I clean mine regularly with a soft tooth brush and dove soap whilst I'm showering, to clear off any salt build up and general grime. Even add a few drops of wd40 to screws and straps. Regularly polish the stainless backplate and my watches all look brand new. "Reading glasses" cleaner brings the face back to 'beading' and looking bright again. I love my kit in good nick. Thanks for the comment Stephen, yes I need to take care of my G-Shocks better in terms of keeping them clean. My Mudman is literally caked in salt from seawater swimming. I just get so comfortable with them putting up with any conditions that I neglect to give them a good clean regularly. You've prompted me to sort that out. Cheers mate!
Just purchased this exact watch. The stealth black is really cool and actually not hard to read. This particular model is very versatile, the dial looks like a basic analog watch
Yep, agreed Sir. It’s a classy, versatile and strong piece of kit. I wore my skeleton version non-stop over the Christmas break including outdoor activities. Held up really well.
I want to get Casioak with white hands and indices. I can get the blacked out one like yours, but I will wait for black and white one. Want to wear it with smart casual clothes for work.
I was scared to do anything with mine because it seemed like it would let water in as the rubber really has "deformed" but I recently found out that it's just a case, the actual clock is inside that and the case can be customized to metal or anything you want! My first wrist watch ever and I'm in love with it (just slightly disappointed the rubber deformed)!
I love my Casioak S2100 1A Mini! It is slightly smaller than the 2100 Casioak. I like this slender watch when I am working in the shop as it's profile is smaller and is more out of the way. I just went swimming with grandson with it on. No worries. They ARE tough! Great investment for $99!!!
Excellent to hear Ken, thanks for letting me know. They are superb watches. I swim with my GA-2100 regularly. As you say because they are small and slimline they don't get in the way. I hardly notice I'm wearing mine to be honest. Thanks for the comment good Sir!
I do the same sauna to snow -cycle with my G5600E regularly and it's doing fine. The only thing it hasn't liked is overnighting in -10 - -20 celsius as the screen blanks over, and the solar charging doesn't work so well in the Finnish winter as there's not much Sol to be seen. Seeing whether a non-solar Mudman will last the winter better this year :)
Interesting comment Aleksi. Sounds like you get brutally cold weather... I would be tempted to say the Mudman may be a little more resilient to cold that the 5600 simply because it's more insulated. Of course the Mudman is also tough solar. The GG-B100 Mudmaster is non-solar and may be one worth considering. The solar shouldn't require too much exposure to light to charge but if you have very short days I see it could be a challenge. I'd look into a G-9300 Mudman personally. Cheers!
@@stormrider1119 Nope, the other way around. The G-9000 Mudman specifically lists a low temp lcd and is non-solar. Solar models don't have low-temp lcds. My G5600E is solar.
We get as low as -30 celsius sometimes and -20 most winters, but I'm not mad enough to go camping then. 🤣 We do go to work in those temps but I'm choosing interior work then 😁
Unfortunately salt will degrade materials over time so it’s best to snack it in your bathroom basin a few times and run the tap over it after being in the sea. I know this after seeing my scuba gear deterioate over time!
No warping or any issues. I think just a trick of the light. The watch is still perfect after many many excursions like this :) I now own seven GA-2100 /2100 which is testement to the fact they are superb in my opinion. Thanks for the comment.
Enjoying your videos on the Triple Black. I might have to buy a second now on your recommendation! Casio make great watches. My work beater watch is a £20 casio world time 10 Yr battery. Looks like a G Shock but not labeled as one. Been knocked n bashed about but just keeps on going. I ve got a couple of more expensive blingy watches but, my tastes have changed now to the tough function over fashion ones. Casio does it best and the Casioak looks 👌
My tastes changed in exactly the same way, most due to frustration with maintenance requirements and the fact I want to wear a watch which I can keep on my wrist whatever I'm doing. I don't regret having a second blackout at all, the new one is tucked away safely for the future ;) and Cheers!
Thank you!! Because of this video i wore my pink 9300 and red 2100 today and fell in love with both of them all over again. Why did they stop releasing new colourways for the ga2100?? I need a pink one damnit!!!
Glad it helped reinvigorate your love of those two classics. I will never tire of my G-9300. I'm impressed you have a pink one, that's a rare beast surely?! I've only seen a couple of photos of those, would love to pick one up. The GA-2100 colour ways are a good point, it seems they have narrowed the colour options on the re-releases. It is likely they will bring out new and different ones as the model is already a legend in its own right even though its only about 2 years old. There is a pink/white/purple one you may be interested in. I also like the yellow and black one, looks really bold and suits the shape. Thanks for watching, cheers!

Guys the new metal series b2100. Does the steel watch face get scratch marks easily? And if it’s dark grey finish. Will the finish come off with scratches
Good report. Question - did you ever apply sun tan lotion on the glass or the black resin on any of your watches by mistake? I wonder how the sun tan lotion affected the finish. I've applied ST lotion by mistake on my old Times and the finish was ruined. Thanks for replying back.
Thanks for the comment and question. I have definitely used sun tan lotion across this watch on the strap, load of times on my Mudman and Mudmaster (GWG-1000 and GG-B100) and heve never noticed a deleterious or bad effect of any type. Yes it looks a bit grimy and needs a good wash with soap to get off but zero long lasting damage in my experience. Maybe the Times material is different? I think if you own a G-Shock they are designed with such scenarios in mind. Cheers!
StormRider - Thanks for the quick reply. I do own three GShocks. Just never really near sun tan lotion because I was afraid to ruin the glass and resin. Thanks.
@@ibrazeau3044 you are welcome. On my GWG-1000 and G-9300 damage report you can see the effects of years of application of sun tan lotion etc. Just give them a good clean from time to time.
Hey, can the buttons be pressed under water? I mean the manual says not to but that's just the basic casio guidelines and it also tells not to take in in sauna's hot baths etc. Do you think it'd be fine if operated under water?
Good question. With the GA-2100 I would avoid it. With my Mudman and Rangeman I do it regularly with no issues although I'm guess it's not recommended.
@@stormrider1119 I did a bit digging around and I believe the models like rangeman and mudman, mudmaster etc. have a inner compartment which takes in some water and those usually come out (I saw in a youtube video). So I have not heard any such reports personally. You can see in my video I take it in the sauna and cold plunge and have no issues. Obviously that's just my personal experience. I've never had such an experience with any Gshock. Hope that helps.
So you mean water in the body of the bezel, not behind the face right? I haven't seen that but it's water resistant so can't imagine it will cause any technical problems. Best to let if air in a well ventilated environment. And definitely if you think it's unusual or looks iffy take it to a Casio dealer for their expert opinion. I personally wouldn't be too worried though... Cheers.
