      That is unbelievable. But still...if she would gain half a million subscribers over night, I would wish that nothing changed in the channel. That the videos would "feel" exactly like before, because I truly love what I see in her videos now... In some other youtubers' videos I get the feeling that they are holding back and not giving their all, which leaves a distance between the person and the audience. There is also another korean skincare enthusiast that has a similar "being close to audience" skill - James Welsh😊 Kelly and James are the fresher wave after Gothamista. And if I need to check further into science facts, I go to Lab Muffin Beauty Science or dr Dray. I am so glad that I have all these resources available to take care of my skin now!
      But to go back to the original question, it is truly weird how there aren't more subscribers in Kelly's channel... She makes amazing quality content with extensive background reseach and has (only) 4k subs, when some people are just making videos of how they eat junk food and make a living from it😳🤔🤦🏼‍♀️ But I have understood that many who are supporting themselves solely from youtube now, used to work free for years before they were able to get something out of it... For some there has been true cinderella stories where they changed from small or tiny channel to a big channel very suddenly over some hit video... We of course hope such a hit for Kelly too, so that she can keep on investing on products to review and to be able use her time to make videos for us!🙏🏻❤️

    I come back to this video time n time again, because i get caught up in all new products, all the time, when in fact i need to come back to the foundation:

    Question: What are your thoughts on jojoba oil? I find it to be quite balancing and seem to make pores less clogged.

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  5 років тому +2

      Thank you so much! Jojoba is a good, balanced oil that has some linoelic acid benefits and moisturizing oleic acid benefits. So it makes sense that it would have benefits for clogged pores! I've used many products with it (not straight jojoba yet) and have enjoyed them!

    Thank you for adding a warning for HA! Not enough people mention the side effects of using it in a dry enviornment. The first time i ever heard about HA it was recommended for use in the winter and I couldn't figure out why my skin still felt dry. 😂

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  5 років тому +3

      Yass! It's really important to me because I too used a lot of HA heavy stuff in the dry winter and my skin was soooo tight and dry it was crazy uncomfortable! Skylar Valdes I really like it. It’s a little on the thicker side consistency-wise, but it soaks into my skin very quickly. I apply it with my hands - I haven’t tried with a cotton pad yet. I wouldn’t say that I’ve seen overnight results from this on its own, but it does feel very soothing and hydrating, like you almost want to say, “ahh” after patting it in.

    Popping by to say your recommendations are really helping me! I am using Tretinoin and recently my skin has been highly irritated, prone to peeling, congested, & dehydrated. I got the Great Barrier Relief and have been using for 3 days with great results. My skin LOVES it and I’m already seeing improvement in my moisture barrier. I also just received the Keep Cool Bamboo Toner and the Beauty of Joseon moisturizer. I’ve only tried them this evening, but my face drank the toner up (3 layers!) and the moisture seemed to seal everything in nicely while having the coolest texture. New subscriber. I think I'd found the right person who is talking about my skin conditions. However, I think i do have dehydrated and clogged skin and damaged skin barrier as well. Im confused... So can you pls tell me which skincare routines & products should I do first - should it be from this video or from your the other video on how to heal damaged skin barrier? Id also believe what cause my skin condition worse is my age factor. I'm no longer young (49yr old now) and thinking of starting to use Retin/retinoid product (which I'd just learned recently from other youtuber beauties) for anti ageing purpose. So can I incorporate this active ingredient in your care routine?
    Sorry for writing so much,. Your help to me is greatly appreciated.

    Hey Kelly, I've been eyeing the Tiam vita b5 toner for quite a long time but it has two fermented ingredients. As far as I know anything fermented is a big no no for fungal acne. Looked into skincarisma and it says it's safe??? I'm a little confused lol. Is it safe for someone with fungal acne?

Right now I have an oil essence open but dont give it all the love even though I truly enjoy the product. Its the neogen dermalogy white truffle serum in oil drop, very light weight and leaves lovely nourishing feeling on the skin, will grab it more often and use it. Have a great day dear, xoxxo Mili

    I was wondering how do the keep calm bamboo toner and the ti'am vitaB5 toner compare in your opinion... how would you choose between the two depending on which parameters?

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  5 років тому +1

      Well the vita b5 is watery but it has a oil slip to it when you spread it making it feel a touch more nourishing/moisturizing on the skin. The keep cool is watery with no slip to it, traditional toner feeling. It is very deeply hydrating but it doesn't have that touch of moisture like the vita b5 does.

    Hi There!
    Dont know if I am going crazy, but I have notice my pores have enlarged lately special on my nose. I use to have dry skin ever since I started taking care of my skin the k beauty methods about a year ago it's been great!. Problem is now I started using vitamin C from purito and the inkey list retinol for about over a month, and my pores and nose sebum has increased 😔 any thoughts on this?

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  5 років тому

      Not really sure what's going on with your skin, but retinol can cause purging that gradually pulls out the gunk out of your pores, could be temporarily making them look bigger. Retinol usually tightens the pores but you really need to use it longer to see the benefits. As for increased oil production, it could be that your skin is getting dry/dehydrated from the retinol, try increasing your hydration and moisture to help your skin balance.

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  5 років тому

      One of the biggest signs of dehydration is that you still have a lot of oil on top of your face, classically dry skin is a lack of oil so you probably wouldn't have much sebum production if your skin was dry. That is one way to tell, you can still have flakey skin and be dehydrated.

    Not sure where to post this question but my skin has has a bad reaction to something which I can’t figure out. I tried out the Benton snail bee essence, along with their cacao serum and the cosrx Centella aqua soothing ampoule. The rash started on my neck and spread to my face. It has pretty much cleared up except that I now have dry bumpy texture on the face. I’m not sure how to treat it/calm it down. I’ve done separate tests of each product on my arms and back of my neck but so far the rash hasn’t reappeared so I have no idea which product caused the rash. Perhaps it was a combination? Anyways I’m wondering if you have any suggestions on how to get my skin smooth again and get rid of this dried out texture! It’s so frustrating - my skin was looking so good!!!

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  5 років тому +1

      That sucks! Not sure what happened but sounds like your skin needs some space to chill out and rebalance. I'd keep your routine simple and mild with lots of hydration and moisture. I wouldn't suggest using an exfoliators if it was an irritation because that could make things worse. Just let your irritation subside and hopefully your bumps will go down and skin will balance back!

    benzoyl peroxyde and azelaic acid are NOT beta-hydroxy acids. I'm not saying they don't work, of course, and you really made me want to look into azelaic acid. But they just don't fit the beta-hydroxy acid definition when you look at the chemistry, it does have the same groups of atoms.

    So while we hydrate and exfoliate is there a chance that in the process our skin will be at the worst stage,looking more dry,and the bumps more visible?

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  5 років тому

      It's not necessarily going to look or get worse, it's possible that if you haven't used much exfoliation in the past that you will have a purging process but if you begin to treat your skin with hydration and exfoliation it will improve! (and any time you start an exfoliation routine you will run the risk of a purging process, it's how exfoliation clears our skin!)
