Good sleep:
7-8 hours of undisturbed sleep/night
Going to bed early and getting up early

No excessive daytime somnolence
When to Sleep:
Same time everyday. And that varies with different people and it’s normal.
Don’t sleep for more than 30 mins during the day
How to Sleep:
On the side
Never on back
First left side for half an hour and then the right side
Sleeping on the sides rather than on your back helps in getting good quality sleep especially if you are overweight/obese or snore.
Use of #cpaptherapy #cpap #bipap in patients with #osa helps in preventing cardiovascular mortality and morbidity
What to do before sleep:
Take a #lightdinner . And take your dinner as a “pauper” - the lightest #diet of the day.
Sleep 2-2.5 hours after dinner, never immediately
Take a #stroll for 10-15 mins in your house only
Don’t take water after dinner
Empty your #bladder just before sleeping
Foods to Take to get good sleep:
#almonds #walnut #pistachio #cashew #milk #rice #kiwi #banana . Mainly because these contain good amount of #melatonin . Also #tryptophan & #magnesium
Foods to avoid before sleep:
#coffee
#Stimulants in #colddrink
#alcoholicdrinks

Sleep in the Elderly:
The #elderly often have a #brokensleep & need to get checked for #prostateenlargement #prostateproblems
