Makes sense since so many people are now coming in that haven't actually tried a Diablo style game, so it makes me happy to learn alongside everyone and help out
I have tried many different Sorcerer leveling builds and this is by far the best. Not to mention this guide is incredibly detailed and easy to understand. Everyting works so well together and it just feels incredibly "smooth" to play. Many other builds rely on key aspects to work properly, but this one works fine with average gear. I havent tried Rouge yet, but trying to play Sorcerer ranged just seems to put you at a disadvantage. You also get to see a surprising number of different combat animations through Unstable and enchants. I have a soft spot for Hydra and was lucky enough to get an item yesterday with double Hydra aspect so may replace Meteor just for fun. Not sure if enchant abilty will spawn double though! In any case, amazing build and guide. Also LOVE how you leave room to add or subtract passives/abilities based on specific needs and playstyle. Thanks!
No worries happy to help! I'm only sad that I can't finish Sorc during this pre-season it is unfortunately underpowered and so I stopped mine at about level 60-ish. It can kill everything 8 levels above, but struggles to push through 10+ levels that my barb, rogue and druid all can with ease. I am hoping they will buff the Sorc once season 1 drops. However in season 1 all characters irrespective of their strengths and weaknesses will be brought to level 100 and the ideal leveling guides will be provided for all 😁✌️. Thanks for giving my work a chance. More to come in future! Edit: regarding the hydra if used as an enchantment it will spawn a second hydra different to the one you use from your skill
No problem. I respect hardcore players, but do be warned this isn't for hardcore. It does get crazy insane in the late game though. I'll be updating it soon with the late game version. Some skills do change but man, it felt so good soloing the butcher when he was 6 levels higher than me. It was epic 😏😏
I’m really liking your breakdowns I’m using your vids primarily for builds until 50. I have a 52 Necro, 33 Druid, 30 Barb, 25 Sorc and 10 Rougue if anyone wants to play. I have all statues of Lillith and all extra renown skill points.
Thanks mate :) It's good for leveling, but you will probs need to switch to Ice Shard to be viable past level 70 unfortunately. It's why I've stopped playing Sorc for now (until they buff the class which I hope they will)
I Respecd my mage to this build today at 51 Now I'm 56, and cruising through T3 helltides, and Nightmares. I LOVE IT! and so few aspects required! I DID forego Meteor since it seemed to drop on nothing and took Fire Bolt for the glorious burn damage.
You can check the late game version to see how I respec'd beyond mid game. But be warned some issues are encountered in World tier 4 (survival wise) so yeaaah, it's not as ideal as ice shards That said, I'm glad you're having fun with it
I find that pairing chain lightning with arc lash is ridiculously good, plus the frost nova for vulnerability, then roll aspects and gear to buff your damage against them. Then I actually use Ice Shield and it keeps me at 100% HP right through dungeons, I'm unstoppable. At least, until now at level 50, I'm gonna need to probably respec soon...
That's why this is great for leveling. World Tier 3 I changed it up a bit but the core of the build is the same and it works very well. It's why I love the Sorc now. You are tanky as the Barb once you get to Level 60ish and you can fight 8 levels above you with no loss in efficiency. It will probably get even more insane once glyphs are fully leveled and more of my paragon tree is unlocked

Really a wonderful build, I've been destroying everything pretty fast. I played my druid to lv50 but was sooo slow compared to this. Glad I switched now since this is a lot more fun to play

This is pretty much the build I've been using. Fire shield also does a lot of damage. I prefer arclash enchantment as you just stun everything. and then you are doing aoe damage each time you pop a CD.
Hmm, I did not have a problem at all using it all the way in World Tier 2. There are also no real better options. Please be sure to have your fireball enchantment on if you want to actually dish out the damage. That is crucial for horde clear in the early stages. The only time Chain Lightning is switched out is past 50 in the Paragon Stages for World Tier 3 (where single target burst is prioritized).
Im finding this build so slow at T15 nighmares and up now Great burst but lacking when on cooldown. Be great if pulling packs in this game wasnt hindered by mobs going back to their original spawns once you go too far.
Well, this is only mid game. For anything further, I will need to test before posting but there may be adjustments down the line as I reach and clear those tiers

