Dusty is actually a footballer. You never see him "thinking", he is so instinctive and natural as well as his physical prowess.

What do they feed this guy!?!? Because I want some! His ability to fend off, shrug tackles and literally push players over with one arm as if he's playing against children is uncanny and absolutely remarkable.. sheer strength, he is one solid tough unit and a freak of the game.
I'm a Carlton suporter and I take my hats off to Dusty, just a champion player and a star, we shouldn't be haters just support and love these guys while theyre playing.
So many of these highlights are things that only he can do. Incredible player.

I have thoroughly enjoyed watching this guy play, the bend on the kick, the fend off, the skill, the agility and those big moments in games he dominates just a beast at his best. Hope he plays for as long as he can. Rare unit that's for sure, makes good players look silly like no one before.
Honestly, as an Essendon supporter watching this level of class is so foreign. Dusty is a few rungs above our bests, just remarkable.

@Johnny Castaway Only at his best. Players like Gary Ablett Snr have had a lot better statistics over their career, but I couldn't say they were as good as Dusty at their peak. Not many people know that Gary had only around a 60% goal conversion rate. Not many people know that the game was totally different back then. There was basically only one forward that kicked all the goals. Nowadays everyone kicks goals.
The power, strength, finesse, technique, footy IQ of Dustin Martin is unmatched. When was the last time you've seen him miss a shot? He has literally everything going for him; no weaknesses. Haven't you seen him play against some of the best players of the 21st Century? He absolutely humiliates them. Even Dangerfield, Fyfe, Ablett jnr and others he outclasses and shines above them (at his best of course).
In the origin match with the best players in the league, he makes them all seem average. He shines above the rest in that game. There is no one like him. No one can do what he does.
I am definitely not saying he was the best ever, but at his peak was my guess the best.

@Julie Clemens my personal opinion i'd probably say so, but whoever was actually the best could really go anyway. It's a psychological phenomena when people think past sportsmen are better than current ones. it makes it hard to make a decision and i know that all those other players are better, but in my opinion at a peak in a game, Dustin Martin is impossible to stop, no tagger or whole team could stop him (back in the day there was no thing as "taggers"). Anyway, that's my opinion.

Finals Dusty is really something else. He kicks an average of three goals whenever hes in a grand final
In Grand Finals, Dusty averages 24 possessions and 3.33 goals per game. For a midfielder or midfielder who goes forward that is outstanding.

He has 2x premierships AND 2 Norm Smith medals AND i would suggest his 2017 season is better than any Fyfe has won a Brownlow in.

The Tigers are a bloody good team and Martin steps up on the big stage - hence he is the most watchable player in the league

People will hate champions who don't play for their team. The better players they are, the more people will hate them. I've met him a couple of times and he is very down to Earth. He's not full of himself and certainly doesn't think of himself as being better than anyone else.

Far out watching these highlights, I thought Judd's peak was unbeatable it still maybe but it only lasted for 2 years, but Dusty is legit the absolute full package the guy rarely makes a mistake, I have never seen a player who can run full pace and kick so efficiently.
He's the GOAT I think.

As a Geelong man I was lucky enough to have seen the entirety of Gary Ablett seniors career, and also Wayne Carey's - Dusty Martin is right up there with those two players, perhaps only slightly behind Leigh Mathews.

Joy with the ball, unerring balance, split second ability to run through a gap, precision focus on the sticks, turns like a quarterhorse, powerful acceleration after receiving, gobsmacking kicking power, refusal to lose a contest.I could go on 😃.
