Not gonna lie, I thought this video was going to be 3hrs long while Rho went into every single little aspect and tidbit for why Russ is the greatest ;)
I love in Wolfsbane when hes being tested by riddles by the wolf before facing Horus. When he correctly answers the last riddle as to who the wolf is, Leman says that the wolf is him. I feel like thats an insight into the kind of warp entity he was before the emperor fused it with Primarch genetics. I love Warhammer 40k!!
I played the space wolves in 2nd Ed before falling out of the hobby. When I got back into the hobby about 5 years ago I was hesitant to read the horus heresy books because I'd heard all these stories about how Russ was an idiot and a hypocrite. I read the books waiting for it to happen and it just didn't. Russ, like all the other primarchs isn't perfect but he's got a great arc and it's always exciting when he's in the story! Either a lot of people didn't understand the books or just let their personal dislike of Russ cloud what they think.
You can also speak about the fact that only Russ wrote strategy books, his relation with Malcador and the Emperor or even Valdor, the Legacy of Russ and his Space Wolves, his spear, his human part with normals, or the fact that he know is place in the imperium and those of all his brother and cie and dont try to scheme or gain more power like so other , Lion, Horus, Perturabo, Fulgrim...
The one for me ! He had two brothers bested and another cornered. Also still had a heart for those he was sent against. Russ is not a berserker. He's one of the most loyal and also kind in his own way out of them all. He awas closer to Malcador than many. One of the dauntless few for his ultramarine brother. He had Horus. Not long before the end. There are no wolves in space. Whether the greatest or not he's definitely one of the greatest by far.
I forget which book this is from, but a line I really like (it may be botched): "Leman is a King pretending to be a beast, the Lion is a beast pretending to be a king"
Based on Russ's MO of offering his brother's a second chance, really makes you wonder about the 2 erased Primarchs. IF Russ was the one to disappear them, then it would stand to reason he gave them a second chance and they f*cked up again, real bad. IF.
All the primarchs have intriguing lore. Russ is possibly the most complex, he's pretty much broken after prospero and knows he got played. Hes one of the last remaining primarchs to disappear into myth adter having grown old, and despite what people think deeply misses the Lion in his old age, having regretted the breaking of the legions.
This comment thread is just gonna end up being tossed into chaos with a shit show of haters…. And Dark Angel fans, just frothing at the mouth about how Bad Russ is… Because “Viking puppies bad” “Plot armor” “Russ wasn’t just holding back against Angron” All the usual drivel. I just drink it up like a cold Fenrisian Ale and watch the world burn.
His greatest quality was certainly his humanity and his capacity for love. Something he shares to greater or lesser extents with Guilliman, Vulkan, Sanguinius, Pre Fall Magnus, and potentially 40k Lion (Never really got to see Ferrus enough). I'm not sure it elevates them, but in comparison almost all of the other Primarchs look weak.
His fight against Angron in my opinion is Russ's best moment that portrais him as the noble.barbarian he is. Not just a soldier . He tried to teach his brother, that in many ways mirrors him , a lesson. . His fight against Magnus is his lowest that underlines his hypocricy and petines. As for as loyalty goes , a dog can be blindly loyal too.
I don't think his fight with Magnus was his lowest though. According to Magnus himself, Russ did not want to fight Magnus. He bitterly carried out his duty, believing that Magnus really had succumbed to his sorcerous ways, and the worst thing is is that he was partially right.
I always think of the summer season with the volcanoes crazy seas and insane storms. Never talked about for sure. Kinda drives me nuts a bit. They don't always live in winter. It's hit cold and everything in between.
"Wolf Guard, waiting for the Wolf time with the killer instinct of Wolfs" I bet if they had a runepriest just keeping saying the word "W.O.L.F" enemy psykers heads would explode. I make dumb jokes saying the same word with multiple meanings and by the third time, people heads are melting.
Yeah the wolf wolf wolf wolf. It's dumb. It's an old joke at this point right? We will see with the next release wave. Please no more wolf helms and puppy sleds.
@@edwademberpants2552 yeah it gave me hope. I really am nervous about there next release wave and Russ. If he's a werewolf and they go down more wolf wolf and less Nordic more it may break my heart.
@@LemanoftheRussVIto me, they should of been preffered army to snatchsteal, like they dont look "clean" they look like the kinda people that eat the unaugmented citizens and use them for space marine golf sessions. Also doesnt help the lore has them being as useful as a actual furry. Lemon Russ actions in 30k would give any legion a black eye abd... trying to say that wolfsona of the emperor is vaguely kind and smart? 😂😂 He is the Khrone tier of "characters that try to br serious but are goofers" to me.
Still, though. Imagine the suffering that could have been avoided had Russ not hesitated at the critical moment and finished Horus when he had the chance.
