    Kelly !! ☺️💛 Thank you for including the “eco friendly” factor. Many times I look for the products that interest me and I can't find this information or I don't know all the ingredients that I should avoid to not contaminate. Could you make a video about it? how to know if they have microparticles and contaminating ingredients, please !!! and clean planet product recommendations 🌎💛🙏🏼 It would be a great help !!! for me and I think that for everyone it should be a great topic to consider, we are destroying our own planet 😞 I would also like to propose a “campaign” so that all the ingredients of our products come out in the container and not only in the box (which most of us throw away) so we would be much more aware of what we are using and learn about our bodies 🥰 it would be wonderful ! Love from Chili 🇨🇱

    UPDATE: It's come to my attention that the I'm From Ginseng Essence is indeed fermented. After contacting the brand directly, it was confirmed that not all online retailers have been provided the full information on how their mugwort is treated. I always strive to bring the most accurate information to my reviews and hope this update helps. Thank you to all who helped point this out! I confess nothing I bought from I'm From really overwhelmed me... what I tried (vitamin cream.. honey mask...etc etc...) was not memorable (and overpriced at being "ok"). The same I think of Laneige to be honest... On the contrary I am very happy with Missha products almost all the times. Personal opinion of course ;)

    I personally prefer the Banila Co than the Heimish one. I realized that when I don’t wash off properly and leave some residue on my hairline, the Heimish would cause small pimples to form. And its just more creamy than the banila co which is more clear and that’s what i prefer. :)

      Oh, and I use the purple one which is better for sensitive skin coz it has a lot less fragrances. Plus, stylekorean always put that version on sale for almost 40% off so I tend to bulk buy it anyway 😁

    You really are that sister I would love to have to craze over k-beauty things over together! Not only that, your view regarding responsible consumption and environmentally friendly product very educational and make everything so much easier for me that is looking for such products! Been trying to look for more k-beauty products that are cruelty-free, environmentally friendly, and/or more sustainable.
    Been using heimish all clean balm for the longest time as it's a better value for money product, but I'm switching to banila.co as soon as I finished my current container after this video!

      Aw ya! I love it, I don't have any IRL friends that like K-beauty so I'm glad we can connect and gush over products here! I bought the Heimish originally for the same reason, it's a better value but that Banila (especially with the reformulation) just stacks up better! I do believe that small steps in our consumption can really add up to a big difference, we all choose different ways to do that but skincare is an area that is easy to adjust!

    The only reason that I went for the Heimish over the Banila is because Heimish is a cruelty free brand, whereas Banila is not. I know that doesn't matter to everyone but to me, that is a big deciding factor when buying products. However, hearing about the environmental impact that the Heimish balm may have, I'll have to do some shopping around...

    I love this video series, because this is what any skincare enthusiast wants to know: to decide between the two top best bets...
    Btw, the retail prices sounded a bit high. Yesstyle has sometimes very good deals. I remember seeing the I'm from for about 23€ a while ago, but now the 160ml bottle it's again at 34€...The Missha essence was now available in a mist form in a 120ml bottle for 27€... (1$=0,9€, 1€=1,1$) I think that this continuous price hunting of k&j beauty is an exciting part of the hobby. Yes, I think skincare as one of my hobbies, which is the most time and money consuming of them😳☺️

      Yay, so glad you're seeing some success with your new gentle routine! It's always tricky to treat congestion with a weak barrier (especially because congestion is often a symptom of your weak barrier, usually not a separate issue). A gentle alternative that could help is niacinamide, I'd look for percentages between 2-5% to keep it gentle but effective! @purplefishii 5 років тому +3

    I love this series!
    However, there are some bits of misinformation here
    1) 100% extract does not mean 1 ingredient. Korean labeling regulations are a bit different; an extract is simply a solution: typically the star ingredient, a solvent, and a preservative. In the case with I'm from, the preservative is 1-2 hexanediol. If it were 100% mugwort, it would just be a mostly solid slurry of plant matter. It's misleading but at least it narrows it down so that you know there's nothing like fragrances or essential oils
    2) The I'm from essence is fermented, just not twice like the Missha!
    I love the I'm from and have the Missha one coming in, hope I love that one too! I've heard that the I'm from is more hydrating though, did you find that to be the case?

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  5 років тому

      I'd love to know where you've read the ingredients about 1-2 hexanediol...? I do understand that 100% doesn't mean 100% of the formula but just curious as this info was not available to me when researching this video. (same with the fermented bit, as that was already pointed out and I have emailed Wishtrend about this as it's not listed anywhere on their site).

    • @purplefishii
      @purplefishii 5 років тому

      @@KellyDriscoll it's the I'm from that is fermented once, I saw it once it it looks like they took it down? Multiple blog reviews also note this in their description, kind of a strange thing to happen in frequency at the time it came out. As I mentioned, labeling laws don't require it as it is considered part of the extract, same way parfum can actually be composed of many individual components. People have contacted I'm from and that was the official response, there's some posts on r/AsianBeauty; soo beauty also mentioned this on her UA-cam channel. It's not disclosed officially because the companies aren't required to disclose the exact components of what that country's laws deem to be proprietary, like parfum.

      The fact that there isn't super prominent expiration almost necessitates preservatives. If there weren't preservatives, pure plant extract in a solvent like water or glycerin would degrade incredibly quickly.

    Great comparisons! The one I really wanted to see you did in this video. The Iunik and Klairs. I love facial oils but sometimes want something a tiny bit lighter, so I’m intrigued by both of these. The Iunik, however, would probably suit me best. To be honest I want them both, lol.
    Thanks a bunch, girlie🍃🌸

      They both have their own merits and for being lightweight they do pack a punch which has been a blessing this summer for my skin! (this humidity has me drenched in minutes 😳)

    I have used both cleansing balms and I agree with you... Banila Co is better.
    I was taking a break from the Heimish balm because my skin is irritated (probably from tryining to incorporate retin A) and it's the only oil cleanser I have left.
    I went into a skincare detox for a couple of days and as soon as I used the Heimish again, it burned and left me back in square one.

    I have the I’m From Mugwort essence and the box says“ The essence contains single extract of fermented Gangwha mugwort”...so it is fermented right? But the Missha is fermented twice vs just once???

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  5 років тому

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  5 років тому +3

      Yeah I can see it on the marketing material they post on Yesstyle but I think it's odd they don't mention that anywhere else, it's not in any of the text for the product either (not the image gallery of yesstyle) and Wishtrend is the official retailer of I'm From and there is zero reference to this (I used Wishtrend for my research for this video, btw) that's super disappointing the information is somewhat hidden and not obvious as many people are sensitive to fermented ingredients. I'm going to reach out to Wishtrend about this because it could be a big oversight!
