T'Challa" during the credits. Never in my life I thought I would hear that name of all people be chanted in a theater. It was an amazing moment.
Raghu Seetharaman we get it dude calm down
Totally agree his plan was meticulous to the tee.
As T’Challa said, his father and those decisions to remain isolated created him so they were now dealing with those consequences.
sjoutsider this is my favourite comment, I got such a the wire vibe from the movie as well, and Michael b. Jordan was in it as well
Genocide is "awesome" is it?
sean galvin - he asked Klaw to get him through the back door. Klaw refused so he took his body as the key to the front door.
*Spoiler Warning*
Klaue's mixtape is actually fire.
"Bury me in the ocean with my ancestors who jumped from ships, because they knew death was better than bondage" N'Jadaka 2018
djx2clpu4 that scene with N'Jadaka that I quoted was at the end of the movie. Even though you are not interested in it. I don't want to give anything not to spoil for anyone else. I thought was a great movie. N'Jadaka is a great villain. But that's my opinion.
djx2clpu4 if you’re offended by this quote then you have other problems you need to sort out before seeing any movie.
N'Jadaka viewed all African people as his people.
#burymeintheocean only if you saw the movie you will understand
djx2clpu4 if the subject that was referred to in one line either offends you, disgust you, or puts you off going to see a movie, read a book, or have a conversation then you are trying to avoid the subject because you think people are blaming you for what happened instead of them just acknowledging that it happened.
This movie was bloody brilliant. The costumes, music and productions design. The world building, the supporting characters. I can't wait to see it again already!
Moral of the story: build bridges not walls... or invisible force fields...
Raghu Seetharaman
IMDb comments are garbage anyway.
I did not like the movie and wanted to love it. I have nothing to do with the DC idiots. This movie just felt way more like Thor 2 than Winter Soldier to me.
yeah its so great that killmonger wanted to commit genocide. amazing....what the hell is wrong with you
Revan 1313 that's why i said "the best villain" VILLAIN.
Way to make Susan Storm feel like shit
Killmonger had so much time to grow and develop naturally, and he turned out to be possibly the best MCU villain. Go figure.
Agreed he was the character i enjoyed watching most on The screen. But to be honest, I can't say he had most time to develop compared to vulture or loki. I feel sad that we Only say him first 10 minutes then he dissapears for 30 - 40 minutes. I wish he had even more time, but thats probably because i was rooting for Killmonger!
Raghu Seetharaman I feel like your comment has nothing to do with my comment. But I am gonna Google White Wolf now.
+Ismael Martinez
I'm the comics, T'Chaka took in a white Boy who effectively became T'Challa's brother but was also a villain going by White Wolf. I don't know why Bucky would be WW to be honest seeing as like I mentioned he's a villain of sorts.
SuperShanko thanks
I really wanna see a scene in Infinity War were Tony and Bruce are working on upgrading the Hulk Buster and they're struggling with something. Shuri turns up and Tony sort of mocks her, like talks down to her. Then she just goes up and fixes the Hulk Buster in like 2 seconds and then just walks off in like a mic drop moment
Excelsior32 we do know Bruce is in wakanda so I’m sure there will be a scene
I want that but with peter as well, like they bounce the problem off each other and can come up with the solution together, while Bruce and Tony just stand back and go well ok then. Because I don't want the MCU to forget how smart peter is as well.
Yes! That would be perfection!
Excelsior32 +
Excelsior32 the new ironman armor in Infinity War could be designed with the help of Shrui. In the trailer the suit materializes just like BP suit.
Marvel went next level with this movie. So powerful hats off to Ryan Coogler and this amazing cast .
When M'Baku and his crew started hollering when the agent tried to speak. That scene tickled the hell out of me
Ryan Coogler and Michael B Jordan can do no wrong.
What was the Back to the Future II reference, I must have missed it?
