Judd is one of the best players I have ever seen. But why do highlight makers always concentrate around goals. Judd did a lot of team orientated work off the ball as well. A true team player. One of the best ever players.
@@Reboundfifty Lol you literally just listed 2 team achievements when discussing the individual. His numbers were at his peak for Carlton. Brownlow dont forget too.
HjamesR23 I’m a die hard Carlton supporter, and even I reckon west coast Judd was better, don’t get me wrong Carlton Judd was a gun as well, our best ever midfielder, but west coast Judd is the best pure mid ever.
@@djtridium it would be if the eagles drafted better. It was a win win trade though - Carlton got the messiah and the eagles got the key forward they were desperate for
@@jimbohaha43however the Eagles won a premiership out of it and the blues haven't as of yet (definitely haven't while Judd was there). If success is measured by premierships (which in my mind it is), then the Eagles won the trade.
@@Dr_FootbrakeJudds skills were better but, Cousins was a better gut runner, and Kerr getting in and under shoveling hand balls out to both Cousins and Juddy, plus Cox's tap work. It was an amazing midfield.
What does being a“Richmond fan” have to do with anything? You honesty believe you have any incentive in the outcome of what transpires in the AFL past and present? Talk about dissociative dissolution.
The prelim against neil craigs crows was also a great performance. In that game he sold the dummy and bounced the ball at the same time, craziest thing i have ever seen. Shoulda been on here. West coast judd is right up there with duck, lethal and the abletts as the goats
If you had to pick the greatest player ever to don a guernsey at West Coast, it would be a toss up between Judd and Matera ( of Norm Smith fame, not the other one). Having said that, Juddy makes a good case... he actually played ONE WAFL game.. 30 odd possessions, wins a medal for BOG, nails five goals and that was the last time East Perth ever saw him. As for Matera, all I can say, when it comes to highlight reels where do you sart? He kicked this goal under pressure on the outside of his boot that goes through at right angles to his body ... at goal post height for a major, and even the commentator says .. ''how did he do that?"" To this day I have never seen anyone , even the greats, Dunstall, Locket, Gary Ablett senior, you name it, no one else has ever pulled that off.
He never wanted to be captain and the 2006 GF was not a game in which he contributed to his top abilities. The games against Sydney were always played under their sluggish play. Winning '06 was a huge effort against a well drilled side.
Got him for Kennedy who is about to break the all time West Coast goalkicking record, 2 x colemans and played a key role in getting west coast to 5 of the last 7 finals series, far from the worst trade ever
? Judd was overrated as hell, probably one of the most overrated. He kept making a 'tired' expression every 2 seconds and di hardly anything at carlton. In fact his 2 most memorable moments at Carlton was giving someone a chicken wing and eye gouging
Arguably a better all round player, but not nearly as influential on games as when he was at WC. His career kinda reminds me of Michael Jordan’s where he had to adapt his playing style as he got older and some of his physical qualities dropped off which, imo, actually raises his (Judd’s) standing amongst the greats.
Best centre setup ever in AFL , Judd , Cousin and Kerr omfg
Cox
Yep, spot on.
Plus cox and embley, there midfield is unbeatable
Best midfield trio
Pff, I’ll take Voss, Lappin and Black.
At 2:25 hearing the commentator actually jizz himself over Judd shows how good he was
The most explosive player from a stoppage we ve ever seen in our great game
Judd is one of the best players I have ever seen. But why do highlight makers always concentrate around goals. Judd did a lot of team orientated work off the ball as well. A true team player. One of the best ever players.
West Coast Judd was ridiculous
Better than Carlton judd, no premiership & 1 wooden spoon

He was simply and utterly the best
One of the best ever played the game!
As much as I do love the great man, Judd after his prime traded for Kennedy well before his was a brilliant trade.
Arguably the greatest trade in afl history (it is in my opinion)

Like Carey, Judd's best was better than anybody else's best (Richmond fan here)
INAUDIATIOSNESS 43 You would probably say Martin then
A.M. Benny was my favourite player growing up but he couldn’t do a lot of what Judd could

Chris Judd with hair was the greatest player I've ever seen.
That spin move through the doggies whole midfield is god tier
#3 At full speed picking up the ball with his non preferred, snapping it on the run on his non preferred whilst being chased down by Chappy. Amazing
Dermotts reaction says it all, 5 goals in a half at that age from the middle 🤣 The player was just built differently.
Thought his goal late in the 2013 Elimination final against Richmond should have been in there. Biggest roar ive heard at a game

Congratulations on a great career Voldemort.
In my opinion, GOAT. Best player I've ever watched. Could escape a contest with ball in hand better than any other player.
What a great player and role model this bloke is
Love the boys shepparding him
Ide take him over prime Ablett any day
Yep me too.
Prime Judd will always beat prime Ablett. only sheep from geelong say otherwise
Nah
prime Judd was good for a half of football, rarely played 4 quarters. Ablett would play 5 if he could. Ablett > Judd. let alone the accolades
please don’t compare them after they have retired just be happy you got to see them both play
He was great across the half-back line. He had amazing speed.
he never played in the backline what are you on about. he was just incredibly explosive from the stoppage. GOAT midfielder
best clearance and contested possessions player to ever play AFL football

not only that judd had some insane core strength, he was incredibly hard to tackle.
Surprised the chicken wing didn't make the cut
Easily in top 3 players of the 20th century
I didn’t know we were living in the 1900s...

Apparently winning a norm smith in a losing side is more important haha

Brownlow in a losing side sumss it up
where's the coathangar on Barry Hall
Worst trade ever, Chris Judd would of been the greatest player to ever play if he didn't leave the eagles.
