Wasn't a fan of Zac from the "High School Musical" trilogy but this movie really shows his talent. No father, no father in the world wants to be in this situation with their daughter. But the acting from at her most venerable and his comforting looks so genuine.
You have violated God's Law that He wrote in your heart; your own conscience condemns you. Therefore, you deserve 'the fine'-the punishment of hell. But God is good, gracious, and kind. He desires to show you mercy! For this reason, Jesus Christ (God in the flesh) died on the cross. The Law was violated, but Christ paid the fine. He suffered in exchange, as the Substitute; and He rose on the third day. Repent and place all your faith in the Person and work of Jesus Christ, and you will be saved from the wrath of God.
This magical teenage fantasy movie is the reason why I wish was a teenager again and want to go back to being a teenage boy so that I can fix everything in my past.
the weirdest part about this movie is how.. yes ik.. thats her dad.... but its the fact that even when they were super close to each other and hugged each other she never fell for him 😭i mean if an attractive new guy came to my school an helped me through all of that i think i would like him
I always wonder if he and Scarlett ever told Alex and Maggie that he was their dad all along. Because, on the one hand, it'd be really sweet to learn that this guy that has been doing all this protective stuff for both Maggie and Alex, and also helping Alex get on the basketball team. But...on the other hand, it'd be REALLY awkward for Maggie to realize this.
That's why I like the Korean version that was made as a series, there they can reconcile with their father since when he was young he says that it was his father who sent him to take care of them, this solves the fact that they never found out about his young version but they do know that everything he did for them was thanks to his father.
Of the characters, she is a pretty terrible one in every respect - trying to jump this guy's bones right after crying about a breakup, and being in a relationship with a guy that is physically abusive towards her brother. I don't know in what world the father thinks BOTH his kids are "good kids". The guy is, but the girl is pretty terrible on a personal level.
And she is just like her mother, totally forgetting he sacrificed a promising career for her baby, and throwing his belongings in the wood chipper after throwing him out of HIS HOUSE for nothing other than not being at home for long.
@@shjp2148 Not sure if I would equate the two of them. It is unclear as to what the nature of their marriage is - so it is difficult to really get a clear read on the mother. With the daughter, there is zero ambiguity with regards to the daughter.
I Sean Finneran am imaging my teenage self being in this scene with Maggie talking to her the same way her 17 year old dad did and I would let her fall in love with me.

This movie has a dumb premise…times always change…anyone who’d already been through high school would return to high school just like Adam Sandler did in _Billy Madison;_ where he pulls up to his high school in a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am _(Bandit Edition),_ blasting the song Stroke by Billy Squire wearing a denim jacket over an REO Speed Wagon baseball shirt & all the mid 1990s high school kids are either leering at him or laughing at him because he’s 10 years outta date in terms of relative perspective of what’s considered to be _cool…_ in a time where women wore big hair, heavy metal was the coolest style of music, and people wore ripped jeans, leather pants, biker jackets, denim jackets, etc… chicks would’ve been all over him, but in a time period where a Trans Am like that wasn’t yet really commonly thought of as a _Classic Car,_ & not every kid had found the time to sit through Smokey & the Bandit 1 & 2 yet (Smokey & the Bandit 3 did not feature a Trans Am like the second generation one which Burt Reynolds made synonymous with rebelling against the law & the rules of the road, it had a 3rd generation (‘82-‘92) Pontiac Trans Am which shared it’s body with IROC Camaros, no longer featured a Phoenix graphic covering it’s hood & Burt Renoylds’ part in the 3rd movie was a short bit of archival footage recycled from Smokey & the Bandit 2, the truck driver from 1 & 2, was the _Bandit_ in number 3, just awful…

@@couturecriminal8330 Awful because of the horrific deaths in it? It’s a crime film it’s supposed be that way! 😝
I love that this scene didn't show the most unrealistic pretty cry and that it showed that realistic crying doesn't always look like you're on a movie
The concerned "what did he do?" To the stern "what did he do?" Gets me 😂😂

I feel so bad for the dad. Like that's his daughter. 😂
He must have been so uncomfortable.
Then imagine the party scene where she almost.. never mind
Such good physical acting from both of them. Her getting vurnable then into him, him being constantly caring, and rejecting her advances respectfully.
She's probably like so confused, but like it's his daughter so that must be so awkward for him. 😂
I feel so bad for her.

Thank you for sharing. I understand that feeling. You're the person you are today because of the mistakes you learned from in the past. ❤
Just watch "The Butterfly effect", it's a cure to that felling.
Well, a more sweet version is "About time".

Even if they did tell them: would their children even believe them??
Probably never because Alex would feel like he never had a real friend and Maggie would feel disgusted she was falling in love with her young dad

Her brother in the movie looked 12 and she looked 24
Dawn from Buffy ❤️
She was from Harriet the Spy

The bigger is the disappointment