I’ve said that the action (first/final fight) and effects are weak on other videos and people have gone crazy. It’s like we’re not allowed to point out this film’s flaws without a backlash -.-
right before Shuri gives T'Challa the new Black Panther footwear she calls "sneak-ers" she makes a reference to a movie that their dad always used to watch with automatic laces. just assuming she was referring to the Nike Power Laces, or i could've just heard that entire fucking scene wrong, haha.
The final fight sequence was dope ...
it was more than Panther Vs kilmonger
M'baku is the most underrated character in this movie. The points he brought up also showed the bad decisions of previous Wakanda leaders.
tossitupman He really became the MVP by the end of the movie.
Agreed. I hope they explore his character and tribe more in the sequel.
tossitupman M Baku was tight!! OOOO Fasa! Shoutout to Winston Duke & did great for his first movie!
They both have one good eye
Yo, ahahahaaaaaa!
Odin a little worse tho 😂 but yeah
Great analogy!
And there absolute monarchs
Andy Serkis was today's version of Sean Bean
Caesar, Snoke, and now Klaue --all of them was killed in movies
Imam Syafi'i Gollum
hey now, this is spoilers video for Black Panther! Not other movies too :D
don't forget Kong and the cook in 2005's King Kong....
Bean is still king of deaths. Ceasar, Klaue and Snoke lasted more than 1 movie. Bean doesn't make it to the end credits 😂
I'm sorry. I thought since Black Panther is the latest one, I just presumed most people were already well aware of that fact.
To me I remember these moments for 2 reasons:
1. I was blown away by well thought out the plot was.
and
They killed the BEST MCU villain they ever had, and meanwhile Loki has died 5,312 times and is still here. Damn that trickster.
Killmonger ended up being the crux to BP's arc. He tought the hero a lesson!
I loved ALL the female characters- Loupita Nyongo is so incredibly attractive that she steals any frame she is in.
The art design was incredible, but the CGI and green screen let it down.
It was a 100% stand alone movie and that was sooo refreshing!
The POLITICS or moreover the ETHICS being discussed were the strongest part. It took on the horrible history of COLONIALISM head on, but not in a preachy way.
the character was good but mbj acting was kindaa bad. bad line reading
Shuri was my favorite character
Beast Lee mine too..
Same. When she is showing T'Challa the gadgets it reminded me of James Bond and Q, but better.
adorable, smart & kick ass - what a combination
I didn't consider Shuri a jokester. She's 16, it was natural
Fuck DC their movies are shittier than shit shit Superman's a bitch anyways
Black panthers one of my favorite characters and it turned into a bitch he was amazing in Civil War but then after Civil War when he goes back to Wauconda he can barely defeat someone with a spear a regular spear smoothie was bullshit just like Thor Ragnarok was bullshit
Raghu Seetharaman Chadwick killed it, great job.
Josh Mazzanti
BP>>>Thor 3>>>Gold>>>Shit>>>DC
I saw Asgard in 3 movies never felt that same way as I did with Wakanda in just 1 movie. Black Panther and Wakanda is Disney new tale. I just don't see a sequel I see a Wakanda spin off story, or stories with Afro Futurism.
joseph banks really wakanda felt just like asgard where we see some of a civilization not all if it. We see the main city not much much else of wakanda.
Black Panther: A movie where you know that the background is a green screen, but leaves you saying "hey, its a good looking green screen though."
DonnyYasu Hopefully they clean that up for the home video release.
Holy sh*t!! Now that was a movie!!! Standing ovation from the audience I was at. Much deserved.
One reason I really loved this film, is because some of the parallels it had with "Man of Steel" for me. With the villains, their relationship to the hero, and the heroes relationship to their father, it was so good for me.
In that 1st post credit scene I was expecting T'Challa to say .."truth is...I am The Black Panther"
I was hoping the suit would materialize around him :)
Everyone knows he is the Black Panther. When Captain America, Black Panther and Bucky were running in the highway chase scene in Civil War they got caught by WarMachine and police officers. While being on the news in this scene, Black Panther took off his helmet.