Russ is a warrior without peer, no one can deny that fact. However, Russ is a warrior and what the Imperium needs most is a Primarch who can wield a pen just as well as they can wield a sword.
The Space Wolves and Leman Russ are my favorites but trust me I get the criticisms towards them. I wonder if Leman will return with a Odin like appearance. One eye lost, his hair and beard white and with the Emperor's spear in hand like Gungnir. When we last saw him he was more like a young Thor so I am merely continuing an old theory.
I don't think the argument for Russ is as solid as for Sanguinius or the Lion, but he's definitely better than most. I'd put him next to Dorn, the Praetorian, and that says a lot.
I wouldnt go that far, Dorn is loyalist Perturabo and Russ didnt do nowhere near the same help on his own side. Actually, he might have been actively detrimental with the leaving of the palace and the turning of the TS.
@@leandrocastello309 I'm not using their contribution to the events of the Siege of Terra as the only criterion for greatest primarch. It would take most of them out of the running altogether, and in the end Dorn would walk away with it easy.
He's way greater than the Lion, the Lion is way overrated. People just like the Lion more, Russ has accomplished far more. Sanguinius and pre-traitor Horus are the top two, but Russ has always better than the Lion. The Lion is petty, can't control his temper, he hasn't beating as many Primarchs, he was fooled into giving the siege guns to Perty.
What does not speak for Russ? He is what he was made to be, he is a human disguised as a monster. He is a learned man masquerading as a barbarian. Like the birdboy, he knew of the dark side of his existence, and he fought it. He know who and what he is, and he accepted it. Everything else is fluff writing, and heavily dependent on the author, some of whom wrote about characters they barely understood.
His hypothesize, I agree with his flexibility in tactical approach. I have always seen home as willing to do the things necessary for the imperium and the emperor. Sometimes he did things that were questionable. In my mind he really was one of the greatest. Not the greatest. We all have opinions about that. Think about it this way. He has a pack mentality. This extends to his brothers. Especially Horus. He tried, in burn and against all probability, to get his brother to come home. The same with Angron. Whither or not it was the right call he did try. Even though he disliked Magnus, he please with him. Although we know Magnus never heard him. The fact is he would have done anything for his brothers. That is clear. You can take all the gruff and cocky attitude and put it to the side. He was far more clever and intelligent than his brothers gave him credit for. His body of work is commendable because he actually cared for his brothers and the emperors dream. Sure he disposed some of them. Yet, through all of that he continued to do what he thought was right. For that, he has my respect. All jokes of being furries aside, he and the wolves have continued to be the wall upon which the enimies of the imperium break.
Indeed. His character is the true brother you want in the walk with you. That's the guy you fight for and with no matter what. That's why Russ is the greatest for me.
Russ is top tier. The only two things holding him back from being the greatest Primarch, and both of those things are also strengths in their own way. The first flaw is his intense sense of personal loyalty. The Emperor was not infallible and should not have been followed blindly. Horus was not redeemable Russ should have ended him when he had the chance. The second flaw is purely genetic. The dependency on the Cainis Helix and limited tissue compatibility he passed on to his sons have starkly limited the growth of his legion. It’s important to remember that a core function of a Primarch is to produce sons, and Russ’s limitation on this front places him behind many others in the rankings.
Yeah the lack of subsequent legions was a huge flaw. They were supposed to be the jailers of the entire eye of terror before the rift. Just couldn't make anymore.
@@LemanoftheRussVI Ironically some of the second and third edition lore hints that they kept the wolves intact as a legion. They were organized as "Great Companies" which operated independently of each other, with their own tactics and heraldry. In the Great Crusade era the term "Great Company" was what some legions called their chapters. This would have meant the Space Wolves were in fact 12 chapters strong in 40k. Sadly they got nerfed, and subsequent lore had their "Great Companies" shrunk to about 120 men a piece.
@@theodoremccarthy4438 I remember !! Third edition was a fun time. The more seemed so vast and the galaxy was very grim and very unknown. I loved looking at the books and the strange drawing s of unknown creatures and races etc. I don't miss the overly bright green bases though haha
I wonder how the fight with Sanginius would go. On one hand Sanginius can fly and fast, as we saw in End and Death. but we also know that he flies because of his warp power, so would Russ be able to neutralise this effect with his howl? and I mean a full on fight.
Agree with the comment above. 👆. I think russ could win. But it's not probable. Maybe if sanguineous was super emotional or crazy or having some issue we don't understand. But also the thought of those two coming to blows is so against both of their characters towards each other and themselves it doesn't even make sense. They both cared for their brothers their legions and also to an extent even the people around them. They would more likely die together than do anything against one another in almost any circumstance character wise. They both are awesome
