thanks for your feedback, right now there is not a complete list of which skates are heat moldable and which are not. but on our website and in every good shops info texts about each product there should always be the information if the product is heat moldable or not. tau skates right now are not heat moldable due to their special production with compression molded carbon. swell, kaze, v. and lots of others are heat moldable. plastic hard boots like the imperial skates and the next skates are not heat moldable, but do come with heat moldable liners from myfit.
you can try to felx the shell at the pressure points, but we as powerslide would not recommend that, as it weakens the plastic of the boot and might mess with its lifetime and stability. lots of times different insoles, arch supports and heat molding the myfit liners can work wonders, too.

thanks for the feedback. glad you like them! for heat molding: this is only an option if you tend to have pressure points and want to get a better fit. if your skates fit nicely, there is no need to heat mold them. for sizing, we always recommend the sizing chart on our product pages. in case of two different size feet, we recommend going with the bigger size, so in your case, try size EU 44 with a length of 285mm for a good fitting skate feeling.

@@miriammosca1683 I ended up returning them, and getting FR1s, along with some of my friends. FRX/FR1 seems to fit most people's feet better than any other skates. There's some good videos on UA-cam about buying a heat gun and doing heat molding (on skates that aren't even designed for it), but usually it's to push out pressure points around the ankle, rather than the end of the boot.

Just received my powerslide swell ultra white trinity 110 tri skates. Straight from the box, I’d classify fit as snug, Having “pressure points” on my inner ankle bones unfortunately. Also, if I’m experiencing signifant pressure on these areas, how thick should I fold relief shims? THANKS, The engineering, attention to detail on every material part, build of this skate is impressive, I want my damn boots to FEEL good!
hi! thanks for your feedback and sorry to read about your fitting problems. yes, heat molding in a conventional oven will do just fine, just make sure the boots do not touch the sides of the oven. thickness can be applied in multiple tries to test and find out how much your feet actually need. we would recommend starting with something minimal like 2-3mm and check if it already helped. pressure points can also come up for several factors: have you tried a different frame placement? rockering the frames to the outside if you tend to fall to the outside and vice versa can help a lot! also experimenting with differnet insoles/foot supports/arch supports/no insoles at all / only heel 2/3rds insoles can do the trick for some.
yes to both questions. the reign triton hockey inline skates can also be heat molded at 80-90°C. All Trinity frames fit perfectly to all Trinity mounting equipped skates, like the Kaze or many others.
This could help the fit in case of feet with half size? I explain: my feet are EU38,5 in the largest part but EU37 in lenght, so I bought a EU39 in order to have enough room on the inside-sides of the skates, where it always hurt my little fingers, but on the other hand there is a little too much space in the lenght. If I heat mold my skates (phuzion trinity xenon woman) this can help to improve the fitting?
Can you also put the liners on their side if your oven is not tall enough? I also heard something about microwave ovens. I have a combi manchine that can function as a microwave and an oven, so I assume I can use for heat molding. Is my assumption correct?
Can this be done with the 3d Adapt Models? They felt very comfortable when I tried them on but when I started skating I realized that I had pressure points on the outside sides of my feet- I guess due to the narrowness of the boot.
How do you keep the base with the wheels attachment from miss aligning during this process, or is the base a different material so the wheel frame wont sink into the shoe or something like that?
It says on your website it is not... :/ I am having quite big issues on the outside of my foot, before the little toe, and it does not seem to stop.. now I am swollen on that area :/ and I have had the skates for over 1 month now... So I hope you can help me here..
just received my size 12 swell tri blacks and they are too tight and too slim so should I do this to make them work with thick socks or return them? Will they not take them back if this is done?
sorry to hear that. if they are slightly too short / too tight, heat molding is an option. but it can only help with some mm's, it will not magically generate one complete size. please also check our sizing charts on the swell product pages with exact mm measurements.
the phuzion skates are not heat moldable. as myfit is our brand for all fitting parts, yes, the innersole is made by myfit, which means in this case it's anatomically correct and provides support to your foot bed where its needed. but the overall skate is not heat moldable.
I've had a pair of Powerslide Swell's for about a year now, and I've only ridden them three times indoors. I thought they'd break in over time but they're still painful to ride even after heat molding them twice. Am I stuck with them?
sorry to hear that. it is a tough question to answer, as everyone in the world has different feet and tehre is nothing like a universal fit to every person. besides heat molding, there are still numerous way to change the fit of your swell skates if you exprience fitting issues with pressure points. besides heat molding and pushing the painful part carefully to the outside, you can also: experiment with frame placement. depending if you tend to fall to the inside with your ankle (x legs), you can mount the frame more on the inside of your skates, or vice versa with bow leg stand, you can put your frames to the outside. neoprene footies / foot covers are often used to put more padding in parts of your foot where it might be needed and can work wonders. taking out the insole or replacing the insole with a different one can change the fit a lot. orthopedic insoles work also, if your feet / legs need for example more arch support. we also offer the myfit arch support that can be put in underneath or instead of an innersole to prevent your fweet from falling to the inside. thin socks can also help to create a little more room inside your skates... we really hope that one or multiple of these techniques help you out, so you can enjoy your swell skates!
Even when in "skating position" my heel still has a little bit of give, can lift it by half a centimeter or so, it doesn't get locked, so it's impossible to be confident, the rest of the skate is pretty fine now (after a bit of breaking in) How would I go about heatmolding the boot to make it tighter on the heel area? Thanks
Hi, making a heel counter of a plastic shell tighter is almost impossible. I would recommend to use one of the MYFIT footies with extra heel lock (art. no. 908287 if you want to check with your favorite shop). The footies are made of 2mm thick neoprene material made in Japan and include some padding for heel lock. The footies will fill the space in your boots and prevent your foot from blisters. I hope this information is helpful for you.
@@PowerslideInlineskates thanks for the reply. Bought a pair for my girlfriend a couple months back, had to tear them with scissors almost completely for them to fit. The sizes are really skewed. They did their job, though.
Thank you for this video. Can I apply the same instructions to heat mould the Swell Nite 125? ie same temperature / times, only remove the wheels? Thank you
usually it is the opposite. but if you heat mold your skates and tight them upper really tight and put pressure from the outside on the areas that are too big / too wide for your foot, it should work fine, too!
Sehr gut!
We don't really push it for the swell anymore, since it has a pretty low impact on the fit, it does help, but not a ton. We are fairly confident that a correct heatmolding wont break the skate, so much so that heatmolding doesn't void the warranty on the skate nor does it impact your ability to return the skate. - Kasper
the older r4 shells are not heat moldable, but the 2018 r4 shells, which do come with trinity mounting, are also heat moldable the same way the swell skates are

