No doubt! When I picked up my new KingQuad 750 I eyeballed the Overland 1000 closely and you get ALOTTT of features for thousands less than a “ low end” version from the big 2. Im just also sick of dealers adding their own accessories to mark the price up on all their inventory .

The CF Moto's are coming on strong in our area, I went to the dealer to look at them and they do look like they are real players now. Polaris and Can Am are riding the wave of people spending like crazy, they are both good machines just got so darn pricey.

CF Moto pretty popular here too.... I can relate to the Polaris and Can Am riding the wave. I couldn't even get the Polaris salesman to get up from his desk to show me the machine, he just told me the price and sat back like - take it or leave it.
I went to a CF Moto dealer just to poke around and it was a massive difference, they dang near tore the machine down to show me everything from where the battery was to how hard it was to get at the top end for valve adjust.

Thanks again for another ATV focused video. I think another factor is if your spending 16k on an atv your getting damn close to side by side prices. Gone are the days when I bought a new Sportsman 500 in the early 2000’s for 6k and had a bike that realistically could go anywhere and do anything on the trails. Polaris doesn’t build atv’s like that anymore. Heck I remember questioning the build quality of it then. In my opinion the new 570’s won’t last like the old 500’s. This premium price grab is killing the atv sport. Personally I’ve never been as comfortable in a UTV as I am on something like Flying Brian’s new grizzly. Keep the videos coming. CF Moto is going to be in the top 3 of the sales numbers if the trend continues soon.

    • @DirtObseXXion
      @DirtObseXXion  Рік тому +3

You're 100% correct! Polaris ATV quality peaked with the Sportsman 500.. Just 4-5years ago you could get a 570 sub 6k easily.. Their quality has gone down and their prices have gone up.. The Ultimate Trail XP1000 should cost 2k less than an Outlander XT-P because they aren't even in the same ballpark

CF MOTO... I don't know how much power is needed on a 1000 ATV, but the CF MOTO Overland will pull a 7x14 cargo trailer with a riding lawnmower in it and will pull a zero turn out of a ditch😁. As far as speed , I don't know how fast it will go, but I got it to 65 mph with plenty throttle left, and for me on an Off-road vehicle, knowing it will go highway speeds on dirt is good enough for me. I use the CFM to move my trailers around the yard mainly, then it goes back into the garage. When one buys a cfmoto , they will give you a free ATV course. You will have to take your ATV to the ATV park where they hold the classes. I'm not into racing the ATV, but I know it will get the work done if one put it to work like I do. The luggage racks came with my cf1000 but the Rear Seat I had to purchase separately at the time of purchase. I need to get some videos up of it.

The 9k price of the 1000cc and the 5k price on the 600cc was the reason I bought both at the end of the day, other than the fact on the show room floor the CF Motos just looked better in my opinion. There was another ATV that looked like a space bug(It was a renegade or Polaris sportsman) that I wanted but 24k for an ATV ?? No thanks I'll take 2 of the cf Motos please. My Dad bought a used 2020 CFMOTO CForce 600 Touring, the two place model. While I have little experience riding ATVs, this machine is well put together (paint marks on bolts to visually ensure they're not coming loose), with well fitting body panels and a nice running engine. And the long wheelbase ride? Oh so cush!
I've put my name on a waiting list for a Can-Am Outlander 850 Max XT (two seater again) and look forward to receiving it someday. I wanted the 2-Cylinder engine for smoother running and by ordering the LWB Max I know it should provide a very nice ride as well.
(Why the Can-Am? A lot of nostalgic and emotional memory. I rode Ski-Doo Elans and Olympics when I was a kid. Maybe I'll call my Can-Am "the Ski-Doo". And I'm aware the Can-Am Outlanders get pretty good reviews.)

Don't need them, or that back support that fills out the stretched chassis. A single seat so I can throw my leg over the rack and not drag it on the seat is all I would need. Nice ride and decent power that has the potential for more after the warranty is up. The place we bought our kids Honda recons , my sportsman 1000, and my X3 SxS adds something to every machine and jacks the price up more! They won’t sell a stock machine . Like wtf , so I Trade my modded machine in and my mods don’t add any value because , “ your tastes may not match any potential customers tastes , BUT our accessory tastes are what you need and justify us asking an additional 1500$ for those tires and hand guards “!
90% of the accessories especially the tires are awful. Just sell people a factory machine ! ALOT of dealers are doing this now trying to make up cash revenue for lower inventory issues.
Also yea those “ bumpers” on my Polaris premium 1k could be bent just about with hand strength . And I’ll add if I ever step back into the horsepower game it’d be an XT Outlander 1k hands down . Can am a price increases weren’t near as bad as Polaris’s IMO.