Agent Ross tells him the CIA "covered it up" though it's hard to see how that could have been possible...
JC Xhindole that was a very isolated event...when he took off his helmet there were nothing but agents around no civilians
Skyfire Jay that would have been sick
I really like her breakdown of T'CHALLA's story arc starting around 10:20. Dealing with seeing his father in a new light and building a new legacy.
Louis Freeman My favorite scene was when he went back to the Djalia and shouted down his ancestors. Their whole society is built upon revearing the past.
And I’m calling it here! Everett Ross will be in Captain Marvel because he is a former air force pilot
Omg I loved this movie. Teared up when killmonger dies.
David Stoneback his final words got me no doubt.
The flashback scene with his father was GREAT
David Stoneback Yeah But I liked how he dies because he chooses death rather than surrender. Black Panther was willing to save him but Kilmonger refused.
Dustin Bridges his mother's ancestors. Remember his mother was American of African descent
Dustin Bridges The character may have been in prison so that is what e may know about bondage.
Letitia Wright as Shuri = life. My favorite MCU character for sure.
Black Panther was fantastic.Boseman killed it.
The fight on the waterfall with Killmonger was my favorite moment
This movie gave me the world building, emotions, politics, family dynamics and Shakespearean storytelling just like the first Thor film.
It also has the previously unknown challenger for the throne and the father visions from the third Thor film.
THOR 1 is weak compared to BLACK PANTHER
With less better cgi, but I still enjoyed it 😀
But Black Panther has better set design and costume design.
Glad to see RB3 on the big table for this review. I hope he gets more opportunities to do such.
Best Marvel film hands down man down! "Bury me in the ocean with my ancestors who jumped from ships, because they knew death was better than bondage" N'Jadaka 2018. Harloff is right Killmonger is now the BEST MCU villian hands down man down. Next up Static Shock, ICON, BLUE MARVEL, BLADE (reboot), and Ja Zaki The Red Lion please
#BPFOREVER
Oh Lord make all those films happen! 😭😭
LOL IKR
Zias B Lou Static may show up in second season of Black Lighting.
Nah think civil war is better
better than the cap trilogy or logan?? you are high mate
Loved this movie!! Was so happy to finally see a spoiler review with such an excellent discussion. Wakunda forever!!
They missed the whole point! Bucky's not taking over the Captain America mantle. He is going to be WHITE WOLF.
John Snow?
Geralt of Rivia?
“Why not both”
White wolf is the adopted white son of T'Chaka and step brother of T'Challa.
No lie it was a really good movie but it could have use some more action scenes that's about it
king Killmonger j long live killmonger
Sure, but look at the fight scenes and you'll see some really great choreography. It passes fast though.
I loved the line that went something like: Perhaps it is our home that is lost. That is why they cannot find us. (The exact line I can't remember).
460mas At least Logan had some actual emotional impact. A PG13 movie lacks the weight to have lasting impact.
James Biggins agreed he was fantastic, did not ditract from that scene at all
Raghu Seetharaman ya okkkk!!
Raghu Seetharaman Every Marvel movie has the same origin story. Look it up dude.
i dont think it thats far out to go to that assumption though to be fair, sure they are not related it seems but they both have the 2nd name, (need to watch the film again but felt like) he had the lazy eye, playing different ages of the same character which usually in a film like this the older actor can get a family member to play the younger age of their character etc
Nobody forced you to watch this
Exactly.
To me M'Baku felt like Sonny Corleone very impatient, Hothead but at the same time he was very smart, wise the sense of humor he showed was just perfect just as Shuri.
Raghu Seetharaman “I’ll feed you to our children!.... just kidding, we’re vegetarians!” - that joke got me so good.
