I actually love the fact that it was from athletes from diffrent countries! It makes it that much more special!
0:29 0:42
It actually isnt. They are both from Jamaica.
DAS parents
Jamaican from Maroon town.
JA went to high school Jamaica ( edwin Allen)
So its Jamaica to the world still
Me too!!!
A world record is a world record 👏🏿.
Am not gonna lie it was a great relay.well done.💪💪
dina is back fr she putting gb on the map this year believe that
So annoying that it's not an "Official WR" cos they're all from different countries :( Having said that, a 4x200m race between the USA (Gabby, Abby, Sha'Carri & Tamara Clark) & JAM (Shericka, Elaine, Shelly & Lanae Thomas) would be a great race! A US Men's 4x200m Team of Lyles, Knighton, Bednarek & Norman would be ridiculous!
It was already over after the first leg 💀
I'm hoping this means Dina's pre 2022 finish is back. The past two seasons from 50-100 it's not been there. If it is there, combined with her improved start she has to be looking at 10.7 min (I'm sure she wants 10.6 though as she's aiming for gold). To me it looks like in the 4x4 she had better endurance than Alfred which took me by surprise.
@dya101992 i think the main reason last year her finish wasn't there was here stride as she tapered. She increased her turnover but lost a lot of stride length mid season. This season so far you can see the work has gone into 6 that stride length. Her times will drop significantly if she can increase her turnover and keep her stride length. 10.7 low should be the minimum for her in this superspike era. Her 10.83 was pre-super spike and when she was carrying injuries, and her 200m PB was in doha where there were 0 rest days for 100m/200m double. If she can get on top of her top end speed then her potential is scary
@ffvgaming3735 but I don't even think her finish was really there in 2022. Look at Birmingham DL 100m, national champs 100m, eugene DL 100m and Euros 200m. That season the start was consistently great but finish was poorer than normal. The only time she had a finish was during world's. Good to hear her say on citius mag she wants to win the Olympics meaning she thinks she can go 10.6 + maybe. Agree with you on her PBs being misleading. Ta lou has gone 10.72 in the past few years and dina hasn't but dina was always beating her in 2019 and 21.
@@dya101992 agreed, in 2022 she hit 39 km/h at eugene only. I think she put on a lot of muscle after 2019, and it takes time to be able to translate that to the track. This is going to be a historic season imo
@ffvgaming3735 I'm feeling the same mate but I've been feeling the same every season since 2021 and it hasn't materialised.
I love it when i think im gonna watch a race and actually watch a race! No clickbait preview this time!
Alfred 20.8 split unofficially (ties Marion Jones as fastest ever (2000 Penn Relays 1:27.46)
I love your content. Your commentary is helpful and entertaining!
Julien Alfred looks impressive for this season. I can see her being right up there in the mix at the Olympics for the 100 and 200m
julien is such a beast, man. a workhorse. dina is well and truly back!
I have always wanted there to be an "honorary" 4x100 and 4x400 at the end of each Olympic or World Championship composed of the top 4 runners in the event. Even if not for world record, you can start a new list. Fun!
Pure knowledge on this youtube! Keep it up
the fact that they put down a wr done partly by marion jones is symbolic to say the least
Do a video on the 4x100 adidas just ran at the Florida relays! #10 time all time. Knighton ran something crazy, and Grant and Fahnbulleh looked insane too
I just saw the race, it would’ve been between Fanbulleh vs Noah Lyles on the anchor but Lyles and/or his teammate messed up on the exchange which meant they couldn’t finish. I think it would’ve been close between them but Lyles would’ve won imo.
lyles team would have ran 37 flat ngl@@AthleticsEditz
@@noelmaldonado559 Probably not 37 flat considering the world record is 36.84, and Lyles top end speed isn’t 0.67 seconds faster than Fanbulleh’s over 100m but it probably would’ve been close, if not under, 37.50.
Give them girls their flowers because that was legendary athletics
From England 🏴 to the world 🌎 no one can beat the beautiful phenomenal and extraordinary ✨️ Dina Asher Smith.
Yo! Lanae went to my school and she holds virtually all our records at rush henrietta
Please do a video on Discus!
I didn't even know 4x200 was a thing. Sounds like a pretty interesting discipline though.
I find 200m to be the most interesting running distance. Maybe because it wzs my best distance back when I ran, maybe because it's actually the fastest one (well, it should be anyway).
it's ran in high School a lot.... Ironically, I tore my hamstring in the 4x200 my junior year of highschool
Mostly high school
It isn't an Olympic event. The Relays (officially, are 4x100m, 4 x 400m).
Not a thing.
@@steve-from-toronto it is a thing..
crazy how big a gap 4 seconds is
I was there.
There have been a few other multi-national relay record world bests set in the past. There was a 4x100 run by USC in about 1990(?) that was 0.10 under the official record, and a 4x400 run in another NCAA meet back in the 1980s.
They should do a 100-200-400m race to!
There is, the Sprint Medley relay. IIRC 100,100, 200, 400.
Ran with Lanae in HS. Girl is dumb quick. Glad she was the one to break that record
I didn't even know this distance existed ! Great relay anyways
Bro you gotta cover carifta 51
I agree it’s weird that it’s not called a world record, but think about it: if you wanna count it as a WR, whom do you give it to? You can’t give it to one country since they’re not all from the same one. I suppose you could give it to club teams but people move around all the time so there could be double counting involved and much more confusion. Please reply if you think I’m wrong :)
Imagine combining the fastest 4 women in a 4x100,
You know what, after thinking about it. I think you're right. It's not like runners from the same country are particularly connected either, i.e. they probably didn't train together or anything. And other than everyone needing to be decent at baton passing, there's nothing to really suggest that compatibility of the runners is that important. So it's all just a big national pride wankery at the end of day. So yeah why not let any team that gets the fastest time take the official record.
So if this was a college team with international athletes, would it count, since they would not all be from the same country?
Daang
Relaxed - yes.
Technically adept - yes.
Effortless - ? 😂
What time do you estimate team Jamaica can set ?
Not the most important WR but we take it ahha
🤍🖤💜1️⃣🎉
technically clickbait because it was a team that set the best not just Julien and Dina
Clickbait insinuates that false information was provided. The information wasn't false, just that information was left out, therefore it wasn't technically clickbait.
@@forrestgump3909 I mean I agreed woth what you said. I had the terminology wrong. So what's the word of titles or fuckin uh Thumbnails that make you click on them but not bait?
@forrestgump3909 100% clickbait since this isn't a world record.
avg split of 21.75
Not a world record. Misleading "click bait" title.
Dumbest rule in T&F is that all athletes have to be from the same country for a WR.
Record is going to get broken by the US team in Bahamas. Mark my words.
Yes. This will be the REAL World Record.
It may be the world leading time. But it is not a world record. All athletes must be from the same country for that to be the reality.
Umm… he clearly stated that in the video mang
I think he already mentioned that.
Easy to world record in an event that is never run
The 4 X 200 is run every year in relays and other meets so your comment that it is "never run" is totally false!! You obviously don't follow track much.
Not a world record! All runners have to be from the same country to be a world record!
Yes, he explained that.
Well we all know the mans 4x200m gonna be broken by USA
Knighton
Lyles
Bednarek
Maybe...Lindsey
Would take Norman at his 19.70 best over Lindsey in that lineup!
200 record may fall soon
4 x 200m isn't a proper event.
You need more video, you repeat too frequently.