I want yo try on season 2 my sorcerer in season is lvl 39 and im tryibg a ball lightning build but not enough mana and not much ball spawns.. so not much fun for now im looming for a build to level up and have more mana , since this video is 5 months old is it still working good after all those patches? My main sorcerer is lvl 89 but not a seasonal caracter and im using blizzard build , i just dont want to change hes build since i lime it this way

I'm new to diablo and love build crafting but I can't seem to find an answer. Does going over 100 percent on a stat do anything or does it cap at 100 percent. Example does doing 150 percent frost damage do 150 percent more damage or does it cap at 100 percent.
You should probably google the caps, but I'll keep it simple. Look for late game build videos to see what stats you actually need to build. Also the Sorc was not taken past late game (level 60+) in the pre-season, due to Ice Shards being the ONLY viable build for end game. If you want to learn build crafting, I suggest you google the caps as it's pretty complex and you need to know the damage formula (and all the buckets).
Not really, the build will remain the same. That said, the sorc will not be finished during the pre-season because it's just comparatively weak (compared to other classes). Until they buff it, it is (once you realize how strong other classes are) practically unplayable right now (and it saddens me because I love sorc and they have an amazing skin in the store too)
@RealAsianRobot oh wow, really, so far I'm finding the sorcerer to be way easier to level than my barb and druid, but I did notice that rogue is insanely powerful like by far compared to the other classes, but thanks for letting me know because I guess I'll just switch to rogue full time now.

I've tried both, use what suits you. I prefer the Fireball solely because it stacks up nicely for horde clear. The burn is far better single target DPS , so it depends on what you're having trouble with overall.
No changes since game opening. The sorc is just unfortunately weaker than the other classes right now. This is literally one of the strongest that we have lol. If you got anything better, I'd love to know how you're building.
That would likely be a gearing issue. You can check the late game version of this build to see how we alter it for single target damage (around World Tier 3), but for early and mid game this should be sufficient, assuming that you're running decent gear. I had no trouble completely wrecking bosses. (actually used this build to finish the story as well lol).
Perhaps you should review a stream where I play this build live. I plan to do some next week. I can easily prove it does not have a problem 🤣🤣. Any issues with this build are usually related to the following: - Incorrect Gearing - Poor use of skill rotation. I would suggest learning more from livestreams whenever I play Sorc 😁👍. I can happily demonstrate the strength of this. That said, compared to other classes, sorc lacks damage overall and that is an unfortunate truth. Going into paragon I am weaker than the barb, druid and necro by a long shot
This build doesn't work very well for me. I find myself using lots of heal potions to save myself and being very low on them subsequently all the time. It's a very squishy build. I die pretty frequently with it. I don't recommend using this setup.
You may need to consider how you use your shields and barriers. Skill timing and rotation is absolutely crucial to survival (fyi it's the same on all characters to an extent). Sorcs need to avoid taking damage. If you get a chance, swing by a stream where I play the Sorc and you can see how I handle the survival aspect 😁👍. Your barriers are your lifeline so managing their cooldowns and their uptime is your bread and butter basically.
@@RealAsianRobot How are you actually doing damage with this build besides waiting for the ultimate to come off cd? All the skills appear to be defensive in nature and arc lash is minimal dmg. Chaing lightning is okayish dmg, but it uses a ton of mana.

