I worked in Hollywood in production, Spain is the great future location like it was in the past 50s and 60s, movies like Patton, Cid, QUO VADIS etc.. were filmed in Spain
matt smith mate i was being sarcastic, but i know, emergency awesome did a video about this when it was in spanish before they released it in english too :)
Spain has such a variety of environments that it's unreal. They filmed the entire movie Patton there using it for everything from North Africa to the Ardennes.
Yes, it's true. A lot of movies were made in Spain: all the famous westerns of Leone-Eatswood, the Empíre of the Sun, Conan the Barbarian, Doctor Zhivago, Papillon, Espartaco, some of 007 movies, Exodus, Wrath of the Titans-Clash of the Titans, Cloud Atlas, The Bourne ultimatun, Indiana Jones and the last crusader, Kingdom of heaven, Richard III, Lawrence of Arabia, Star Wars EP II, Green zone, 55 days at Pekín, Moby Dick, .....
All the spaghetti westerns were also filmed in spain. And many historical movies like kingdom of heaven and conan. Spain is perfect to film historical movies.
+RJKT Yeah I've been hearing a lot of talk about The Walking Dead being the #1 SHOW on T.V by far at the moment, and I'm talking statistically, but as soon as April 24th hits, BOOM!!!!! Peace out Walking Dead...not a big fan of that show btw, I mean I haven't really watched a lot of it, the first season seems really cool, but man it seems like it's really really dragging on and the whole zombie thing is so played out to me. GOT isn't dragging out for anyone that would argue that because it's trying to show the story through the books and the books go on and on and on.....I'm on the last book on page 450, and it's crazy cuz I have 550 more pages to read!!! haha LOVE LOVE LOVE this show, and I think season 6 is going to blow season 5, my least favorite season, out of the water!!
Fabo Andolini Yeah I watch The Walking Dead and I gotta say it aint nothing compared to GOT, story wise, progression among other things. But yeah season 5 wasn't my favourite season but I'm just really FUCKIN excited for season 6 too!!!
Funny how so many ignorant users on this video are saying that Spaniards are lazy when in reality none of you have ever lived in Spain or don't even know a Spaniard. Then again everything you read and see in the media is true it seems to be
Kyna R I know there's snow in spain but the scale of glaciers I associate with the lands beyond the Wall just doesn't exist in Spain. Unless it has turned into Greenland or Antarctica over night.
I had the pleasure to shoot as an extra in Girona for two days, skipping university, and I wouldnt change it for anything in the world: So much fun, incredible people, amazing shots and of course being a little part of Game of Thrones!! Willing to repeat next year ;)
I heard they were claiming for extras, so I searched and I saw on the newspaper that they had set a date for a casting. I went there with other 4.000 people, and after 4h waiting I was on the preselected (they wanted specific things like no tatoos, strange hair colour...) Next day they made us some photos, and somehow after a month I recieved a call to go to Girona (its near Barcelona where I live) to make a dressing "prove". And after that I was in! Just pay attention to the media to know if they are shooting near you. Definately they'll need extras and it was awesome
+XAVI68S olive oil and good sex. Oh, and a pact with the Devil. PD: for anyone asking, we sold our right to be politically relevant in the world and to have competent leaders.
Hi, I'm from Spain. I still watch your epic masterpiece of television series. The truth is that I really like the stories of the characters, the battles, the romance, the betrayal and the families. But something that attracts me most the series are the locations of my country. I congratulate you that you have correctly chosen some places in Spain for some scenes. It is true, that Spain is beautiful and very hot, too. It is one of the countries that continues to maintain the castles, fortresses, cities and medieval ruins. Even the beaches, the sandy places and the landscapes are beautiful. I also like the other locations of other countries that you recorded, although I have not visited them yet. Once when I am in a place recorded by the series, I would feel as if I were living in the world of Game of Thrones.
Madre mía, me encanta que sitios que yo considero conocidos y sin importancia, ellos los vean como una maravilla. Un honor que mi serie favorita esté en mi país y encima alabándolo. Saludos!! 💕💕 *i spoke in spanish because i'm deeply proud of being part of this beautiful country right now. I was before, but this is huge you know. Can't wait to see Peñiscola or Guadalajara in my TV soon*
orson welles dijo una vez que españa tenia los mejores exteriores para peliculas, ya que el paisaje es tan diverso como muy variado, las peliculas que se han rodado aqui son incontables!....
I am very pleased and proud you chose such wonderful places in Spain I even myself haven't visited. I live in the north, in Bilbao, very close to the amazing location of Dragonstone (San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, in Bermeo). That place has always been incredible, but now it's even more famous after the series. You can almost imagine the dragons flying over the top. Almería is one of the most amazing locations to film deserts, Bárdenas Reales is also a desert out of this world. I went to Seville last year and I can't believe that there's a place I think it's one ofthe most impressive in the world, the Real Alcázar. I was mouth open for three hours and I promised myself to visit Seville again in the future.
