I watched the media reports every night for years, and I feel that the U.S. lost the war & harmed the returning American troops because of their visually graphic reports. I have met and worked with Vietnam vets, Canadian & American, Dresden, Germany survivors, nothing nice happens in a war, just ask those that are asked (or drafted) to participate!

The argument goes something like... it contained no mature discrimination for innocence "on the other side". In Biblical religious terms (found throughout the Bible), "the Lord" says you shall protect innocence and stand against (combat) evil. There as well it is directed that it is not man's place to hate, not even on his enemy. So to declare "give 'em hell" where there are civilians present, even if we do not know who may be supporting "terrorists" or not, is considered by many to be presumption of entitlement in "hate".
Later, Dr. Petersen in his subsequent interviews and video followup never actually spoke to this, i.e., it is commonly understood in intellectual discourse that nuanced consideration must be applied for maturely addressing a subject (meaning generalizations fall short of honesty or capability to lead to insight) ...and so even in his followup he never applied any nuanced distinction between terrorists and a people. Even if they are people who made poor choices, not all those civilians are terrorists and deserve the unbridled wrath of returned dispensation of terror.
At least, that is the frame of the argument. Not all agree, obviously. Everyone must make their own peace about what to do with their hate and relationships with their Lord/s.

He said Iran rattled the chains of Hamas because Iran is losing traction with its own people. Umm, Hamas didn’t just dig the tunnels, collect a hefty nasty arsenal in a few weeks. When I started watching JP around 10 years ago? He was heavier - black hair he drank Diet Coke & was teaching at UofT & uploaded his classes online for free! So I would listen to him while I worked in my office job, often. He looks so much older now? I feel he absorbs so many troubles of the world ❤
He is 61 years old now, has greyed gracefully and may possibly be eating healthier to take the weight off, which can also age you. When you get in your 50s you start to take your health more seriously. He is a brilliant man and well respected and I do agree he takes on so many topics in the world it has weighed heavy on him. I believe he is an empath and feels others pain, I am an empath and understand that. What other man actually cries and breaks down during some interviews?… an Empath!
