Thank you so much, it means the world to me to know you enjoy them!💕Collagen is really not a great ingredient to apply topically in skincare products because it absorbs poorly into the skin, and as we know it has to absorb to be effective at the deeper level for us! Using products that *stimulate* your body's natural collagen production is a much better way to get that collagen going in your skin! To name a few, Vitamin C, retinol, centella and niacinamide in percentages of 4% and higher have this ability!
Thank you thank you..! I have been using some collagen products myself and have noticed they don't worknso great. I have been looking for another product to substitute those 2 products.

My moisture barrier is damaged presently. I was using, Neutrogena hylauronic Acid( which does wonders for my skin) Vitamin C, cerave cream, sunscreen during the day. At Night I used the above items, minus Vitamin C, alternated days with Curology (.009 Tretinoin, 2% Niacinamide, 2% Tanexamic ) and lactic Acid on different days and was fine with this for several months. I recently increased my Curology percentages, and with just one use, my moisture barrier was damaged. I stopped Curology, Vitamin C, lactic Acid for one week and was fine. I added Krave moisture barrier relief and Cosrx rice mask to my skincare during the week that I took a break and my skin did heal. I resumed Curology again, no other acids, and again my skin is dehydrated. I am starting menopause, have dry skin and sun spots, so stopping Curology is not an option. Late to the party. I have both. I wish my face liked liquid gold but it won't cooperate 😔 I use it on my body after scrubs and it's a dream in that regard!
What cleansers/moisturizers do you recommend? I don’t know if you’ll see this, but a person is struggling to heal her barrier. I’m currently using Oat So Simple Water Cream, but I don’t think it’s doing much.
I have been using the great barrier relief for over a year now. But I have been thinking of adding liquid hold for night (I am pale).my wallet does NOT thank you, but I do lol!
Any recommendations specifically geared towards tretinoid treatment? I'm at 5/6 months, but my skin is constantly dry. Living in the dry hot California might not help. Any recs between GBR and LG?
I think it depends what type of exfoliant you are using, the bigger the molecule the better for sensitive skin but be aware that you won’t get results as quickly. I’d say try PHAS for shedding dead skin cells at the surface. I’m not sure about bha (salicylic acid) to treat more blackheads that penetrate the oils in your pores and help w eliminating extra sebum/oil. I know inkey list has a pha toner and glow recipe has a watermelon pha toner that is very hydrating and soothing. According to Paula’s Choice blog, bhas are soothing to the skin. Also, be aware of the pH of products if they disclose it or you can ask the brand directly because the lower the pH the more likely it can irritate your skin. Maybe wait a little bit more until you are confident in trying exfoliating ingredients that I listed above. Definitely stay away from glycolic acid for now because it ha the smallest molecular size out of all the AHAs, mandelic acid will be your friend and again, try PHAS. Good luck to you and your skin care/barrier repairing journey. -from a girl that loves skincare on the internet ☺️
can you still use something like the dermological daily microfoliant (a few times a week) to help with texture issues/peeling under makeup while trying to restore your moisture barrier?
If I were you I would wait. Repairing your skin barrier will help with your other issues. Any type of exfoliating on a damaged or compromised barrier is risky! Jmo
Great content, thanks Kelly. I have RP Stratia many times and am yet to try Krave as i love Stratia so much and also use a pure Tamanu oil, which i adore the scent of lol. 2 Q for you Kelly- Is it true that any ingredient listed after phenyoxanethanol/parabens/preservatives is in such small quantities they are not functional? Thinking of Cerave! In Europe the inci list is always in the % but i believe the US is not the same? For my fellow English and European sisters, check out a brand called Ceramol 3-1-1 sold on Amazon and several European pharmacies. It has that golden ratio! xox
Ceramol sounds really interesting, might need to see if I can easily get a hold of it here in the states! We usually don't list the ingredients in percentages here which can make things tricky! Generally the ingredients listed last are used in the lowest percentage of the total formula. The preservative ingredients are almost always used in percentages much lower that 1% so that would mean anything after is typically used in lesser amounts. I wouldn't necessary consider those ingredients ineffective (every ingredient plays it's part) but if the product in question is, say, a honey product and you see honey as the last or second to last ingredient, it's annoying and probably not doing much! 😂
@@KellyDriscoll Thank you so much for the clarification. I really appreciate the time and effort you put in your vids and that they are research led. I was thinking about the Cerave moisturisers in particular with the ceramides. On the UK version they are last lol ( or not funny really given the brand is sold on that basis). I got my Ceramol on Amazon and they do ship international, but whether you get stung with customs charges or not i don't know how it works there. It is the only skincare product i have found that is still on my face in the morning, and i have a large skincare collection inc night sleeping masks :/ xox
Oh weird! My cerave moisturizing cream orders the ceramides in the middle of the list! They also use a diverse mix of ceramides which I always appreciate. They definitely don't have as much as the liquid gold!