I love Russ, but he is another Primarch wich needs a Partner to be unbeatable. Pair him and Guilliman or Sanguinius oven Dorn and they would ne a powerhouse not to mess with. I think with G-Man it would be the funniest though 😂
@@luizbizarro4757 The Emperor asked Magnus if he would return to the loyalists side, with a new legion. He refused, had he accepted... He could have sat in the place of the Emperor, so Malcador wouldn't have to give his life, and the Master of Mankind could join the battle.
I agree that the lion sees them as failures, but Russ has more compassion for his brothers believe me I wish Russ till those two as well, but it’s part of his character that he does not actually want to kill his brothers
@@LoganDripnar i hear ya. Its a good trait, usually. He is the execution, he failed. Bad for Russ though. He fucked up bad. Real bad. Not just Horus but Prospero where he had no problem killing people. Russ cant be the greatest. No way. But i do understand if he is your favorite.
Russ wasnt sent to kill angron. He was sent to show him that he wasnt working with his legion. That the nails was blinding them. And proved it by seperating angron from his warriors and could have killed him if he let his warriors. Even lorgar saw that. With horus yes he faltered and failed.
The "Night of the Wolf" is an example AGAINST Russ. It showed how little he actually understood Angron, how little he understood what Angron's goals were, why he used the methods he did, and what Angron considered "victory". Russ completely and utterly misunderstood every aspect of the situation, came in with the absolute worst possible strategy, it led to many Space Wolves dying for nothing as it accomplished nothing at all. Literally nothing. One could argue that Angron didn't win (I personally see it as Angron and the 12th won by Surviving... and Everyone in the Galaxy -*including Angron* - LOST by Angron surviving) but there is no Space Wolf victory. Sadly... that's far too common for Russ. He "beat" Magnus - and now Magnus and the Thousand Sons are some of the most potent enemies of the Imperium. He "beat" Horus - but couldn't finish the job, and Sanguinius died. No, these arguments are not good for Russ being the "greatest" Primarch.
@thatotherguy8138 that is right Russ did not know Angron but then nobody did at that point, "Night of the wolf" is not that long after angron got foundt and he's son's began to put nail in to their heads. EMP's gave up on saving angron for he was doomed to die tormentet and destroyd from what he were meandt to be. Russ a brother and one that were one of the first found, may had found some kindship in Angron with hes rage. Russ THE ONLY ONE of Angrons brothers tryde to let him see how bad it had come with the world eaters. yes Russ failed in what he came to do, but not for what he himself did. but because of Angron and he's intent to not think. with Magnus and 1k sons, they made theyr own bed. Magnus were the pitcure of pride and arogance, even in he's regret he "KNEW" what were gonna happen. so what did he do? he made it so nobody colud get in tuch with him or others. Magnus gave Russ no other choice. And the fight with Horus... i mean that made no sens... Russ may have beaten Horus, but it were impossebel for him to kill Horus. but that were the only thing the writeres could do after Russ got to Terra. because Russ were never on Terra when the sige happende. at least they made it so the wound Russ gave Horus made Horus unable to do mutch in the sige.
My main beef with Leman cosplaying the stupid barbarian is that he is doing 100% of the time, with every decision. So while pretending, he is for all purposes that stupid barbarian.
People love to site times he "failed" without understanding the context of those moments. Or failing to understand when russ wasnt trying to actually hurt/kill his brothers
@@andrewwilliams2014The one with Horus is unexcuseable, by the point they killed Ferrus Manus and were razing everyting. If Russ was the better man, he would of finished off Horus after seeing how foul he was leading up to that moment and just mercy killed him. Or at the least keep the Spear. Magnus can be debated as both sides were acting like children but Horus was clear betray.
Tbh, I would want to see a verison of 40k where Russ is the one to fall and the World Eaters remain loyal to the end. But for Russ... Emperor Executioner... i swear like every other character is written well from the starting line... but Russ seems like they had no idea what he should do or be like. It feels like he could fall out of the series and it wouldnt "really" matter
I am, like Rho, unashamedly Team Russ. I truly believe Sanguinius is the greatest of the primarchs. That’s the point of his character. We’re meant to bemoan his death and feel his absence. That’s why I think you kind of have to take him out of the equation, he’s SUPPOSED to be perfect. Of the rest, I truly believe Russ is the greatest. There is true hidden depth to his character. He is a pragmatist. He gets things done. He’s effective. He’s focussed on his mission, even to the detriment of himself and his sons. And most of all … he’s loyal. If all the other primarchs were like Russ we wouldn’t have a 40k story - because the Emperor would have conquered the galaxy with no problem. That’s the sign of greatness to me. With that said, honourable mention to the Lion who compares to Russ in terms of adaptability and effectiveness. It’s no wonder they come into conflict. Opposite sides of the same coin.