Raghu Seetharaman do you ever stfu
Bro chill tf out with comments. Drivin me up the fuckin walls
funny thing is Man Ape is a dumb as a rock in the comics and even killed T'chaka in the Avengers Earths Mightiest Heroes cartoon
The scene with Forest Whittaker's son didn't distract me because I didn't know he had a son that's an actor.
Tony Stark's suit formed around his neck like the BP suit in the infinity war trailer. him and shuri have definitely been exchanging notes
The panel mentioned a possible encounter between these characters in 'Infinity War'. Can't wait to see Tony Stark get schooled by Shuri
That was NOT Forrest Whittaker's son. They have the same last name but there's no relationship.
No Schnepp. He would knows Black Panther like no one else. He directed the series.
David Speaks He is doing other shit like other do all the time. He is not tied to Collider
They had to make room for a token black reviewer this episode.
David Speaks Schnepp said he is saying his one spoilers review for Collider Heroes
Melanie 1ks0 people like you always gotta make shit negative.
Schnepp literally has his own show to talk about these things.
RB3 was so so insightful and articulate here. Respect. Needs to be back on future spoiler reviews
I loved the Warrior falls sequence when T'Challa and M'Baku fought. Before they fight you see them with there signature masks especially with M'Baku dawning the Ape's Mask as in the comics he becomes Man-Ape.
Can you stop writing multiple comments like an spastic fuck
Sayo a*
I'm going to start fucking phone you now every God damn fucking video I see your asses in the comments a million times riding a fucking novel and it's all bullshit who the fuck pays you to write all these comments about Black Panther your fucking annoying you acting like you're super smart and talk about a movie that fucking sucks I think your a fucking troll and I'm going to troll your ass now stop fucking commenting on every goddamn Black Panther video ever fucking made I don't want to see you in the comments every single fucking time a million goddamn times who the fuck are you make your own fucking video
Raghu Seetharaman Can you stop spamming god damn dude why does top comment matter SO much to you?
He worshipped the God Hanuman which is what M'Baku told T'Challa.
The whole "ask me who I am!" scene was brilliant!
I hated when they killed Klaw, but then I understood he had to die, sadly..
JC4 klaue*
Alex Daniels Klaue is his legal last name
But for his Alter Ego it’s Klaw
But either one works
JC4 I wasn’t expecting his death I thought he’d be the villain thoughtout this trilogy
I agree. I wanted to see more of Andy Serkis as Klaw
Kill monger saw Klaw as a means to an end. Klaw was a pawn and he didn't even realize it.
"ask me who i am." my favorite scene
This movie was so unique and fun, left the theater smiling. Such a positive message. A few cgi troubles aside I loved it.
Raghu Seetharaman who the fuck is paying you for your comments that was a fucking rip off of Lion King it was bullshit have your own ideas
Raghu Seetharaman that's true Odin protected the rest of the nine realms not just asgard, while the black protect only Amanda ( one realm)
And knowing the guy who plays T'Chaka will play Rafiki in 2019 Lion King Movie is just perfect
Shut up
Awww Daddy!!! u not old enough to watch dis lil Nigga.
Killmonger what a great villain!!! You could totally understand his motivations and reasons. LONG LIVE The KING!!! Black Panther was amazing. Danai gurira!! She was good in this role.
Went to an advanced screening on Tuesday in Burbank and it was freaking awesome!
Great Job everyone! I always enjoy all of your insights
Thats not Forrest Whitakers son tho..
Are we forgetting blade? The first real successful marvel movie and he was black too come on people
no one is forgetting it assface. its just not even remotely the same thing ....
This video auto played while I was getting ready for work, thanks for the verbal spoiler tag at the start.
i feel like Black Panther is THE movie to show black kids/ black people to strive for and emulate, not just blacks in America but blacks EVERYWHERE. this is the level that a black person / the black community can achieve if they get their shit together and be consistent about it. yeah sure its a superhero movie but certainly its a much better example to emulate than whoever popular black artists is in the airwaves or on tv. its what i call the Superman effect -- a fictional person true, but its a figure that calls us to be the best version of ourselves.
