That's my set up with Algorithms djay and I absolutely love it, glad they updated the program because at one point the controller was freezing up, even at a few gigs I did, since the upgrade it haven't froze up on me yet. Guess I will really find out this Saturday when I do this birthday party....fingers crossed! Dj JMAC

I bought the Mixon 8 back in August and initially I had sticking pads. After a firm rub around the edges they freed up and no issues since. I use exclusively with Djay Pro and have custom mapped. Now I can split stem so have instrumental on one deck and acapella on another. I have mapped pads to effect stems like in serato echo vocal, fill drums etc. I have mapped buttons to have acapella and instrumental similar to Rane four. Few other tweaks to my liking. Best of all worlds now, I took what I liked with serato, Rane four, flx 10 and implemented it. Very cool indeed. I did find the mirrored layout a bit weird at first but after a few weeks I have am cool with it. With djay pro 5.0 it’s a very powerful controller. The fluid beatgrids, stems sound very good and creative feature cross fader effects such as vocal swap, as you crossfade to half way the software changes outgoing to instrumental whilst incoming acapella, great for scratch djs. Love mine.
Edit: I’ve had to send mine back due to jog wheel sticking. Hopefully will get fixed.
Did it ever get sorted? The quality seems to be widely reported as terrible.
@@JD-pi2ce I had to send a 2nd unit back as had grounding issue. Really not great. I’m going for something else now. Pioneer Rev5.
@@jazzyjase123 Sadly, the unit has a fantastic design but seems to be a complete piece of trash in terms of implementation. I'll look elsewhere.
Although I truly love this controller - and agree that it’s by far the best with Algoriddim Djay - my second unit had to be RMA’d. Hopefully the third time is the charm, but in the mean time I picked up the Rane One (which has been flawless)…..also using it primarily with Algoriddim Djay….i will absolutely provide an update via this comment thread when I receive a (hopefully)functional unit…
I’m on my third as well it seems there is quality control issues
@@king_asia_baty455 I absolutely empathize….mine is currently at American Music Supply awaiting a tech to diagnose, confirm the obvious issues and (hopefully) repair/replace as necessary…considering I only paid $50 more for my Rane One, I’m a bit disappointed in Reloop. If this is resolved on point, I have plans to get two RP8000 (decks), as well as the Spin portable. I’ve currently got the Numark portable with an Innofader mini installed. C’mon Reloop, I’ve been showing y’all love since the Mixon 4. Tighten up (please and thanks). One love, Dougie/EveJobs/u4ia

Thanks for doing this. I have the unit, but needed a refresher on how the stems functions were utilized on this.
Great video. I've never used Serato; I don't have any plans to ever use it. I have been an Algoriddim user ever since the release of my previous controller the IDJ Pro, so I've only ever used iOS from my iPad to connect to a controller. I had to upgrade my iPad to be compatible with the new Algoriddim DJAY software and for more GB storage for the music, so I looked for the best controller I can find compatible with Algoriddim on iPad and I found it with the Mixon. I almost bought the Mixon 4, but I heard that there were certain technological problems with it and the Mixon 8 had just released, so I splurged the extra cash to get a Mixon 8. I thoroughly enjoy using it but I know I haven't even scratched the surface of utilizing all its capabilities. You've shown me a thing or two I didn't know about it from your video alone.
Great controller but had to send mine bk , hardware fault , gettin a replacement tho. nice review 🎧👌
They should just upgrade this and add dedicated stem buttons or total kill buttons next to EQ knobs like how Traktor X1 MK3 does, include hardware unlock for Djay Pro like Mixtour Pro, design something a bit futuristic, and call it “Mixon 8 Pro Plus or Mixon 9".
I believe it will sell like hot cake.
The eq knobs and the pads both work for neural mix natively on DJay Pro and the pads are on Serato. They work really well but one of the biggest reasons I use DJay pro is because of how smooth (or crazy) of a mix you can get with stems being on knobs instead of on/off. The look on people's faces when you do an on-the-fly mashup of totally disparate songs is priceless.

just received my replacement Mixon 8.. its a great controller and a lot of fun. I returned mine due to one pad on left hand side. within the bank of 8 wasn't registering, but fair play to Reloop, they got me a new one sent from Germany back to the UK. Yes you heard right "ITS GERMAN MADE". thou assembled in china. but its a solid piece of kit up there with the others but affordable. yep some of you have your own preferences and it works or doesn't for you. Mine is solely in studio for playing, streaming and having some fun. Enjoy
I possibly have the same issue with one of the pads. So far I thought it was a software issue because I'm using it with VDJ and it only occurs after a while into the session. The colour of the third button (blue), when in the cue bank, quits after a while. The same button works flawlessly in the other pad banks. A restart of the controller solves it but this is of course not possible, mid-set.

@@MOOOV-EventServices hi, yep mine was an internal/hardware button issue. They sent me a new one but not opened it yet. Contact them or the place where you bought it from. They may be able to resolve it first..
I love mine but let them know with serato you'll have update the firmware
