      you should be thankful to have oily skin, people with dry skin tend to form premature wrinkles due to the lack of oils on the surface of the skin. Also, oily peeps have more tolerance to exfoliating acids, the downside is WE CANT USE THOSE JUICY THICC CREAMS THAT HAVE THE BEST FORMULATIONS AND INGREDIENTS.

    Love the video! Do you have any tips/products/advice to help clear or reduce scarring?

    • @SoonySun
      @SoonySun  3 роки тому

      It depends on the type of scarring, if it's flat to the skin but just red/dark, using sunscreen everyday is a good idea. Vitamin C and azelaic acid also both work well for this type of pigmentation. I think it's cheaper to find decent azelaic acid (paula's choice and the ordinary both have good azelaic acid). Vitamin C can be a bit more expensive if you're going after a reputable + effective product, but Timeless vitamin C+E is a fairly affordable option for vit C :)
      If the skin is indented, this scarring can be difficult to treat. Chemical peels, like the ordinary AHA+BHA mask can help. But the best option if the scarring is bothering you and is indented is going to a reputable dermatologist/plastic surgeon/aesthetician, they'll be able to discuss stronger and more effective treatments.
      Hope that helps!

    great video :) just want to throw in there that the effacer duo + is probably so effective because of its lipohydroxy acids and salicylic acid in it! the concentrations are low its barely exfoliating but it "loosens" up the epidermis so that sebum can come out pores easier and bacteria cannot get stuck in pores :) Niacinamide is still a nice ingredient for sebum control though, so its a good combo!

      You could use benzoyl peroxide before niacinamide. I wouldn't use benzoyl peroxide with vitamin C since it might affect vit C's efficacy.
      When I use a treatment (like benzoyl peroxide), I normally just use it after cleansing, and then moisturise, so I'm not doing too much to my skin.

    • @SoonySun

      I have the odd thing with dairy in, but I have pretty much cut it out. It just causes too many issues for me 😩 If dairy doesn't flare your skin too much or give you stomach/bowel problems then you don't need to cut it out. If it is causing you issues but you really like it, then reducing your consumption is a good idea :)

    When I moved to Taiwan and started eating differently, I noticed just how much my diet affected my skin. At home, my mother would be conscious about what we ate, so she cooked really healthy food, and I only drank low fat milk.
    In Taiwan I discovered that dairy (low fat milk included) made my skin horrible, so I cut that out of my diet. Sugary food, oily foods ect...all cut out.
    I did spend a lot of money trying out different products until I finally started using just face masks. I cannot exfoliate at all, my skin just hates it. And cleansers are no good for me. My skin really just liked face masks and I've ever only used face masks for my skin care routine. I do have some serums, I take vitamin C, and use sunscreens. I used to hate my oily skin before.. but now I am so grateful that I have oily skin because aging will not be a problem until I pass 40 because oily skin is age defying haha.

    i always thought that acné can be treated by cosmetics products but in reality it's like any medical issues it have her own medicine and it can be treated from the inside first and the outside secondly
    i did take curacné for 8 month and really work for me

      it usually doesn't come back if you've taken a full course that's been correctly prescribed.
      it can if you're unlucky :/ but that's not so common

      Hey just curious, but how are you treating your acne considering you said your hormones play a role too? I personally believe that hormones play a huge role in my case. Would really appreciate some advice if you have any.

    do you find that older dermatologists give no fuk about acne? like they think it is ok and suggest stupid products

  • @wombokkiesan3988
    @wombokkiesan3988 2 роки тому

    Ah acne. I can relate. I had to go through medication as well. I also use benzoyl peroxide and retinoic acid.
    Before consulting a derma, i tried a lot of korean skincare things (i know that it works for other people, but my skin didnt like it) but it didnt work for me. It made things worse. At one point, on top of the tons of whiteheads and other pimples on my face, i suddenly had 11 bumps (blind acne) on my face. I was pretty sure it wasnt there in the morning. The effect it had on my appearance was one thing. Pain is another story. It hurt soo BAD 😟😥
    But yeah, i went through treatment and in 3 months, there was already a huge improvement. My skin cleared up after 3 more months. I still get pimples, but theyre never as bad as how they were before.
    There is hope