taking out the insole or replacing the insole with a different one can change the fit a lot. orthopedic insoles work also, if your feet / legs need for example more arch support.
we also offer the myfit arch support that can be put in underneath or instead of an innersole to prevent your fweet from falling to the inside.
thin socks can also help to create a little more room inside your skates...
we really hope that one or multiple of these techniques help you out, so you can enjoy your swell skates!
Even when in "skating position" my heel still has a little bit of give, can lift it by half a centimeter or so, it doesn't get locked, so it's impossible to be confident, the rest of the skate is pretty fine now (after a bit of breaking in)
How would I go about heatmolding the boot to make it tighter on the heel area?
Thanks
Hi,
making a heel counter of a plastic shell tighter is almost impossible.
No wonder all powerslide skates are narrow fit because they are based on Mathias and Scott narrow feets
Would heat molding my swells, which are too big (long and wide) help? Or does it only make sense for pressure points?
That - unfortunately - would indicate that you have the incorrect size. There's not much heat molding can do about that :/
Does this go for the new swell with 3d adapt padding?
3d adapt padding can t be heatmold
Thank you for this video. Can I apply the same instructions to heat mould the Swell Nite 125? ie same temperature / times, only remove the wheels? Thank you
yes , exactly
Hello, is it possible through heat molding to mold a boot that is a tad too large?
usually it is the opposite. but if you heat mold your skates and tight them upper really tight and put pressure from the outside on the areas that are too big / too wide for your foot, it should work fine, too!
Do these run show size accurate or should I buy a smaller size?
it would depend of the model. WE have 5 different fit style at powerslide
you can find lot of cool information there

Hiya Powerslide, is it true the Swells fit narrow feet only?
We have 5 differents FIT fr mnarrow to wide: ultimate, performance, sportive, comfort , universal. SWELL is comfort.
@@PowerslideInlineskates Thanks for the reply. Strange, because then people with wider feet who could be highly athletic can't use the top lines...?
Swell Road also heat moldable?
yes it is.
Can i do the same with the Powerslide Next Pro Black 110
Hi only with the liner which is myfit 80°C...but sure not with the boot
Radium white 100mm can be moldeable?
This is possible for PS SWELL lite ?

Should I remove my shoelaces and cuff if I put it in the oven?
no, you can leave both on.
i have the 2017 Swell trinity model. Can I heat mold it?
yes, you can!
@@PowerslideInlineskates not sure, but think I have the 2016 model. Are these also heat mouldable is the way that is shown in de video?
@@sjaakve unsure, as we started using heat moldable materials with our 2017 swell collection.
@@PowerslideInlineskates ah, good thing I refrained from trying.
Any way you could make sure?
@@sjaakve sure, we can look into it. which model is it exactly?
Sehr gut!
Can I heat the skate using the hair dryer?
heat molding with a hair dryer is possible, but can damage the material easily if not done 100% correctly. we recommend the method shown above.
In fact, the shoe can only be changed slightly by heat molding. It's more likely to break it.
We don't really push it for the swell anymore, since it has a pretty low impact on the fit, it does help, but not a ton. We are fairly confident that a correct heatmolding wont break the skate, so much so that heatmolding doesn't void the warranty on the skate nor does it impact your ability to return the skate.

Can this also work with an r4?
the older r4 shells are not heat moldable, but the 2018 r4 shells, which do come with trinity mounting, are also heat moldable the same way the swell skates are
Those are the ones I got! Might have to try this to tame the arches on my r4 and kaze...hopefullyit works as it’s been a hell of a year trying to find skates that fit

Is this the same process for the next? *Edit: I see, next is not heat moldable.
no, the next skates can not be heat molded. the next do come with myfit liners, which are heat moldable. have a look at our latest tutorial about heat molding your skate liners: ua-cam.com/video/1dTrYcXiBJI/v-deo.html
Is it Marty Mc Fly?
Can I heat mold the white Swell Road 125’s with the air pump in the back? I have excruciating pain in my ankle from the lower shell plastic digging into my bone. I was only able to skate in them one time and then this pain started from the plastic.
Hi, No we do not recommend this as the air pocket is heat sensitive.
Hi there, I´m really worried about my new Swell... I have a lot of pain in the inside ankle bone because of the hard plastic. Will the hard plastic really mold with tjis process or is it just for the soft boot? I tried the heating process with a hair dryer but I don´t see difference.... Somebody could help me on this? I´m really desapointed for now with these rollers... Thanks.
I have the same problem 😪
I used the method shown in the video & relieved the excruciating pain I was having on my left inner ankle bone! I have the Kaze. Thank you, Powerslide!!
Can this POWERSLIDE SWELL KAKI 3X125 be thermoformed?