The one disagreement I have is that the Lion is the ultimate pragmatist. If he has Russ’s spear Horus would have been dead. Russ is more sentimental than him. But I agree the two are two sides of a coin.
At the same time that ultimate pragmatism as a legion got the first where ? A lot of them fell. Was that pragmatism? Was it just blind following Luther ? Do we know ? Idk. But the wolves did not do that in the slightest. The new lion is a much greater character than the old in my opinion. Be cool if he went in a hunt and helped bring Russ back !
Why? Because only Perturabo and Mortarion helped heresy more that Russ. And still, after forcing Magnus and Thousand Sons into chaos he managed to avoid punishment and counts as loyal. Also he weakened Terra's defences when he took his legion to "kill" Horus. Of course he didn't kill him. Alpharius wouldn't play it better. :)
I always felt Russ had the most dramatic failures of any of the loyalist primarchs. Tries and fails to teach Angron a lesson, on his own accord. Angron walks away even more self assured and confident. Manipulation by Horus sends Magnus’ legion to the arms of the traitors and prevents him from returning to assist the emperor in fixing the webway. Goes to end Hours and sacrifices his sons in the process. Then fails to do his job as the executioner, gets critically wounded and more of his sons die extracting him. Is out of the rest of the heresy. We never see Russ actually be the executioner, yes it’s hinted that he took out the 2 lost primarchs but we have zero solid evidence of it. If his later track record is any indication he failed in those attempts or learned the wrong lesson from them and now hesitates.
Did our resident space dog restrain himself on a Russ Is the Best video to barely 10 minutes? ..... I'm thinking we may need to contact someone to do a welfare check on Rho...
Except he isn't. Sanguinius. Period. End. Of. Fucking. Story. Even against Horus essentially as the conduit of all four chaos gods Sanguinius wounded and exhausted after defeating titans and two greater demons of khorne still was a pain in the ass to Horus. Russ barely was a gnat.
he was pretty great at killing the emperor and ensuring the golden age tech was properly burned thats just about all he, and the mutant spawn he tried to kill his brother to hide, ever did
Did you mention when the lion knocked him clean out as Rus was taking too long on operations and threw a tantrum because the lion and the Dark Angels did his execution job for him?
After russ realized thier wresstling was foolish and dumb (whicb to be fair was started by russ) and lion sucker punched him when russ stopped fighting him. Russ let it go cause he loved the lion for never speaking about the wulfen he saw that day. Russ was late because he had to put down one of his oldest freinds who fell to the curse. Also why he was in a bad mood.
so why did you fail to MENTION Russ stopped attacking and started laughing when he realized how stupid the fighting was. Then he got sucker punched by Lion while laughing.
Yeah cause Russ loves him and didn't care at all and thought the whole thing was absolutely stupid. He also felt bad for putting the lion in the situation where he learned of the wulfen and also literally just killed one of his closest friends because of the curse and the lion knew. Typical dark angel comment. So overly serious. Doesn't realize the other guy actually cares about him / them. Russ loved him!
Russ lost to Angron, because he sought to teach a lesson, that Angron cared nothing about. Russ wanted to teach the value of tactical skill, when Angron did not care and just wanted to die. So Russ lost. Angron won on his own terms and cared nothing about Russ's meaningless goals.
... Russ didn't want to kill him. He literally could have. Not only was he himself holding back, but he completely outclassed him strategically. From the words of Lorgar, "This is the greatest case of outmaneuvering in the history of the Legions." How did Angron win? Because he didn't kill him?
@@B1ackWolf Angron equally didn't want to kill Russ in that melee. So we ultimately can't conclude anything about the pure 1 vs 1. Angron also was completely fine calling Russ's bluff. Russ wasn't allowed to kill Angron, and Angron knew it. He ran no actual risk of Death.. But even further than that, Angron is suicidal and cares nothing about being gunned down. He smiled and laughed in the Wolves faces, daring them to shoot. Russ wanted to teach a solid, real and reasonable lesson. Angron simply didn't value anything Russ had to say. And since a win for Russ ultimately had to mean convincing Angron.... Russ lost. He had no chance.
@@Kristian.B.Kristiansen ... wtf is that logic! The argument is who won the fight, not who convinced who. Leman was holding back the entire time to draw him away from his legion. Completely surrounding him and cutting him off from his legion. If the fight had continued, both Angron and the world eaters would have died. The books, including Lorgar, are one of the only primarchs close to Angron spell it out what's going on. Perturabo does the same thing to him. How did Angron win because he didn't get himself killed? Wtf is this logic? I swear to god, 90% of the people involved in warhammer 40k don't read the books.
