Probably a personal preference. An 18 x 50” drawer is a big drawer though and maybe wants it for strength because of it size. On smaller drawers I do use 1/2” pre-finished plywood.

Do you leave the edges once they are sanded or do you coat them with something to match the prefinished sides?

i bought the pulendy pl42 sprayer when i tilt the sprayer down with water in the cup it leaks is that normal have not tryed paint yet

Great looking drawer! I will admit...I am a bit of a safety sally...watching you not use any type of push block or stick made my skin crawl. ;-)