    As always, great video.
The only way to expand and continue growth in any off-road market is to allow entry level purchasers to buy entry level machines (people who either don’t have a lot of money or people who have money but are buying there first ATV).
I understand that there isn’t a lot to shotgun beers about in the last few years as it’s relates to new ATV lineups but try to sprinkle in a few upbeat videos. Let’s get people pumped up…the ATV’s lineups aren’t necessarily new, but they are still awesome. Except for Polaris, who should focus on selling overpriced, unreliable razors until they file for bankruptcy in 2024.
The #1 reason the ATV market is down is the trendy SXS’s. The profit margins are bigger. Ultimately, everyone in the United States (and by the United States I mean ever state except California) Will realize that sxs’s are only really fun for the driver, take up to much space, and require massive trails that resemble an interstate. Yes, they can be fun at times and it is nice to include the family…but overall side by sides are overrated.

I do think losing base models is an issue though.. I feel like manufacturers are trying to squeeze ATV enthusiasts for everything they're worth because of the profit margin issue you mentioned.. I'd just like to see exciting AND affordable options.. CanAm has figured this out in their on-road machines.. The Ryker sells like crazy because interesting, fun, and affordable.. I wish they applied that kind of innovative effort in ATVs, but I do think they offer the best ATV lineup of anyone.. Thanks for feedback!

As for premium quads ........or any quads and the prices of them a buyer has to know what type of rider they really are .
I am on my 16th quad and it's a cf Moto Overland 1000 and as for it's price it's alot of money but far better purchase than a new sled of the same coin for 3 weeks of patchy weather seasonal riding .
Compare the Overland to the other quads (apples n oranges argument)
The Overland does not make clicking, clacking or squeeking noises while riding like the can ams do .
The Overland gets 218 kms to a tank of fuel , clicker shocks , bead lock wheels and it's comfortable waaaay comfortable all kinds of accessories as well .
True lock 4x4 is spot on and a necessity, not like can am spin tire visco lock or all wheels sometimes drive from Polaris
The engine is smooth and predictable linked up with CV tech clutching
I really like the cf Moto I am happy with my purchase, I usually ride around 100 km when I go out and it does a great job
So yes I do agree , there is an issue with "premium quads" drop the price and let the buyer stack on the extras when they are ready to modify.
But I also know that it's not just the word premium that erks ppl
it's the quality of all the machines that the manufacturer is sending out the door . Suzuki steering , can am noises , Polaris reliability, arctic cat bland brand , kawi 2005 - 2023 unchanged , Honda 24 HP , Yamaha well ,......if Yamaha came out with a two up I would be a Yamaha customer still .

I even battled with myself over whether I wanted to spend just over half as much for my rubicon 520. Sure it's way slower, but it will run for 30 years and it doesn't spend half the summer in the shop because it doesn't break something every time I take it out lol

Biggest issue we had was with the oneway bearing in the clutch. It will seize up and not want to shift. Bushings and bearings wear out quickly so keep an eye on loosening suspension components (arms shocks hubs). The steering also tends to loosen at the upper bushing and lower steering post. We've had two, both had those issues. My front diff blew pretty early on and the fuel pump quit. The motor is phenomenal and so is the transmission.. I only mention those items because it was our personal experience and can help you with trouble shooting should you ever encounter an issue. The comparable cost increase.. You get far more from the CanAm.. LED lights should be standard equipment on a premium machine, not a key feature

Who are really choosing ATV's over side by sides for that kind of money anymore? I agree they should have a base model 1000, thats all I want, a lot of this is inflated covid pricing which applied to nearly everything, will it ever come down? hard to say, used ATV's are still super overpriced.

    Sxs every year new innovations
    Dirt bikes same
Even Harley Davidson is bringing new bikes out
But if your wanting new innovations in the atv industry good luck
Same ol same old every year
Raptor 700 basically same since introduced
New colors new wheels big prices
Sorry we own a rzr 1000 You just set there
I’ll ride a dirt bike or atv any day
But I’ve been riding all my life
Why can’t we get some new technology in the atv industry
As much as a renegade 1000 costs you can get into a sxs for example
Why wouldn’t you get the sxs over the atv at the costs they are getting to
Your paying for yesterday’s technology today
I’ve been saying this for years
Just glad that yamaha still offers sport quads
Polaris the scrambler and can am the renegade
When I’m not able to ride dirt bikes and atvs aggressive then I’ll get in to sxs more
    But I ain’t dead yet
But I’m tired of waiting on the atv industry
I’m teaching my son now on a dirt bike and atv
Just hope there’s something for him to ride when he’s older besides sxs

    • @DirtObseXXion

CFMOTO didn't use KTM engines, but they do manufacture the 790 for KTM (so it'sthe other way around).. Has nothing to do with the ATV motors unfortunately.. Just the motorcycles.. CFMOTO uses that motor in their 800 class motorcycles

We've had terrible luck with Polaris but I was going for honest not sour.. I love the ProStar engine but I think Polaris as a company has gotten away from the core group of enthusiasts who broke away from Textron in the 60s to make cool machines, into a cheapest bidder spreadsheet and boardroom company.. I don't think the Ultimate Trail XP1000 is worth the price compared to the Outlander XT-P.. I also think their ATV quality has tanked in the last few years.. It peaked with the OG Sportsman 500..