@@B1ackWolf How could you possible think i haven't read the Novel (Betrayer by Aaron Dembski-Bowden) when my argument was on mental states and details in the wider context? That is simply moronic of you. Regardless "winning" mean different things in relationship to context. Angron won on the parameters he cared for. Russ failed to achieve his goals and Angron carried on like nothing had happened.
@@Kristian.B.Kristiansen Because literally the book spells it out what happens word for word. Not even Angron was coping as hard as you. You moved the goalpost from who won the fight to "Did Russ achieve his goal of educating Angron" Literally, the entire argument is who won the fight. Who could have killed who? Who had who in his mercy? Who completely outclassed who? If the fight continued, who would have won? The answer to all these questions CANONICALLY is Russ. Another Primarch himself spells it out. You ignore all this to cope in fanfiction. What other conclusion am I gonna end up on? Cause the only other option I can come up on is you being delusional. So you either haven't read the book or you're delusional. You pick. If you're talking about the book and the book says it's green and you say it's purple. I'm gonna raise questions about you actually having read the book. Not to mention your "details in the wider context" is you just moving the goalpost from who won the fight to "Did russ achieve his goal" A five year old who hasn't read a single book in his life could make this same argument about anything. By no means does it prove you read the book.
Russ got HARD carried by the Sisters of Silence. He's also squandered the opportunity to talk like he said he would; failed to follow the emperor's orders to bring him back and fell for Horus' deceit without asking questions. Just like the dumb brute he ever succesfully portrays to be. He single handedly pushed the Thousand Sons into the arms of chaos. How else could anyone perceive Russ' actions on Prospero as anything but deceit of the highest order? He's a traitor, a mutant and a barbarian.
Have you heard of our lord and savior Sanguinius? Seriously, I'm not a Blood Angels simp, but I recognize that Glorious Hawk Boy is overall the best of the bunch. Even Horus said that Sanguinius should have been Warmaster.
STOP the CAP Rho!!!! I love the Russ just as much as anyone else...but "The Emperor's Executioner" didn't exactly perform that role...at all...not even once. He is a hammer that can't hit the nail. Even your own examples...you name him as executioner, then highlight his loyalty traits. PLUS...let's not forget that his attack on Magnus/Prospero would have abolished his Legion if Magnus hadn't left all the doors open. Magnus...still alive(ish). Horus...killed by someone else and his own sons paid the price of his failure. Fulgrim...not killed by Leman. Angron...not killed by Leman. Morty...not killed by Leman. Angron...not killed by Leman. Looks like a snarling, drooling hammer that can't hit the nail. You had 1 job Leman....1 freaking job. I fear Rowboat Girlyman more than The Emperor's Feral Labrador. Obviously this is semi-satire. Leman is an excellent character in 40K and the lore would be lacking without him...but making a case for him being the best is...reaching.
Russ' every impact on the heresy empowered the traitors and weakened the loyalists. Prospero - manipulated into attacking a legion that would have tried to atone for magnus' mistake and stood with the emperor against the traitors to do it. Wallowing in self pity after prospero and refusing to properly lead his legion, almost costing them massively against the alpha legion. Returned to terra then left because his ego couldn't stomach taking orders from dorn, the emperor's appointed praetorian so chose to leave on a suicidal run at the sons of horus. How different the siege could have been had the wolves been there instead of russ willingly throwing his legion's capacity to be a serious threat to the traitors away. Russ did nothing during the heresy advantageous for the loyalist side
Knocked by the Lion; Smashed by Angron; Beaten by Horus; Even f*cking Magnus took out one of his hearts. Leman trully is the greatest... at getting his ass kicked
Lion got in a cheap shot. Angron was outfought, if not beaten. Horus was defeated but allowed a moments respite. Magnus got himself a backbreaker... Know your lore 😉
Russ is far from the greatest, all his supposed victories you mentioned i(and many others) see as failures. For the so called "executioner" he didnt execute bloody anyone. Didnt kill Magnus properly, failed to kill Horus when he had the chance(most other loyalists would've) and its never been confirmed he killed or had anything to do with the 2 lost primarchs. Nearly all his major moves in the heresy were stupid and happened because he's an arrogant w⚓️. He should've stayed on Terra.
Russ had prep time and anti psyker stuff when he went against magnus plis magnus was already missin part of himself plus he was emotionally damaged which is devastating to a psykers power. Basically he had every advantage against magnus and still got super hurt. Where as angron had his legion at a disadvantage, they still wouldve had a super power primarch who couldve smashed through there advantage. Also the while horus thing only worked caused the spear is like anti chaos pointless. Also everyone knew the whole kill magnus thing was sus but russ said "fuck it we ball cause i hate that guy"
Of course he is! and I'm completely unbiased in my opinion (goes back to painting Wolf Guard)