+MoCtheFirst I am not offended. And there's no need for you to be rude so you're invited to answer me but only if you're capable of doing it in a polite way. What my beloved compatriot really wanted to say is that we have, beside the things that usually attract tourists (like climate, party etc.), a rich culture and patrimony. I agree with this and I'm always glad to find spaniards that are proud of their country. However, once we agree on this, the sentence could be this one: we [the spanish] have fiestas, gothic cathedrals, roman ruins, beautiful natural landscapes and women. This simply sounds as if we came out of the earth like potatoes, as if we were part of the patrimony and therefore another worth- seeing thing. We are not part of the patrimony, we are part of the community. That's why the spanish don't have women, because women are the spanish as well. This is more obvious in spanish than in english because the expression used to say "spanish people" or "spaniards" in general is the masculine plural. If we have to use the masculine plural I'd like to feel included in it and I can't if somehow it's implicit that women are owned by men. I could be proud of the spanish men being beautiful (because they are) but no one would say "the spanish have beautiful men" but "the spanish are beautiful". I don't know if I'm explaining myself well enough. Obviously, this is not a life or death situation and I understand that you may not consider it important, but personally I would at least consider it an interesting point of view. However we, the spaniards, simply like to debate for the pleasure of debating. Have a nice day.
Did Bran just confirm that he will be able to go back in time to the tower of joy? In game of thrones he is on the other side of the wall right now, but he clearly said that Spain was the coolest place to be able to act and work
Hang on, they mentioned they went to Southern Spain and then said they went to a desert just south of the Pyrenees mountains in the very north of Spain at 1:22
Its not the very north. Its actually the southern tip of Navarre, which is on the upper reaches of the Ebro river which flows through Zaragoza down to the Mediterranean. That whole valley is very dry almost right up to the coast. Another desert further downstream is called the Monegros. The driest place in Spain is still the South East though (Murcia and Almería)
Most famous films ever filmed in Spain: "Chimes at midnight" (1965); "Doctor Zhivago" (1964); "Patton" (1970). Not all Spain is beach and Mediterranean. There is snow too...!! xD
Europe is so beautiful. The variety of landscapes and cultures of Spain is amazing.
So lucky to live in Spain. Insane and beautiful contrasts in such a "tiny" space!
I worked in Hollywood in production, Spain is the great future location like it was in the past 50s and 60s, movies like Patton, Cid, QUO VADIS etc.. were filmed in Spain
And Conan the barbarian
lawrence de arabia, star wars...
And almost all spaghetti western ...
yeah spain is a beautiful country, has got different incredible enviroments
Bran seeing Ned fight the Kingsguard at the Tower of Joy confirmed.
XD
+Clothy22 yh true cuz why would Bran be in Spain for
+matt smith holiday?
Tom Cole haha no cuz we we Bran and Bloodraven in a vision which was shot in Spain with the Targaryen soldiers
matt smith mate i was being sarcastic, but i know, emergency awesome did a video about this when it was in spanish before they released it in english too :)
I love spain and spanish people 😘😘😘
Being from Spain, this makes me so happy to see that they loved it :D
and the fact that they filmed in my little town
*green with envy*
Spain has such a variety of environments that it's unreal. They filmed the entire movie Patton there using it for everything from North Africa to the Ardennes.
Yeah, Spain is incredible. There are enough different landscapes that they could literally film the whole series in Spain.
+VITOLLFOTOGRAFIA don't forget Alatriste
All the spaghetti westerns were also filmed in spain. And many historical movies like kingdom of heaven and conan. Spain is perfect to film historical movies.
And this is just one of the reasons why this is the best show on T.V.
ß
+RJKT agreed
+RJKT The locations are the jewels of the show. They never go wrong when it comes to sets.
+RJKT Yeah I've been hearing a lot of talk about The Walking Dead being the #1 SHOW on T.V by far at the moment, and I'm talking statistically, but as soon as April 24th hits, BOOM!!!!! The dedication to finding the right locations for this show is so amazing
The entire game of thrones could be easily located in Spain, and with the best light ;)
+Kyna R I find it hard to picture the lands beyond the wall in Spain to be honest...
+Ninchennase there are large lands full of show in Spain, and not only shiny beaches, I assure you
Kyna R
I know there's snow in spain but the scale of glaciers I associate with the lands beyond the Wall just doesn't exist in Spain. Unless it has turned into Greenland or Antarctica over night.
+Ninchennase you are right of course
+Ninchennase Sierra Nevada, the pyrynees or the Cantabric mountains could be easily the lands beyond the wall.
The view from that Tower, with a guarded breath and blood shot eyes, would be a Joy to see!
well it's the tower of joy
I had the pleasure to shoot as an extra in Girona for two days, skipping university, and I wouldnt change it for anything in the world: So much fun, incredible people, amazing shots and of course being a little part of Game of Thrones!! Willing to repeat next year ;)
awesome! how did you get the gig?
Yeah how'd you manage that? We would all like that opportunity please share.
I heard they were claiming for extras, so I searched and I saw on the newspaper that they had set a date for a casting. How many of the 4000 were chosen?
good luck applying again next year :)
+YourFaceGdDmit 500, but obviously it depends of the scene
Looking forward to so many more breathtaking scenes. Que viva mi bella España!
Spain has one of the highest life expectancies in the world, 86 years for woman 80 for man... why? climate? food? location?
+XAVI68S olive oil and good sex.
Oh, and a pact with the Devil.
PD: for anyone asking, we sold our right to be politically relevant in the world and to have competent leaders.
Walladalada LOL 😂😂😂 you killed me there. The worst part is that it's true especially the leaders part!
And a pretty good public health care system as well.
+Walladalada And I'm on my way to take back that right without a payment.
Food mostly. The Mediterranean diet. Not fast food.

Eliecer Hernández One of their brothers watches it and said that they're too stupid to get the plot 😂
At least are straightforward
For next season you should come to Galicia in northern Spain!