Kelly!! ❤️❤️❤️Love your detailed and thorough reviews on all products. I have been trying a lot of products that you recommend and they have been working really well for me. Thank you 😘 Would you recommend adding stratia fortify to liquid gold for night time use for dry, dehydrated but acne prone skin? I want to try stratia liquid gold as krave GBR did not work for my skin unfortunately.
Thank you! It's so good to hear that my recommendation have worked well for you! I've been using both in my routine with good success! I usually mix fortify with the Iunik beta glucan serum but I've heard lots of people do mix liquid gold and fortify directly! 💕
It’s very extremely hot and humid where I live, will a I be able to get away with the oiliness using the great barrier relief day and night? Would love to hear from anyone who has tried 🙏💕
If you're using it without an additional moisturizer Krave is pretty light! But I have normal-dry skin and live in a cold dry climate so I might not be the best person to give advice lol. I use the Krave at night with an additional moisturizer on top and it's helped my acne quite a bit!
Tried both and loved both as well! Great video btw, I’m a new subscriber. My skin is dry and prone to dehydration as well, do you have recommendations on good, thick, occlusive moisturizers? Thank you 😊
Hey, thanks for the sub!! I actually really love cerave moisturizing cream for those extra dry days and laneige cica sleeping mask is also a buttery and comforting dream!
Everyone was raving about Krave Beauty and I just had to purchase the Great Barrier Relief for my dry skin despite the price! I thought it was okay but I wasn't impressed. Love the texture and smell but unfortunately didn't notice any difference in my skin.
Hey Kelly love this video ❤️ i have stratia liquid gold and enjoying it,and looking forward to fortify ❤️ waana ask your barrier is completely healed up ? Please suggest good Hydrating Cleanser please ,i am in need of a good cleanser ,not a foaming one
Hey, glad to hear liquid gold is working well for you! Yes my barrier is healed up but I'm prone to dehydration and sensitivity so I find keeping barrier fortifying products in my routine really helps keep it healthy! My favorite hydrating cleanser right now is Krave Matcha Hemp, so gentle but still cleans well!
I need to repair my barrier, but I have very pale skin so I’m worried about the yellow tinting from liquid gold. Would these products still repair my barrier properly if I were to use GBR during the day and liquid gold at night?
Wait... What makes liquid gold golden? 😂 I'm looking for a cream or serum that mimics the moisturizing properties of earwax. Sounds crazy, I know, but I put my own earwax on a couple eczema patches on my inner elbow. The patches have healed about 80%. I'm flabbergasted. But I'm looking for a professionally made product that does the same thing without being *gross.* Like socially acceptable earwax. Golden ratio between ceramides cholesterol and fatty acids ?! 🤩 Ok I looked up the golden color. Sea buckthorn oil. Just a happy coincidence it looks like earwax lmao.
I have a question! I just order both of these and I’m currently using cerave pm, followed by just a bit of Clinique moisturizing lotion (cheeks only-that’s where my skin is damaged) and tamanu oil. I do want to eventually stop using the cerave because I don’t like the ingredient change they just did. How can I work one of these products into my routine? And what’s a good moisturizer for a damaged barrier but also rosacea skin?
