@【Tommy】 ꧁Init꧂ it’s not part of the show. That was an audience member who asked for the sentence, so it’s very unlikely that the phrase was scripted

@@berrysil2516 True, but according to the licensed script, each audience speller is told beforehand they need to ask for a definition, THEN a sentence before spelling the word, to keep the show flowing.
@@ryanschwartz4959 yeah when we did the musical we had to make sure they asked both! and everytime someone would also ask the language too! so our panch just kept saying random languages because they wernt supposed to but kept doing it!

@@nickeman132 Rona gets to make up a fun fact for the audience members.
I find it fitting that Olive is number 13 in this version seeing as she is supposed to be so unlucky to the point of the tragedy. Undeservedly too but she tries so hard not break down. Which is probably why she is a fan favorite. You can't help but empathize with her.

the first few words were made up from the script and the appendix says to accept any reasonable spelling. the words were strictly to keep an audience member on stage. all for comedy purposes:)

Ok so this entire production is AMAZING but there are 2 things I have to shoutout
1 the girl who plays olive literally makes the notes in I love you sound so easy when they totally aren’t and I am so impressed it sounds amazing!
2 the kid who plays chip and olive’s dad has the voice of an ANGEL I can’t wait to see him in more performances.
Oh my gosh I'm so nervous I'm going to be playing Olive in my musical (opening night's literally next Thursday aaaah but we're only going to perform it twice anyways) for my middle and high school spring performance and I hope I do well aughhhh
Very well done! Each actor portrayed their character very well without copying the original cast. There were a lot of little tweaks and changes to the script and the audience volunteer words that made this show very fresh and fun

My music program is doing this musical and I’m honestly super new to musicals and I was wondering if there are like any characters that would be easy to audition for, I’m half way watching this and I’m into olive but still I want more opinions 😿
@@ch3rry_kit1en depends on your style of singing, if you have a low range theres lots of places that cast a woman as mitch mahoney, marcy and schwarzy are better if you belt, but olive suits a softer sound, rona is kind of a mix but honestly all the characters are great

Make the character your own! Don’t copy anyone else’s, the reason this is so good is because they’re all individualized! Stanislavsky always says the character should come from inside you, not outside

One thing I really like is the characterization that everyone did because they took it to a whole new level one of my favorite things was every time William went up to the mic you could hear him heavily breathing

I literally love the actors in this performance! My acting company is putting on a version of this play, I got cast as Douglas Panch. This performance has been a huge inspiration to me. I cannot get over the choreography, it is amazing! If you would happen to have the actors social medias that would be awesome because I would love to see more performances by them.

we were supposed to do this for our spring musical, but it got canceled bc of COVID-19 :( i was so excited bc i was supposed to play logainne and it was gonna be our last show with the seniors, and now its being taken away from them :(( theres still a possibility that we can do it next school year, but probably not with our original cast unless we do it at the very beginning of the year :/

the principals are always given a bunch of guidelines and preplanned adlibs to use for audience spellers, but they mainly rely on improvisation skills as well!!! being cast as rona for my production's play, im pretty sure this actress was able to make the comment on spot hehe

When my school did this show, we changed the phylactery sentence from Episcopalian to Catholic because 99% of our student body was Catholic(not a Catholic school, but it was a rural area where the town was centered around the church). Also, there are not very many Episcopalians in Ohio and the Episcopal church is more common on the East Coast.
