you can buy any camera you want but make sure the volt is correct
This backup camera kit is designed for Toyota Camry 2012-2014 SE/XLE, simple plug and play without cutting factory wires.
Custom designed 6 volt camera working voltage to work with TOYOTA 6 volt radio output voltage. If you are using the power from the radio, the camera is supposed to be 6V. If you are using the battery source the camera needs to be 12v camera

As per installation instructions: Camera Must Have Power Before The Vehicle Is Placed Into Reverse, So Using The Reverse Lamp Power Source Is Not An Option. Awesome Video, I even saw your other video. Very nice effort. Appreciate it.

@@Techgeniusideas But I'm still wondering why does Camera needs to be pre activated when the car is put into R gear. Also there should be a Reverse Sense wire with the existing car system. Did you found the that wire in car's wiring harness??
I HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM: I START THE CAR AND PUT IN REVERSE, THE PASSENGER HEATED SEAT EXPLODED SENDING MY MOTHER-IN-LAW FLYING TO THE AIR. IT IS O.K. BECAUSE SHE HATE ME. SHE IS IN HOSPITAL IN CRITICAL CONDITION NOT EXPECTED TO SURVIVE INJURIES. THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME GET RID OF HER!

There could be a few problems but the main problem is that when you start the car, car needs to recognize everything that is attached to the car. During that time, if you shift it to rear gear, camera will get the electricity and it will send a signal to the car’s brain that says there is a camera. If you are not shift it to rear during that time, camera will send the signal after the recognition of the camera and the car will not see there is a camera. That is why you need to find the energy source from somewhere. It can be from the fuse box or directly from the battery. The best and safest option is from the fuse box

where to connect the red wire that goes to the front
Red wire is positive. You can connect it with a fuse in the fuse box and you can get the negative from anywhere in the car.
@@Techgeniusideas The problem is that when you connected the two red wires together and connected it to the positive automatically the lights turn the camera on and it won't turn off Even though the car is off.

Its straight forward power and ground for camera (tap into reverse light) and video cable to back of head unit
Believe me it is not straightforward. I tried to find the solution in one and a half months and finally found it

Sorry for misunderstanding. I need to put the gear right after start the car otherwise the car doesn't recognize the camera and it is not working
