So Tillotson 212 with stage 1 has governor removal. I thought the rule of thumb was a billet flywheel and rod for governor removal. Thats the sole reason i havent removed my governor yet. Waiting to upgrade to stage 2 kit
have one in the cart was waiting to decide between that and the predator

THe tillotson blows away the predator stock in torque and seat of the pants feel. Has to be head design because the shortblock is same as any other 212 stroke, compression, bore, cam lift. if you get one however, order the valvespring kit from GPS for those because most of them will have early rpm valve float on the intake valve. remove the governor, stick a mild cam while your i there, bolt on a $40 mikuni pre jetted for GPS, better exhaust, and hold on!! They rip!

@@partsandrecreation I forgot to add an 8 degree timing key. that cheaply brings timing up to around 32ish degrees. none of these upgrades are needed to make good power, although for a cuple hundred bucks, massive difference! However even stock with governor removed they run hard! There are many decent cams out there for $50 that will add tons of power and torque. banzai 265, the rattlesnake 252 is pretty impressive also!
Video says 212 stage 1 is 9.5hp. Your website and guys at your store says they dynoed stock 212 with governor and its 9 plus hp out of box. There's wrong info somewhere. I was also told that 212 stock with governor removed stage 1 was 11.5 hp. Is everyone just guessing the HP on this engine so people will buy it?
Im waiting on a answer for this as well. I just bought one for my bday in december under the pretense that it was 9hp out of the box
Yeah, nobody actually dynos them, everyone just guesses random numbers, although you can check the GPS website that says stage 2 Tilly 212 makes 15.8 horsepower. That's the only actual result I've seen.
What motor do you recommend for long distance riding and 40+ hp?

I love you guys but this video was terrible. The info that's covered is obvious based on looking at the picture online...why wouldn't you cover the specs? Flywheel is supposed to be better than the predator is it not? Supposed to have increased valve springs in standard form is it not? Do we not know what a spark plug removal tool is? What the heck did I just watch?

I have a 212 predator that makes about 15hp what could I do to make it run about 20 or 25hp?