'Lord of Winter' - what happens to Russ on Fenris during the season of fire? Tiz always a forgotten aspect when it comes to Spacewolf cannon.
I always think of the summer season with the volcanoes crazy seas and insane storms. Never talked about for sure. Kinda drives me nuts a bit. They don't always live in winter. It's hit cold and everything in between.
It’s about time man, obviously he is the greatest!

I make dumb jokes saying the same word with multiple meanings and by the third time, people heads are melting.
I like to think people just tune out after repetitive use of the word wolf.
Yeah the wolf wolf wolf wolf. It's dumb. It's an old joke at this point right? We will see with the next release wave. Please no more wolf helms and puppy sleds.

He is the Khrone tier of "characters that try to br serious but are goofers" to me.

Still, though.
Imagine the suffering that could have been avoided had Russ not hesitated at the critical moment and finished Horus when he had the chance.
yeah - it proved he both can succeed but can also fail ... but as Rho put it, for a very human reason.... can't be too annoyed about that :p

It's either Russ or the G man for me, my heart will always says Russ
Agreed. No further context needed
@@bobbobertbobberton1073I have to agree. The Lion is way overrated in the fandom. His personal desires and actions bordering on treasonous.
Great stuff mate. Hope you're doing well. From a fellow wolf
Here it is!!!!
The Wolf Lord thinks The Great Wolf is best? Nuh-uh...
This guy gets it
Praise Russ
Indeed. His character is the true brother you want in the walk with you. That's the guy you fight for and with no matter what. That's why Russ is the greatest for me.
40k whold be very different if he had spared Magnus ans slain Hours. That's not an easy call to make though.
What a bad ass.
Russ is a beast in battle and tactics not even juiced up Horus could defeat him
Russ is top tier.

