I started painting a year ago, and I have tried glazing several times before after watching the so called best painters, but mate, you explained this so well, I am a teacher in high school and this was an excellent example of modelling, making sure every step is explained and why you do it!! Bravo!!
Dude I saw one of your shorts pop up in my feed, watched it. Then watched this tutorial. Loved the the detailed view and the reasoning how and why. It was a no brainer Sub. Looking forward to watch all your other videos man. Kudos.
I found you on ig, by far on of the best tutorial images on shades and metallic illusion. Keep going buddy, Ill wait for more tutorial videos from you in the future, thanks for share.
Maverick, you are awesome man. For the last few weeks I have been seeing looking at your posts like, “what the hell does that mean” lol thanks for showing us your trick to the trade. Can’t wait to see more of your videos!
Your philosophy of how the models should reflect the grim dark nature of 40k, alone, was enough to secure my sub. Add to that the amazing paint jobs and your channel really is the full package. I personally plan to buy a pack of Tyranids to eviscerate and use as base decor. I prefer to retain the same level of hellish carnage, while still maintaining troops that look intimidating on the tabletop.
One problem I have which might make a good video is - how do you decide where the shadows and light spots are for axes or weird shaped weapons or armour are. It’s only on basic straight swords etc with little angles am I able to figure it out. Would you be able to try a tutorial on that? I haven’t found any good ones explaining it. I always thought maybe just have a bright light on it and then trace where where it gives you bright and dark spots but I’m unsure. Side note, awesome tutorial for blending. It’s going to help a lot of people
Jesus Christ, I must have watched 4+ videos about this and this one was by far the most didatic. Thank you! Can you answer a few questions? 1) What color do you use for the shade? Is it just thinned black? How thin? Any tips to shading differet colors? 2) What wet pallet is that? Looks comfy to use.
I forgot about this video.. thx in advance. I wish I would have remembered seeing this sooner. Before I bombed my first attempts on nmm. Lol. Trial and error.
Thanks for giving approximate water to paint ratios! Turns out my glazing has been unsuccessful because I was trying to use about 5:1 water to paint or higher and then wondering why nothing was happening. 🤦♂️
I've tried glazing but it has never seemed to work out for me until I realize in this guide that it may be due to the brushes im using! What brushes do you use if I may ask? I follow you on Instagram and I think I read somewhere about Raphael brushes?

Exactly what I needed, a really good and straight-to-the-point tutorial! Thanks dude!

Your painting skill is blessed by The Emperor.

Thank you very much!
Great tutorial thanks!
This was soo helpful! Thank you so much!
This is amazing. Thank you. Just for clarity, you glaze with the mid tone?
Yes but don't feel that you are limited to this. You can glaze with either of the colors
This was actually really useful as you’ve shown beginners how to prep the paint, rather than the usual “make a glaze”. Thanks
I agree with R Brewer
Glazed
Wow…
What is your shadow colour? Looks really cool
What brushes do you use and brush maintenance material do you use and method?
I've tried glazing but it has never seemed to work out for me until I realize in this guide that it may be due to the brushes im using!
