    Kelly thank you for always having the best, detailed information about each product and key ingredients in these products. I love being educated on the functionality of products and why they are or aren’t good and what they target! I wanted to get a Propolis product but I’m trying not to overwhelm my skin with too many products as I am on prescription topical creams such as retin-a, antibiotics ect but I do have the Klairs blue midnight calming cream and I’m glad you explained that it’s not so much a moisturizer because I never felt like it was and now I know why. ❤️ I’m super sensitive so I’m into the Soon Jung 2x Barrier intensive cream and the Illiyoon Ceramide concentrate.

    Great video! Thanks to you, I'm finally seeing results with the Midnight Blue Calming Cream. You had explained before that it wasn't a moisturizer, something that I didn't know... And now I use it under the Soon Jung 2x Barrier Cream.
    I'm recovering from an irritation period and these two were the only fragance free skincare products I had available.
    Funny thing is that I felt at first that the 2x Barrier Cream was a little occlusive, using by itself. Now my skin got used to it and it feels lighter.

    Hi Kelly! With so may K-beauty products that each contain different star ingredients, I am wondering if there are things we shouldn't use at the same time? I have acquired several different products now and I don't know if I can/should use everything together? Some things I have are Secret Key Aloe Toner, Earth Recipe Energy Boosting Toner, Cosrx AHA/BHA toner, The Plant Base Ceramide serum, The Plant Base Collagen serum, iUnik Propolis serum, Etude House 5.5 toner, pyunkang yui toner, Laneige cream skin refiner, tonymoly chok chok watery green tea moisturizer. I also use a vitamin c serum and sometimes at night a moisturizer containing retinol. Of course I don't put all of those on my face at once but just curious what things in K-beauty we shouldn't mix.

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  5 років тому +2

      I don't see any reason why, in theory you can't use them all together. I do recommend using actives (aha, bha, vitamin c, retinol) in separate routines, less because they don't mix and more because it can potentially be irritating to skin.

    Hi Kelly, I could really use a recommendation for a moisturizer for my husband. He has combo/oily skin but with rough flaky patches right in the oiliest areas (between the eyebrows and sies of the nose). Those areas also tend to be red/sensitive, especially during tue winter months. With the help of your videos (especially clogged pores/dehydrated skin) I put together a regimen for him which he actually sticks to :D and seems to help a lot. The only thing I haven't figured out is the right moisturizer. It shouldn't be too heavy cause he hates the feeling of heavy/oily/sticky creams but should still be moisturizing and kind of calming and not adding to the clogged pores in and around his nose.... sry for the long comment :D but I really hope you can recommend one or two products. Thanks for your work! :)

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  5 років тому +1

      Hmmm that's a tough one but maybe check out cerve moisturizing lotion (not cream) it's lighter than the cream but still has the good moisturizing capabilities, with those dry patches and dehydration he most likely need good moisturization to help get things in balance.

    Dear Kelly, thanks for the video, and for all your content actually - thoroughly done and eloquently conveyed.
    Regarding iUnik serum - I've been surprised that you (and in fact no-one) didn't refer to the fact that it contains witch hazel. Which is an astringent, it can be drying and sometimes can contribute developing an allergy. In iUnik serum witch hazel appears quite down on the list, but it's there.
    This has been a reason I, although have been contemplating on buying the serum, still haven't done it.

      Yes it has witch hazel and rose water as well! I don't find the iunik to be drying or have any stringent properties but of course if you have an individual sensitivity to the ingredient it's probably best to avoid.

    Hi Kelly, I'm considering buying the Skinfood royal honey essence as a winter hydrator, it seems great however I see a lot of people raving about it more so for dry skin and as I have combination skin, i'm afraid it won't work for me, would you be able to help me with this?

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  5 років тому

      I recommend it for combo skin as the texture is very balanced, it's not heavy!

      @@KellyDriscoll It's unfortunate that in the meantime I found it's not fungal acne safe at all :/ it's a shame since everyone seems to love it. Thank you anyway!

    Question. The skinfood propolis is it an essence or serum? When should I apply it? Can I use it as my essence?

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  5 років тому +1

      It's called an essence, I use it as a serum! Texture is thinner than serum and thicker than essence, so it's in between!

    I am interested in buying from yesstyle. Can anyone tell me if the shipping take a while because of customs or is there an average customs charge? Thanks!

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  5 років тому +1

      Depends where you are but I usually wait about 2 weeks for my orders to the states for items that are in stock (if you're in a hurry make sure to filter your search for in stock items). No problem with customs and if you have to pay customs yesstyle has a form you fill out for a refund on the fees!

    Hi ! I love your videos!!!! love skincare and layering. Right now I’m layering essences then I use the Paula’s choice 10% niacinamide booster( check the ingredients) next a Tranexamic acid combo serum and different hyaluronic serum... then cerave pm. Any other choices that might be better? Or other suggestions of things to add. I can get mild slight rosacea flare ups once in awhile and I like to keep the skin barrier strong. I’d say I’m normal skin and get a bit dehydrated sometimes . Thanks so much!

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  5 років тому +1

      They definitely could be compared against each other as well. Soon jung does fall more into the moisturizer category texture wise so I chose the klairs and iope as special irritation treatments for the 1st segment.

    Can you make a video about the best skincare items under makeup? I have liked for example the Snail bee high content essence and Deep green tea lotion from Benton. Have noticed also that sheet masks can be a disaster before a foundation application... So warning about the failures would be nice too. I know that your channel is about K-beauty, but as you wear makeup, have you noticed some examples of makeup items that your skin wouldn't tolerate and which on the opposite have relatively good ingredients... We just put so much effort on searching the best skincare but then kind of settle for less in our makeup products! Or have you already eliminated bad stuff from your makeup arsenal?! I think there would be some interesting content to be created around this subject.

      That's an interesting idea! If I even have issues with pilling particularly I'll always state it. The only ingredients I've recently begun to avoid (Idk why I never thought to look) from makeup, particularly my foundations, is alcohol! I find it can really dehydrate my skin throughout the day!