Russ fan boy but i belive 60/40 angel boy comes out on top. Sang was just such a beast even russ said he doubted he could beat him
Agree with the comment above.
They both are awesome
...we are using the Emperors judge of character as the first check mark for this video? Oooook lol
I love Russ, but he is another Primarch wich needs a Partner to be unbeatable. Pair him and Guilliman or Sanguinius oven Dorn and they would ne a powerhouse not to mess with. I think with G-Man it would be the funniest though 😂
This furry has been moon gazing for too long Lemon Russ the best primarch? ha!
Russ spent the entire Heresy failing the Loyalist side. His every action helped the Traitors or Chaos.
Russ is really good my 2nd favorite behind just rogal dorn.
The Emperor trusts Russ.
Also Russ, bodies Magnus in turn ruins the Webway project and intention for Magnus to sit on the Golden Throne.
But it was magnus that broke the webway 😅
@@luizbizarro4757 The Emperor asked Magnus if he would return to the loyalists side, with a new legion.

Most loyal primarch because well.... he's basically a doggy.

Didn't kill Angron, Didn't kill Horus. Time sees these as mistakes. The Lion would call them failures.
I agree that the lion sees them as failures, but Russ has more compassion for his brothers believe me I wish Russ till those two as well, but it’s part of his character that he does not actually want to kill his brothers
Not new Lion I guess. Dont forget who gave ancient siege weapons to Perturabo
Also, magnus would have beat him without his wolves interference
So while pretending, he is for all purposes that stupid barbarian.
lies and deception from a bookworm egyptian suit of powered dust armor
Russ is one of the greatest yet one of the most hated, which is completely unwarranted.

Haven't watched it yet but boy oh boy this is going to be a tough sell !
I am sorely disappointed that this video isn't a full hour. For Shame! You call yourself a Wolflord. Pfffft!

Had horus not been empowered , russ would have got him , in theory the attack was good
FENRYS HJOLDA!!!

ALGORITHM
Sanguinius best Primarch!
He isn't even the goodest boy.
Well put

Honestly him and gulliman are my least favorite primarchs. Russ is hypocritical and blindly self righteous

He defeated magnus because his wolves helped him out
Russ lost to Angron, because he sought to teach a lesson, that Angron cared nothing about.
From the words of Lorgar, "This is the greatest case of outmaneuvering in the history of the Legions."
How did Angron win?

@@Kristian.B.Kristiansen Because literally the book spells it out what happens word for word. Not even Angron was coping as hard as you.

If the fight continued, who would have won?
The answer to all these questions CANONICALLY is Russ. Another Primarch himself spells it out.
You ignore all this to cope in fanfiction. What other conclusion am I gonna end up on? Cause the only other option I can come up on is you being delusional.

Just gloss over the part where he fucked up the siege of Terra for everyone and yea sure
Gotta love how Rho still thinks Russ was there to teach Angron a lesson lol
Jagatai Khan still greatest
Russ got HARD carried by the Sisters of Silence. He's also squandered the opportunity to talk like he said he would; failed to follow the emperor's orders to bring him back and fell for Horus' deceit without asking questions. Just like the dumb brute he ever succesfully portrays to be. He single handedly pushed the Thousand Sons into the arms of chaos. How else could anyone perceive Russ' actions on Prospero as anything but deceit of the highest order? He's a traitor, a mutant and a barbarian.

HE'S BIASED! THIS IS BIASED!
Must have been a struggle for Rho to come up with anything...
Knocked by the Lion;
Smashed by Angron;
Beaten by Horus;
Even f*cking Magnus took out one of his hearts.
I will never get that, literally the one most written to be a Harsh but Loyal badass... was written like a drunkard crybully.
For me Russ was one of the disappointments of the heresy books too much time sulking and having confidence issues.
His book sucked. A lot.
He is definetly the primarch I feel is the most mishandled through the series. I only really like how he is handled by Dan Abnett.
Nah
Russ, definitely one of my top 5 but I cant stand his legion...all the viking talk annoys me...the murdermake....annoying