Just in my own personal experience, the la roche posay toleriane line of moisturizers for sensitive skin works fantastic on my rosacea skin and I have the same situation where it's really just concentrated on the cheeks. Even when I have a flare up and seemingly everything can sting, they don't sting or aggravate. I use the Double Repair Face Moisturizer when I need a thick repairing moisturizer, and the Ultra Soothing Repair Cream for everyday and to go under make-up. I also use their Ultra Night Soothing Repair a few nights a week. These with Great Barrier Relief are a really nice combo for me. I haven't tried Liquid Gold but I recently got GBR and my skin seems to be loving it -- first time I tried anything with tamanu oil, wow!
volta1228 thank you so much for responding! Because I’ve actually been looking into the LRP toleriane line but I haven’t done it just because there’s an ingredient called “ammonium” and it makes me wonder if it’s harsh like ammonia? Lol idk
Parabens aren’t bad for you. Don’t give into the fear mongering “natural” side of the skincare community, we need preservatives in our products or else they’ll go bad.. yuck

Thank you for your informative review. Already subscribed :) and ordered stratia. Tks
Any recommendations specifically geared towards tretinoid treatment? I'm at 5/6 months, but my skin is constantly dry. Living in the dry hot California might not help. Any recs between GBR and LG?
What am I doing wrong? I've been using stratia for 3 weeks and i still have the oily and flakiness of a broken skin barrier :(
Do you top it off with an occlusive moisturizer?
What face wash are you using? Are you avoiding TEWL?
Great job on this review
Is the Inkey List Ceramide night treatment any good?
Wch lipstick r u wearing?? Nd cud u plz do a video on ur fav moisturizers/ products 4 winter??
Do you have to stop all exfoliating treatments forever? Or just until the barrier is fully repaired?
Start back slowly for sure

Can we use both one in evening and one in morning??
Yes, you could alternate them if you wanted to!
can you still use something like the dermological daily microfoliant (a few times a week) to help with texture issues/peeling under makeup while trying to restore your moisture barrier?
Did you put a moisturizer over these products?
I use a moisturizer over the GBR at night, if you have oilier skin it might be better to use them alone though.
Camelia P use sweet almond oil
Omg this is what I need😍
Everyone was raving about Krave Beauty and I just had to purchase the Great Barrier Relief for my dry skin despite the price! I thought it was okay but I wasn't impressed. Love the texture and smell but unfortunately didn't notice any difference in my skin.
Have you tried Paula's choice omega + serum?
I haven't had the opportunity to try any PC products yet, but would love to some day!
@@KellyDriscoll I'd be interested to hear your take on it. It has 5 different types of Ceramide's in it. PC is currently having a sale on it
That’s what I’m actually using, and really do enjoy it.
@@KellyDriscoll thank you so much ❤️
I need to repair my barrier, but I have very pale skin so I’m worried about the yellow tinting from liquid gold. Would these products still repair my barrier properly if I were to use GBR during the day and liquid gold at night?
You can definitely rotate the two, you'll still get good results!
Do you think I would get good results if I were to use only liquid gold only once a day at night?
Liquid gold sounds like it would be amazing but as a vegan, I’m afraid to ask the source of the cholesterol.
Ok I looked up the golden color. Sea buckthorn oil. Just a happy coincidence it looks like earwax lmao.
Krave beauty has not helped my skin but did made it more sensitive
Lol idk
Can you please review Primera from Amorepacific new at Sephora
I've got their miracle seed essence on my wishlist!
Stratia increased their price.. 27.00
Can I get both?😂
Would it be too much?😅
Can we both use at same time??? or first use stratia and after some mnths use krave???
I wouldn't recommend using both products in the same routine as it could easily be too rich for skin! You can certainly alternate them as you like!
Do you use Fortify with LG?
Yes, I've actually been mixing it straight into LG with good results! It's a rich combo so I often reserve it for night only!
Sending u ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤 from Malaysia 😘
Thank you!!! Sending love back! 💗
at my location I can't get my hand on any of those two XD
What about CeraVe PM vs Stratia Liquid Gold?
It doesn't have the same ceramide content as stratia!
@@KellyDriscoll Thank you! This has made me think twice about whether I should splurge on Stratia. 😅
So the Cerave wouldn't work as a barrier repair cream?
Which one of them is better for acne prone skin dear?
The Krave has 10% tamanu oil which some report can help with acne, both have high percentages of niacianamide.
Stratia breaks me out. I've tried it a few times with the same result. GBR does not, so for me it is actually better
I just got both lol
I started Invisalign, on the 2nd tray now. Happy so far. You might consider it for you as well
CrI wir
Stratia has parabens 🤦🏻♀️
That's not a problem, parabens are one of the safest preservatives..
Parabens aren’t bad for you. Don’t give into the fear mongering “natural” side of the skincare community, we need preservatives in our products or else they’ll go bad.. yuck