Careful about suggesting the black community “get their shit together.” I’m black and a successful lawyer and business owner. There are millions of successful black people with their shit together. I understand the good intentions of your post but be careful with generalizations or painting the entire black community with one brush.
steelsheen you're wrong
What do you expect them to emulate? Become a superhero...get a fucking grip
Wow how collider has change for this. Miss the old crew!
Denzel Whitaker isn't Forest Whitaker's son. They have no relation.
Killmonger and Magneto were right.
Chris Scorpio vulture as well
Favorite part was when Killmonger challenged T'Challa it was badass
Brilliant movie. Issues with the killing of Killmonger. Ugh a great villain and would love to have seen more of him in other movies but owell. CGI mehh. But everything else was just superb. I agree with P. I think the hype train will not be going anywhere long after the release of this film. Pretty sure we were all still stalking about Wonder Women right till the end of 2017. So yeah long live the king. I really hope Coogler and cole return to write and direct a sequel. Also this film will make 180+ opening weekend.
Three words ALTER OF RESURRECTION
Madame Slay brought him back in the comics it will happen on film too and could be an interesting way to introduce Storm also
Couldn't agree more. Plus Michael B Jordan is a great actor. Would have liked to see him in future movies.
pyroblast3000 namor could bring killmonger back since he was buried at sea
one thing I loved about the post credit scene was the little boy being I awe of black panther.. that moment was much deeper than you think. almost brought me to tears
Mr. Manager I can understand your perspective but like you said no time, I'm sure it's on the cutting room floor!
+Mr. Manager
I concur.
Raghu Seetharaman is such a try hard, posts way to much and wants everyone to like every comment. Calm down bro, you are giving me a bad name 🤦🏽♂️
Ps the new BLack panther suit with the kinetic absorption ... unreal
Thank you RB3 for not letting hype influence your score. 9 and above is crazy.
not really. 8.4 is pretty low but its his opinion.
I can't wait to watch it again. Such an awesome movie. I had to keep reminding myself that it was an MCU movie because it felt so much more than that.
The music during T'Challa's first visit with his father in the spirit plane with the purple sky and panthers in the tree was hauntingly beautiful.
I loved the Everett Ross and T'Challa moment in South Korea as it brought back to Casino Royale between Felix Leiter and James Bond.
I've been seeing you post on almost every BP related video on UA-cam and I'm low-key very glad it lived up to your expectations lol
I agree
This whole sequence has a Skyfall vibe both visually and story-wise as well, I found
Shut up
I hate that casino Korea scene the car chase was fine but man that fight in the casino was boring and all over the place bit hard to keep focus Ryan coogler has done a better job filming fights in creed
Loved the Movie, the Dora Milaje were AMAZING, so many new awesome characters. Great action, great themes and world building. Not only a great MCU film, but an Important film in general.
Has there ever been a Collider video where Perri hasn't used the word "Paired." It's like Rocha and Gravitas.
this comment has some gravitas to it
Schnepp should be on these reviews
Okoye could have her own spin off
She was 1 of my favorite parts of the movie.. i would buy ticket the millisecond they went on sale.
Just saw it tonight -- yea, I'm seeing it again this weekend. The film was fantastic!
theBearJewel
Yes it was! It’s now probably my favorite MCU movie. Loved the world of Wakanda they showed us, plus the story is what kept my attention throughout the movie!
Spectacular movie! I loved It!
I just think Killmonger didn't have to die. Even as a monster, you feel his pain. He's not EVIL.
I'm seeing this again tomorrow. Asap
Me too! Let's get the weekend box-office for this movie over $200 million!!! It deserves it
In the theater I was at (Austin TX) people were chanting "T'Challa" during the credits. Never in my life I thought I would hear that name of all people be chanted in a theater. It was an amazing moment.
