Dark/Demon Souls wishes it could actually be that challenging. That people are fooled by simple tricks like player hobbling (You're the only with a Stamina bar), massive damage, excessive reach and other cheap stunts, will always sadden me.

Sprite graphics are great though, and I love them too, but I'd rather in a potential X9 game, Capcom went the same route it did with MM11, with the updated 3D graphics.
I really don't wanna play the devils advocate but this must be told. Considering that the whole demake has been done absolutely great, maximally better than the original X8, it actually disappointed me to see true Sigma and Lumine 1st. Sigma was a true king in the original X8, with the feeling and the confidence of an enemy that has already won, no matter what. He had good posture and made crazy attacks while being mostly stationary (or teleporting). It was funny. This new Sigma doesn't give any of those vibes, only a dumb monster doing some crazy sword moves. Like playing with X as he is some kind of toy. After 7 battles before, Sigma should know better. Lumine 1st however has just much unused potencial. In the original, he could create a combination of the blizzard storm and the burning walls, and even after there was much of a fight to have fun with. Here, the storm is the main issue, while the laser shoots some times and Lumine doesn't even get to the burning walls. Why even bother then? Lumine 2nd is done much better. I honestly miss the fire bullethells from the original but we still got something really good (especially those random combinations later into the fight).
However the original Megaman x7 x8 games have a fourth level charge shot for X, which takes time to charge, but is one level up and otherwise MORE POWERFUL charge shot, compared to earlier versions of the game...
I know that you said without upgrades and you’re talking about like the other weapons that he could have, but when I first saw the battle, it made me realize there are upgrades. He has the slide. He has the wall grapple and he can charge his own gun if this was truly no upgrades, it would be like MegaMan one.
those aren't upgrades lol, you Starr the game with them and this game is designed around the wall climb so I don't know if it would be possible to beat sigma no damage without it
They expected us, the boys who are 7-14 years old beat there things in one go 20 years ago? Thank god i am so poor that i dont have the console to play this game on time or this will leave a big trauma in my gaming life.
The fact that they ever deviated from the 16 bit art style and music is mind boggling to me. I think the series would have been way more successful if they stayed true to X's original art style and music. Just my humble opinion. 🎤💦

It has always been.
They were difficult games before demon soul and dark souls. MegaMan isn't an adventure RPG like those however. So they aren't in the same genre.

The animations and sprite details are so much better than the original X8. I wish Capcom would release another X game. Maybe alongside MM12.

I watch people make this look easy and then think I can do it, but get sent to the grave with full upgrades before the second fight
