just FYI I think there's an issue with the Audio , cutting out. Might have been your mic unfortunately.
@@jimmyp1433 Thanks, if you rewatch from the start of the drive section, I made a note of the audio issues
Talk about a real experience video, hey? Thank you. I'll be sharing it with my brother who is a Subaru person. 🙂
Great job with the subtitles.
Thanks! Can’t control everything in life unfortunately re: audio issues 😭
No wonder Toyota has been trying to slow down EV adoption. Their EV tech (used on this car) is way behind and too expensive. And cloth seats for $75,000. Classy.
Yes a few questionable choices for the price 🤔
Ooh! Knobs and buttons and a screen behind the steering wheel. Old people will love it!
Age is but a number 😁
I am looking forward to the review of the Mazda variant of this model, followed by the Honda model shortly after 😅. Mybe Suzuki can use it for their EV too. Like Japans version of hot-potato but an EV.
I suppose it’s more efficient this way? 😅
Interesting offering from Subaru. But the pricing says, "Don't even think about it"
It’s currently priced quite steep along with the Toyota bZ4X
think Zeekr X will wipe the floor with Solterra and Bz4x
Can't wait to check it out soon!
Nice car, don’t like the black plastic around the front / rear wheel arches though.
Yeah that’s an acquired taste for sure
Great video. Total rubbish from Subaru and Toyota. Overpriced by $20,000
A lot can be forgiven at the right price point. We'll see if there are any discounts ...
I wish I'd spent the extra 20k it's so much more car than my BYD, insert sarcasm here
Toyota must have trademarked that grey colour anytime I see that colour instantly think of Toyota. Reminds of Red Dwarf when Rimmer has the Skutters repaint the ship from/to Military Grey/Ocean Grey. I think your reviews are as similar quality as any automotive journalist and you've had alot of experience reviewing various cars all EV's as well...I prefer your reviews over journo's as I find a number of them have a bent against EV's and feels like they purposely give poor ratings on any EV review they do vs an ICE review....you are totally transparent keep up the great work. Looking forward to your videos from China with Riz and Elliot(of course) :) A few small audio problems on your drive portion from the sound of things hope your mic is ok especially as your about to head off to China.
Thank you for your kind words, I have a warm fuzzy feeling now 😄
Cannot wait for our China trip! The mic is a one off issue ... I have backups in case 👍
Ah yes, I now recall my '98 Camry Vienta.
The square steering wheel is a big no, as is the excessive piano-black plastics, but the seats look good. a bit too expensive for the range though.
Yeah agreed, a lot can be forgiven at the right price point
Great review. Can tell Subaru reluctantly want their ev to succeed. No competitive advantage in the world of ev. Allowed 2 DC charge per day????? Anti road trip then….Lots of button from Subaru as always ( like an aeroplane)
Hopefully v2 of this platform will be an improvement
Is it just me or is the audio cutting in and out on this video?
Yes I noted it at the start of the test drive section
This car just doesn't make sense in Subaru's lineup. It's not even a Subaru anyway. Also it's not just a Marketing thing Re' Subaru in general. They're genuinely quite rugged cars that will actually do mild off-roading well. unlike most other crossover type vehicles that are mostly just show and no substance. But the other thing they're known for is road tripping cars, Tourers , so the limitations this platform has in efficiency and charging limits that would just make any sort of long distance a PITA, just further make no sense for the brand. It was a mistake to bother launching it (IMO)
Let's hope more thought is put into the next iteration of this platform
for 75k i think it is overpriced
Seems to be the consensus
@@LudicrousFeed yep its a hit and a big miss from Subaru.
Also unrelated how do ev incentives work? Are they built into the drive away price is it something you have to apply for secondarily ?
@@robanzzz5124 It depends state to state. In QLD, you submit an application to claim the rebate post-purchase
@@LudicrousFeed how does it work for Tasmania ?