My advice is not to follow tier list lol. Any class can be strong with the right build, but I never classify anything as S tier, because this game is all about building correctly and knowing how to get the best of your character. I mean, my PvE necro has absolutely demolished druids and barbs in PvP and i wasn't even built for it....so would that make me SS tier? It's really just a skill difference. So I always advise my audience to think outside of tier lists (as those are very subjective compared to build info which is objective in nature). As for the Sorc, they tend to shine more after hitting paragon levels as the boards make a huuuuuge diff to how viable they are overall. That said, I do also feel that they got nerfed too hard. The original super powerful sorc builds were all shut down right after the open beta which sucks goatballs, so unfortunately this is about the best we've got. I reckon if they left the original builds, the sorc would be a pvp nightmare. Druid and Barbarian are definitely stronger with the right builds. Heck Lightning druid is one of the strongest in the game 😒😒😒. It's so brutal...

The fireball enchantment isn’t that good. The burn on hit is better
I've tried both, use what suits you. I prefer the Fireball solely because it stacks up nicely for horde clear. The burn is far better single target DPS , so it depends on what you're having trouble with overall.
Fireball for trash mobs is super useful

No changes since game opening. The sorc is just unfortunately weaker than the other classes right now. This is literally one of the strongest that we have lol.
If you got anything better, I'd love to know how you're building.

That would likely be a gearing issue. You can check the late game version of this build to see how we alter it for single target damage (around World Tier 3), but for early and mid game this should be sufficient, assuming that you're running decent gear. I had no trouble completely wrecking bosses. (actually used this build to finish the story as well lol).

teleport, unstable currents, ice armour, frost nova, arc lash, chain lighting, thats 6 you actively use. nevermind I m mistaken :)

Perhaps you should review a stream where I play this build live. I plan to do some next week. I can easily prove it does not have a problem 🤣🤣.
Any issues with this build are usually related to the following:
- Incorrect Gearing
- Poor use of skill rotation.
I would suggest learning more from livestreams whenever I play Sorc 😁👍. I can happily demonstrate the strength of this.
That said, compared to other classes, sorc lacks damage overall and that is an unfortunate truth. Going into paragon I am weaker than the barb, druid and necro by a long shot
This build doesn't work very well for me. I find myself using lots of heal potions to save myself and being very low on them subsequently all the time. It's a very squishy build. I die pretty frequently with it. I don't recommend using this setup.
You may need to consider how you use your shields and barriers. Skill timing and rotation is absolutely crucial to survival (fyi it's the same on all characters to an extent).
Sorcs need to avoid taking damage. If you get a chance, swing by a stream where I play the Sorc and you can see how I handle the survival aspect 😁👍. Your barriers are your lifeline so managing their cooldowns and their uptime is your bread and butter basically.
@@RealAsianRobot How are you actually doing damage with this build besides waiting for the ultimate to come off cd? All the skills appear to be defensive in nature and arc lash is minimal dmg. Chaing lightning is okayish dmg, but it uses a ton of mana.

Its so fcking bad compare to S tier class like druid and warrior 😭
My advice is not to follow tier list lol. Any class can be strong with the right build, but I never classify anything as S tier, because this game is all about building correctly and knowing how to get the best of your character. I mean, my PvE necro has absolutely demolished druids and barbs in PvP and i wasn't even built for it....so would that make me SS tier? It's really just a skill difference. So I always advise my audience to think outside of tier lists (as those are very subjective compared to build info which is objective in nature).
As for the Sorc, they tend to shine more after hitting paragon levels as the boards make a huuuuuge diff to how viable they are overall.
That said, I do also feel that they got nerfed too hard. The original super powerful sorc builds were all shut down right after the open beta which sucks goatballs, so unfortunately this is about the best we've got.
I reckon if they left the original builds, the sorc would be a pvp nightmare.
Druid and Barbarian are definitely stronger with the right builds. Heck Lightning druid is one of the strongest in the game 😒😒😒. It's so brutal...

But yes I understand the frustration. I still don't understand why they nerfed the Sorc that hard. Imo it was only OP cause we were all level 25 and Druids and Barbs couldn't even get their class based bonus.
